Emily Finland, twenty-five, college graduate, hot mess, lover of all things cheese. Hasn’t had a date in a year. Yeah, that’s not something I would put in a dating profile. Ever. In fact, I can’t be bothered to date. There are so many awful guys out there. I much prefer to Netflix and chill with a pizza. But of course, my busybody best friend Charlotte was having none of that. She persuaded me to … to go on a blind date and even though I was reluctant, I decided to go. I never expected to meet a man like Liam Montgomery.
Liam Montgomery, forty, rich, cocky, wears a rolex, likes expensive whiskey, completely out of my league. He was not who I would have chosen to have gone on a blind date with. Just because he was gorgeous didn’t mean he would make a good boyfriend. Plus he was way too old for me. That didn’t stop me from flirting with him though. Or from spending one very long exciting night with him. I’m not going to tell anyone about that night. Ironically, it turned out that Liam hadn’t even been my intended date. Oops!
Unfortunately for me, hot mess Emily, the biggest shock of my life was still to come. For while Liam and I should never have been, he’s not about to leave my life quite that easily. You see I’m celebrating my dad’s retirement with my folks and Liam is also there. Only this time, he’s not alone.

This is a well written book with strong characters and an intriguing story line. A blind date .. mistaken identity and a mafia boss .. that’s what happens when Emily and Matteo meet. The author takes them on an interesting ride. It’s well written, moves fluidly and is an entertaining story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This book has it all! It is hilarious, especially the dialogue during the blind date! Then the story takes twists and turns, many of which are unexpected! It’s impossible to put this book down!

Oh this one is good, really good! It is hot as fornication!!!!! Not only is it sexy and every other word that you can think to replace sexy with, it is also very funny with areas of sadness too.
The author has created an adult book with two main characters with amazing chemistry that sizzles off the page through the kindle up your fingers. The supporting cast of characters are sassy, funny, bold and if they were your friends they would be bad for your health! The story is well written flowing from page to page and chapter to chapter.
This is the second of a series of books which are stacking up to be a good add to my collection.
I totally loved this book and recommend that you add it to your reading list xx

It was a blind date gone wrong…Emily thought she was sitting with her blind date and turned out not be the case. Much of the story line was way out there, lacked depth and frankly Emily was an idiot. Wasn’t a fan of the two main characters at all and this took me much longer to get through than normal. Just wasn’t for me…
The story line and character work were good. The book had a smooth flow to it. This was a great addition to the series.

Emily hasn’t been on a date for years. She went on a blind date and it was with Matteo
he wasn’t the person that she was hooked up for the date but fate stepped in.
The journey they took is real interesting and some time quite steamy.
Real interesting plot and characters.
Also I listen to the audio and throughly enjoyed it

Matteo And Emily’s Story Is Steeped In Steam And Suspense That Keeps You On Your Toes!
This is the second book in the Alpha Boyfriends series about three best friends who meet during freshman year at Columbia University in New York. Charlotte, Emily, and Anabel, all twenty-five now, are young and single in New York City. Book one is Charlotte and Max’s story. Charlotte loses her job when Max Parker’s company buys her company and dissolves it. With an axe to grind against the mysterious Mr. Parker, she doesn’t feel badly when she is mistaken for his girlfriend in a mix-up. She goes along with the error when she sees that it gets her special treatment. Little does she anticipate how quickly rumors spread, and before she knows it Max Parker himself has sent her an angry email. Emily’s story follows here in book two. It is her story with Matteo Fellini. In book three, Anabel’s secret lost love returns when Luca suddenly decides he wants her back.
Emily Finland, twenty-five, hasn’t been with a man in over a year. Her last boyfriend had celebrated their one year anniversary by explaining that he wanted to see other people; she had soured on men since. Netflix and pizza provide her ample company without the heartache these days. But three months ago Charlotte met Max, and Charlotte has it fixed in her mind that Emily must find love, too. She arranges for a blind date for Emily with one of Max’s business partners that is newly single, and Emily reluctantly agrees to go.
When Emily meets her date, she hesitates. He is and older man – albeit a very handsome and charming older man. Liam Montgomery is forty, but despite his age Emily feels an insane connection with him. When he promises to prove to her that older men are better, she gets the courage to let go and enjoy herself for just one night.
When she sees Liam at her parents’ party a week later, though, things don’t add up. Liam goes by the name Matteo Fellini and he wants her to pretend she doesn’t know him. He asks for her trust, but danger seems to follow him.
Matteo and Emily’s story is steeped in steam and suspense. The couple has an immediate connection, but circumstances prevent them from simply enjoying one another’s company. Charlotte and Anabel offer their support throughout, and Anabel in particular warns Emily about Matteo. The couple earns a brief happy ending. Note that an epilogue will be available for download via the author’s newsletter. The next book is Anabel’s, but her story begins here as Matteo and Luca are not strangers.
Matteo and Emily’s story keeps you on your toes until the end! The couple deals with issues of deception, but here the motives are the critical question. Anabel’s backstory trickles out throughout the book, but it ends in a cliffhanger when she comes face to face with Luca. This story is nicely written. There is some repetition in the middle, but the story picks up speed towards the end as the suspense builds. The story is plot-driven. It is written in first person from Emily’s POV. I rate this book four stars.

