From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken comes a new story in her Seaside Pictures series¿ It’s not every day you’re slapped on stage by two different women you’ve been dating for the last year.I know what you’re thinking. What sort of ballsy woman gets on stage and slaps a rockstar? Does nobody have self-control anymore? It may have been the talk of the Grammy’s.Oh, … Grammy’s.Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that. I, Ty Cuban, was taken down by two psychotic women in front of the entire world. Lucky for us the audience thought it was part of the breakup song my band and I had just finished performing. I was thirty-three, hardly ready to settle down.Except now it’s getting forced on me. Seaside, Oregon. My band mates were more than happy to settle down, dig their roots into the sand, and start popping out kids. Meanwhile I was still enjoying life.Until now. Until my forced hiatus teaching freaking guitar lessons at the local studio for the next two months. Part of my punishment, do something for the community while I think deep thoughts about all my life choices.Sixty days of hell.It doesn’t help that the other volunteer is a past flame that literally looks at me as if I’ve sold my soul to the devil. She has the voice of an angel and looks to kill-I would know, because she looks ready to kill me every second of every day. I broke her heart when we were on tour together a decade ago.I’m ready to put the past behind us. She’s ready to run me over with her car then stand on top of it and strum her guitar with glee.Sixty days. I can do anything for sixty days. Including making the sexy Von Abigail fall for me all over again. This time for good.Damn, maybe there’s something in the water.

WOW! For a novella, this one has it all! When I finished I sat and pondered the book I just read. What an awesome second chance/enemies-friends-lovers story about overcoming what you think and doing what your heart wants. I love Ty and Abs, they are the perfect mix of angst and fun, throw in some serious hate/love banter and I’m hooked!
I love the Seaside Pictures series! This book can be read as a stand alone, but WHY wouldn’t you just start at the beginning and sail on through!
I love going to Seaside, Oregon seeing the town and hello the hot rockstars there like Tyler, Drew and the rest of the gang. We have Ty, who by all counts need a good kick in the ass for the way he has been acting lately. I loved that Abigail is not easily falling for his charms even though the sexual chemistry is still there, possibly hotter than ever. Rachel Van Dyken not only shows us a Ty not many people see but a man who wants to be better. Abigail may seem like a she devil to Ty but deep down the love has never stopped towards him. Real question is how Ty and Abigail can overcome all the hurt and fear to make a life together. All in all it was short, sweet, hot and sort of like a reunion for everybody in the band. Cannot wait to see what else is in store for Seaside.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This one had me at the blurb…getting slapped on stage at the Grammys? This is a rockstar I need to meet. Plus, it has enemies-to-lovers!
I love all the Seaside books, I really loved this one too. This is Ty and Abigail’s second chance. This book had me in tears and laughing in the same chapter. I love all the feels in this book.
Abandon is a short, sweet, a tad angsty, second chance romance with a spoonful of friends/enemies to lovers thrown in. This was a part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Also, this was my first ever read from the author and it is safe to say that I got hooked by the author’s beautifully rendered world of Seaside.
Ty and Abigail fell in love hard while they were young and given their age, comes recklessness, indecisions and insecurities that both of them weren’t matured enough to handle. So, they fell apart and hatred borne of pain and blinding hurt took over Ty’s rockstar life. He tried to forget Abby but helping a friend during a summer camp force them to be together. Will they take this opportunity to settle things and maybe give their love another try? Or was it too little too late?
I loved Ty’s wry humour and the incessant, playful bickering with his friends. I love seeing men lifting and helping each other out, and how they acted like family when you needed one. Even to the point of ganging up on Ty to clear things out and maybe, moved on from Abby. Their friendship is so real and I love every second of their camaraderie. Ty and Abby’s love story is a perfect example that first love never dies and that every one deserves a chance, if only you have the guts to fight for it. Highly recommends this to those who loves second chance romances.
If you’re wanting a peek into the RVD Universe, the 1001 Dark Nights Novellas are the perfect way to jump into a series and this installment is from one of my all-time favorite series by Rachel – Seaside/Seaside Pictures.
