Emily Finland, twenty-five, college graduate, hot mess, lover of all things cheese. Hasn’t had a date in a year. Yeah, that’s not something I would put in a dating profile. Ever. In fact, I can’t be bothered to date. There are so many awful guys out there. I much prefer to Netflix and chill with a pizza. But of course, my busybody best friend Charlotte was having none of that. She persuaded me to … to go on a blind date and even though I was reluctant, I decided to go. I never expected to meet a man like Liam Montgomery.
Liam Montgomery, forty, rich, cocky, wears a rolex, likes expensive whiskey, completely out of my league. He was not who I would have chosen to have gone on a blind date with. Just because he was gorgeous didn’t mean he would make a good boyfriend. Plus he was way too old for me. That didn’t stop me from flirting with him though. Or from spending one very long exciting night with him. I’m not going to tell anyone about that night. Ironically, it turned out that Liam hadn’t even been my intended date. Oops!
Unfortunately for me, hot mess Emily, the biggest shock of my life was still to come. For while Liam and I should never have been, he’s not about to leave my life quite that easily. You see I’m celebrating my dad’s retirement with my folks and Liam is also there. Only this time, he’s not alone.

This book held me captive from the start! It is filled with lots of emotions, action and wonderful characters. A real pageturner. Can not wait to read more books from this author.

25 year old Emily hasn’t had a date in over a year and her friend sets her up on a blind date. When she gets the meeting place she can’t remember the guys name and ends up going to 40 year old Liam’s table (her presumed date) and proceeds to tell him why he is too old for her. After a hilarious conversation about older men they do hook up and she realizes she doesn’t even know his full name. She sees him again at her father’s house and it turns out his name is actually Matteo and he is messed up with the mafia and her father somehow, his story changes. Will Emily and Matteo end up together?
The story started out funny but then I got too confused. I’m still not certain if Matteo was at all good and what happened to Emily’s father. I’m not a fan of mafia stories and this one seemed to turn into one.
Talk about the wrong blind date !! When she was less than thrilled to be set up by her best friend Emily went on a blind date that turned into so much more. After one night she would never see him again so she thought. Liam shows up at Emilys dad’s retirement party and she finds out there’s more to him than she thought. Is he good or bad. What is his real name? Does her heart even care. Things get more and more complicated when he takes her to Florida to find her parents. We are thrown a major curve when Anabel shows up and part of her past is revealed. I’m really excited to hear Anabels story.
Every girl knows to run away from the wolf
fun read
Emily is out on a blind date set up by her friend, when she get to the restaurant she mistakes her blind date for Matteo. Matteo is attracted to Emily and decides to play along as her blind date, they have a one night stand. The next morning when Emily learn Matteo is not her blind date things take an unexpected turn. Matteo is secretive and interconnected to Emily’s parent. The book had a lot of unexpected turns, once I was certain were the book was going the author throws a curve ball. Will Emily be able to have a relationship with Matteo and save her family?
One one blind date turns into so much more. Sometimes the story confused me in terms of the timelines or conversations but what I like about this author and is that there always humor. I couldn’t stop because I was practically smiling the whole time, even when the characters acted silly.
Despite her reservations Emily agrees to go on a blind date that her best friend set up for her but when she arrives she only sees one viable candidate and a flirty banter ensues. She is very attracted to Liam and even though he is older than she anticipated they spend a steamy evening together but the morning after doesn’t go as planned when she realizes he is a stranger and not her date. They go their separate ways without exchanging contact info and don’t expect to see each other again.
Fate had other ideas when Emily attends her parent’s go away party as they are moving to Florida when who should also be there but the man she spend the previous night with. Questions arise when not only is his name Matteo and not Liam, he implores her to forget they ever met, it appears he may be living on the dark side of the law and he is more foe than friend when it comes to father.
The chemistry between them is hot, the surprises keep coming and the relationship that Emily had with her two best friends was fun to watch. I enjoyed the performance of the narrator and thought she did a great job with the suspense and heat of the storyline.
Wow. So many twists and turns. And just ore ordered Anabel’s book. It’s one of those where you love to hate and hate to love the guy. He is the bad guy or is he the good guy? So many plot twists. I like Emily she is genuine and honest. But a little too trusting honestly. And I think she should have put things together faster. But honestly her dad sucks. Like big time. I like Matteo. He is the hot older guy who is drawn to Emily. But you can just tell he is the bad boy but a girl always likes her bad boy. Can’t wait for next book.
Emily is sent on a blind date that goes great until it doesn’t. The twists and turns of this story will keep you guessing and the strong bond between Emily and her friends will have you cheering and laughing.
“About Last Night” (Alpha Boyfriends Book 2) by J.S. Cooper is a good read. I enjoyed Emily and Matteo’s story. This is an interesting addition to this series. This story is full of close friends, humor, twists and turns, romance, passion, drama, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book in this series, “When We Were Us”. Recommend to fans of romance, close friends, and series.
i truly enjoyed listening to this mafia themed romance. emily was a great character. she was human, relatable with her messed up persona and lifestyle. laim was dominating in the ways he tried to corral emily into his life but loving at the same time. great book.
Matteeo never expected someone like Emily to come into his life. Even after she insults him the chemistry between them is electric. Emily never thought her one night stand would be the one to walk through her parents door. Together they go on an adventure. Will they end up together? Does her best friend know more than she is letting out? Can they find her parents and prevent her ache? Definitely worth the reading.