I was a little hesitant going into this book because of the huge age difference, if the female was older and not essentially a child it would’ve been fine, anyway I gave this shot and was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t what I thought this story is funny, light hearted and sweet

Emily is set up on a blind date by her bff. She goes and meets a very handsome and rich older man. Liam and Emily spend one passion filled night.
They never expect to meet again, but when they do it’s at her father’s retirement dinner. Their attraction is still explosive, but this time Liam is full of secrets. This was such a fun, fast paced, well written romance. Lot’s of twists and turns and lies revealed, trust issues, and unexpected drama, serious drama!! I enjoyed this book, I love book 1, and now I am anticipating Anabel’s story.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
I
It was hard to like the heroine, 25-year old Emily. She walks up to Liam at a restaurant thinking that he’s her blind date. She immediately jumps into telling him that he’s old (at 40). It was just a completely unrealistic introduction. She decides to stay because he’s buying dinner and she wants a free meal. She then ends up letting him finger her under the table while she tells him how old he is. The book pretty much went down hill from there.
Oh, and then Liam turns into a mob boss who is threatening Emily’s dad because of unpaid gambling debts.
I thought this story had a great promising storyline but, overall, I think it could have been better executed. I had no real empathy for the heroine or her friends – I thought Emily came across often as immature – and, even though the hero was sexy, I couldn’t quite peg him. Personally, considering who he was, I would have liked him to be broodier, mysterious and in control. I think the main characters needed more development. The solid bones of the story were there but the whole thing could have had a much smoother, less rushed and less clunky delivery. Sorry, this one was just not for me.
This is Book 2 in the Alpa Boyfriends Series by this author. It is a fun, sexy romance between Emily and Matteo. These characters are very different but likable, the connection strong, the chemistry hot, and the unique plot makes for an enjoyable read. What starts out as a one night stand turns into something more. It is quite refreshing to read the push and pull and ups and downs in their relationship. It is a romantic adventure with drama, humor, love, and a touch of deception and intrigue, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Overall, it is a decent read with heart, heat and a happy for now ending. The books in the series are interconnected but can be read as standalones.

I couldn’t get enough of this story and these characters!!! When two people meet that aren’t supposed to meet and things go better than planned on the original blind date who can complain? Well there are some complaints when Emily who hasn’t had a date in over a year finds out that Liam isn’t who he says he is. She can’t help but go to her two best friends and try to figure out what the heck went wrong and where. Who is Liam? Why wont he just tell her who he is?
Well that all comes to a screeching halt when her parents tell her they are suddenly moving to Miami. She knows her dad has never been the dependable type when it came to finances, but something isn’t right. When she shows up to his retirement party with her best friend she is standing there trying to figure out what is going on when lo and behold Liam walks in the door. And he’s not alone, He has two people with him and one of them is a stunning woman that Emily is suddenly wary of. She looks like she means business. It isn’t until Liam pulls her into the bathroom that she gets a glimpse at who he is, and an even better time with him while they hide.
From here this story is nothing short of beyond sexy, and addictive to say the least. This is a definite book everyone should pick up!

Emily’s best friend, Charlotte, loves to meddle in her life. She feels that everyone needs love that found her. Reluctantly, Emily agrees to a blind date with one of Charlotte’s finance co-workers. Not ideal, but it will be a way to get Charlotte off her back. When she walks into the meeting place, she regrets not having a picture of what the guy looks like. She sees a guy sitting alone at a table and assumes that this is her date. It is never good to assume anything.
Liam was perfectly happy sitting by himself, having a drink when a young woman sits at his table. In a split second, he decides to play along with what she is saying. As the night goes on, the heat increases between them and ends in a one night stand.
Well, after the one night stand, life interrupts and Emily finds out that her parents are suddenly retiring and moving. This is not supposed to be her life. Suddenly, Liam reappears in her life, but not in the way she expected. From here on out, nothing goes as planned. Will they succeed or crash and burn?
J.S. Cooper takes you on an emotional ride. It is very much young women and older man story. The do have a connection but life throws them curve balls. It s a good weekend read. She captures the variety of emotions and nothing is as it seems.