Ty is helping out his fellow bandmates and friends with a summer camp in Seaside but the last person he ever expected to Abagail, the one person who ripped his heart out 10 years ago and he’s never been able to get over. The two together are combustible and somehow they need to make it through the summer without killing each other. Ty doesn’t think he can sink any lower until an overheard conversation breaks the last part of him that was holding out hope.
I loved Ty and Abagail. They both had their reasons for the baggage of the past and the two together are not only like dynamite going off when they fight but when they give in to each other they are flaming hot too!
Quick sexy, fun read that will have you wanting more!
It’s been a long time since I first read the books that introduced the characters featured in Abandon and I absolutely loved catching up with them again. I’m going to need a re-read now!
For a short story there was lots to keep me entertained and I loved every page!
Ty just stole my heart. He showed a very caring personality which I loved, even after a lifetime of heartache. Abigail is feisty and I loved how she is able to hold her own in a group filled with men. She’s made mistakes in the past which affected her previous relationship with Ty considerably and I was often left wondering if it ever would be possible for either of them to forgive and move on.
You’ll laugh lots and maybe even fill up with tears whilst reading this novella. As well as loving Ty and Abigail, I loved how their friends were there to support each other whenever needed. I’m certain many of their conversations will bring on smile…. they certainly put one on my face!
Enjoy this lovely quick read. I am certain you will!
I adore Seaside so I couldn’t wait for this book!
Ty and Abigail tugged on my heart strings and did not let go the entire story. Their journey was a rough one and the angst was high but it was worth every show stopping moment! I either held my breath, yelled at them or my heart bursted with joy. I was happy to see the crew back as well as they lightened the load with humor and friendship. Plus, I missed them. This book is full of drama, passion, pain and so much love. Rachel has written a flawless story that reminds you everyone feels abandoned and alone at some point, but sometimes things happen so you end up right where you were meant to be!
What a great second chance romance. I loved it! Rachel has written another amazing story with perfect characters. It’s a quick read but has all the feels. I can’t wait for more from this author.
4.5 Brilliant Stars!!
ABANDON, is part of the 1001 Dark Nights collection, and an excellent addition to the Seaside Pictures series, that can be read as standalone.
This second chance, enemies to lovers romance is beautifully well-written, emotional, heartwarming, captivating, and entertaining. A real page-turners at its best!!
There is enough detailed information on many reviews, so I won’t say anymore other than to highly recommend this fabulous read, especially if you’re a Rachel Van Dyken’s fan. Her storytelling is just brilliant!!
I absolutely love the world Rachel Van Dyken has created in Seaside, Oregon and the rockers who reside there. In Abandon, we get Ty Cuban’s story. We learn his history and how and why he spiraled. Though his friends will always be there for him, when he is slapped by two different woman while performing on the stage at the Grammys his they decide he needs a change. That is how he finds himself in Seaside working with kids when he comes face-to-face with his past.
Abs walked away from Ty and neither has been happy since. But the more time they spend together now, the harder it is to hide what has always been there. Ty was lost and broken. He lost a big part of himself and never found it again. Abs was afraid to let someone anyone in. It was better to walk away then get hurt. But after years of being miserable, could this finally be their time or was it too already too late? Abandon by Rachel Van Dyken was an emotional and angsty second chance romance. A great novel for both those who love Seaside already and those wanting to try something from Rachel Van Dyken.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
An Emotional, Sexy, Rockstar Romance! Second Chance at its best!
An all new romantic rockstar story from RVD! Don’t miss this one!
An emotional, second-chance, rockstar romance from Rachel Van Dyken is now live!!! Excited to sink my teeth into this one!
Abandon was everything you can expect from a Rachel Van Dyken story. It was intense and emotional. It was sexy and passionate. She delivered an unputdownable story of love, lust, heartbreak and happily ever after in a small yet powerful package.