I couldnt put this book down, im not sure if it was because the leading lady was abit of a sexual maniacal fool or because she was great ??? Im still confused lol. Well worth the read with plot twists keeping you entertained.
About Last Night is primarily the story of Emily Finland and Liam Montgomery/Matteo Fellini who meet on a blind date through a misunderstanding. The plot of the book is an older man and younger woman romance storyline with twists, suspense, dishonesty, and sizzling chemistry.

About last night was not what I had expected. I was surprised with all the twists, the mafia trope, and the amount of suspense that had me jumping to every possible conclusion only to be proven wrong. After reading the first book in the series, I was very excited to continue with Emily and Matteo(Liam). Their story was HOTTT, a bit cheesy with the romance (in a good way), funny, and full of twists that will leave you questioning everything until the very last page. Emily is fun, naive, and a little crazy but she gives this book so much character! Matteo is this enigma that I can never figure out, kept the suspense on high alert throughout the story, and was full of surprises. I adored the three best friends and how they are always there for each other and offer good and bad advice. I am going crazy for Annabel’s book and hope to get my remaining questions answered!

Emily hasn’t been on a date in a year and thanks to her friend Charlotte that’s all about to change. Emily reluctantly goes on the date and when she meets Liam has a wonderful night after all. Oops, he’s the wrong guy and she was meant to meet Matteo. I enjoyed this wonderful story. There are so many things to love about it. I’m looking forward to the next one. Ok, usually I have loved everything by Ms. JS Cooper, but this was a bit of a disappointment. The writing is choppy and the characters just don’t seem to mesh really well. I did like the plot it has so much potential, but this one does not keep in with the first book from the series. I do believe this one could be great it has all the storyline and features just needs to be reorganized.

About Last Night by J.S. Cooper. I know they say don’t judge a book by its cover BUT oh my! This cover did it for me even before reading the blurb I knew I had to read it at least even if I hated it. Which I didn’t! JS Cooper is fast becoming one of my go to authors when I want something other than dark and depraved. I enjoyed this book, the plot and characters really came to life for me and I felt as though I was there with them (even in the saucy parts). This story is so good on so many levels that I hardly know where to start. It has a very good storyline and just exact characters, some over the top and some just regular and it has good humour which is of course always great. Overall a good story that is well worthy of the time it takes to read it so fabulous four stars go to this story.