Older man younger woman
The story started off great. Emily is set up
on a blind date and ends up spending the night with Matteo. It’s the next day before she realizes that he is not her intended date. They think it is just one night but their lives are now entangled in a dangerous game. Matteo must keep Emily, her family and her friends alive. Lies, secrets and danger are weaved throughout this short story. It was really too short to do proper justice to the story but ok for a quick read. I loved the friendship Emily had with her two best friends. I would finish up the series with Anabrl’s story. It sounds interesting.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Matteo and Emily. Her best friends have set her up on a blind date, which she reluctantly agreed to. At the restaurant she realizes she can’t remember her dates name. So when the attractive older man waves see her from across the room, she makes her way over. They tease each other to no end, but never reveal their identities. He spends the evening showing her why an older man is better. Great HEA in the end with secrets revealed and lives on then line.

O.M.G!
I have not had a good laugh in months from a book! This was the funniest book EVER! J.S. Cooper bravo! You did your thang woman!
Emily was the silliest character I have ever read in a book! She just loves to blurt out all kind of sayings without even thinking. What a scene with her walking up to a guy at the bar who she believed was her blind date that evening. I could not get over how she blurted out “It’s just that I know Charlotte told me to be open-minded, but boy, how old are you?” That just took the cake! If I was Liam…I would have got up from the bar and walked away. But it was so interesting in watching how Liam reacted to Emily conversation and her unorthodox ways.
Liam was drop-dead gorgeous for an older man who was forty and took a liking to Emily at first meeting. He found Emily to be sexy and entertaining. This made for an interesting wrong identity blind date. Throughout the story we find out that Emily has crazy girlfriends that are just as nutty as her name Charlotte and Anabel. I can’t wait to go back and read Charlotte book and hope Anabel gets her own book as well in the future. You would love to have these girls as your best-friends.
The family drama, steamy scenes between Liam & Emily is all worth the end result of a happily ever after! Now if you enjoy a book that is funny with a dose of craziness and great plot, BUY THIS BOOK! It is definitely a five star read! ***Received this book from the author for an honest review***
The blurb for About Last Night grabbed my attention and I couldn’t wait to get started. I’ve grown fond of reading stories with a younger woman/older man, especially when there’s a blind date involved, and since J.S. Cooper was an author I’d never read, I figured I’d give it a try.
For the most part, I enjoyed the story. It was cute and the characters were certainly entertaining. I did struggle in the beginning as there seemed to be an issue with a couple of the paragraphs not making much sense and/or repeating themselves. The banter between Emily and Liam was sometimes a bit silly but overall, it was a fast-paced read that kept my full attention. The story itself didn’t really come across as believable, but there was humor and that’s all that mattered.
I had no idea when I decided to try this story that it was part of a series. As the second book in the series, the author did a pretty good job filling me in on the secondary characters that were from book one. If you’re looking for a quick read that’s sure to make you giggle a time or two, About Last Night is worth a try.
This book was amazing. Loved the characters. This is the 2nd book of the series. Emily meets her blind date and it turns out to be mistaken identity. There is a lot of humor in the book. I can’t wait for next book.
I enjoyed this story. It did have me going back and forth on Matteo/Liam for a long time during the story. I was not prepared for the reveal, that one I didn’t see coming at all.
Emily is twenty-five and her best friend Charlotte sets her up on a blind date that she doesn’t want to go on. She would much rather eat a pizza and chill out watching Netflix. Emily knows that Charlotte won’t let her out of it, so she goes and meets the guy for the blind date. She meets Liam although, at this point, they don’t exchange names and assumes that he is her blind date. Emily thinks he’s gorgeous but way too old for her since he’s forty and totally out of her league. She still flirts with him and ends up spending the night with him doing very exciting and fun things. In the morning, she finds out that he wasn’t her blind date after all.
After their hot night together, Emily and Liam part ways. But then she goes to her father’s retirement party and Liam shows up again. This time when she sees Liam, he is with another woman and Emily instantly becomes angry and jealous. Liam confronts her and tells her that his real name is Matteo and he will explain everything later.
There were lots of twists and I kept thinking that I had it figured out and then, nope! I did like Matteo and Emily and I thought they were good for each other. They were very entertaining and at times quite funny. I liked the way their story ended, but I do wish there was an epilogue further down the line in their relationship. I recommend reading this book.