Ty Cuban, the bad boy rockstar, was forced to take part in a music camp for children as a kind of punishment by his band members. But it quickly turned into a real hell when he finds out his ex aka love of life Abigail is also attending the camp. She left him 10 years back which has hurled him into an empty dark void and he is not ready to get his heart broken all over again. But Aby is broken too. And it is going to one explosive, angsty and heart-rending story.
Rachel Van Dyken kept me engrossed in the story. Ty is everything. A rockstar. An imperfect guy with a perfect heart. He is angry, lonely, vulnerable, sad and hiding all these behind his cold uncaring mask. And Abigail is a ball of emotions. Regret, longing, unrequited love, guilt and everything. Their chemistry was scorching hot and soul deep. I got goosebumps every time they fought, made love or simply communicated their emotions. The writing was stunning. The story was a novella but it did not feel so at all. It had plenty of emotional ups and downs and explosions.
Abandon is a musical love story by Rachel Van Dyken. Lyrics came from her words. Sounds came from the passionate and stunning feelings.
Received ARC for Honest review
Abandon is the next 1001 Dark Nights book by Rachel Van Dyken. Each story is a standalone either by itself or within an author’s series to introduce you to their writing/characters/series. These are great books to try if you’re not sure whether you will like the author’s style of writing/storytelling. Most are novella length or very short novels.
With that said…I feel like I keep repeating myself with my Rachel Van Dyken reviews. I’m a huge fan of her writing style, use of humor in even angsty situations, and overall storytelling ability. Seriously…her imagination and creativity just never cease to amaze me! I practically devour every single book of hers.
Abandon is an enemy to lovers, second chance romance that takes place within Rachel’s Seaside Pictures series. (Again, this can be read as a standalone!) I’m always a sucker for a great second chance romance because I’ve lived my own and now have my HEA. OK…at least most days! I love him, but we’re both human. But I digress…
Ty and Abigail have a very rocky history. But the gang decided an intervention of sorts is necessary, so these two end up in Seaside, Oregan with most of the rest of the gang. (Don’t worry about being lost or not understanding who’s who. She does a great job giving just the necessary information and backstory without a huge information dump.) With an entire summer (and then some) to spend in close proximity, anything is possible between these two stubborn rock stars, and you’d better believe the sparks fly and the pages heat up!
NICUnurse’s Rating: With her trademark sarcastic humor within a really angsty storyline, Abandon will have you alternately laughing out loud, sobbing, and wanting to throw your book (please don’t throw any e-readers, iPads, or computers!!) across the room at any moment. Needless to say, I was absorbed from the moment I started until The End and ignored all of my to-do list until I was done! I give Abandon by Rachel Van Dyken 4.75 out of 5 stars!
It’s a second chance rockstar romance!! I freaking love it. RVD has done it again! Dive in and fall in love!
This Seaside Pictures novella can absolutely be read as a stand-alone and I promise you will feel all the emotions from start to finish.
Abandon by Rachel Van Dyken is a novella and is the latest in the Seaside Pictures storyline. Ty and Abigail’s story is full of emotions, turmoil, and unbreakable bonds. As with other Seaside stories, friendship takes a staring role – the bromances are all there and accounted for.
As for Abigail and Ty, I enjoyed watching the emotional push and pull, along with the evolution of their past feelings mingled with their new-found truce. This second chance romance is everything we expect from RVD – romance, angst, love, and humor. Add in a few tears (and some cute kids) and it makes for a fantastic afternoon read.
It always amazes me how entrenched I become when reading Rachel Van Dyken books, no matter the length. It’s like she weaves this other world so beautifully that we can easily transport to Seaside within just a few pages.

I was thrilled to dive back into the Seaside world. I love these characters, and this novella felt like coming home to me. If you haven’t read this series, than this would be a fantastic way to dip your toes into it.
A heart-warming second chance story about Ty and Abigail. Two people who were meant to be, but just met to early. They were so in love, but they were not old enough to handle that kind of love. With all the pressure of fame, they just couldn’t handle everything.
I love the connection these two had with each other. I loved watching how they communicated with each other, and how they gave each other the time they needed to work things out. This is a great bonus story to an already amazing series. Just perfect!
