From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken comes a new story in her Seaside Pictures series¿ It’s not every day you’re slapped on stage by two different women you’ve been dating for the last year.I know what you’re thinking. What sort of ballsy woman gets on stage and slaps a rockstar? Does nobody have self-control anymore? It may have been the talk of the Grammy’s.Oh, … Grammy’s.Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that. I, Ty Cuban, was taken down by two psychotic women in front of the entire world. Lucky for us the audience thought it was part of the breakup song my band and I had just finished performing. I was thirty-three, hardly ready to settle down.Except now it’s getting forced on me. Seaside, Oregon. My band mates were more than happy to settle down, dig their roots into the sand, and start popping out kids. Meanwhile I was still enjoying life.Until now. Until my forced hiatus teaching freaking guitar lessons at the local studio for the next two months. Part of my punishment, do something for the community while I think deep thoughts about all my life choices.Sixty days of hell.It doesn’t help that the other volunteer is a past flame that literally looks at me as if I’ve sold my soul to the devil. She has the voice of an angel and looks to kill-I would know, because she looks ready to kill me every second of every day. I broke her heart when we were on tour together a decade ago.I’m ready to put the past behind us. She’s ready to run me over with her car then stand on top of it and strum her guitar with glee.Sixty days. I can do anything for sixty days. Including making the sexy Von Abigail fall for me all over again. This time for good.Damn, maybe there’s something in the water.

I love the Seaside crew!!! The Seaside series is the first books I ever read by Rachel. They continue to get better and better. I may be a little partial to Seaside as I live close by and visit often (looking for the famous people!)!
Ty and Abigail are great characters. You’ll fall in love with them both. You’ll want to smack them both upside the head and tell them to get their shit together. But they eventually figure stuff out. But will they be able to save their relationship? Some hurts are too bad to come back from.
Love me some Rachel Van Dyken and never miss a chance to read her books. Go grab up this series and start at the beginning and then grab the Eagle Elite series and devour the mafia!!!

Abandon is a novella to get introduced Rachel’s Seaside world to new readers and an amazing bonus to those who are already a fan of the series. And damn she didn’t disappoint! I flove this series, these characters so freaking much. I was laughing so hard one second and then full on bawling next. Rachel sure as hell know how to bring every damn emotion in her readers. I enjoyed every second of this rockstar romance.
Ty Cuban, bad boy rockstar and Abigail, his ex. When fame broke them apart, it left scars that runs too deep. What could go wrong then when they had to be with each other for three weeks?
A beautiful story of second chance and tragic young love.
I loved this novella! This was another fantastic read in the Seaside Pictures Series. The writing is flawless, the characters and plot are developed well and if you want to read as stand alone you absolutely could without feeling lost. Ty & Abigail have an unfinished past and when they reconnect sparks fly. The emotion and steam between these two was off the charts. They have some issues to work through but the passion and love between them eventually becomes undeniable and their HEA is inevitable. I adored this book and all the seaside gang! 5 STARS
Ty Cuban… SIGH. I was hooked from the very beginning when he’s slapped on stage! And the more I read, the more I fell in love with him, Von Abigail, and their story. They are explosive due to their past and all the heartbreak they’ve endured. When they have to work together for a summer, it seems like torture at first, and the tension is just everything! The fact that they’re both in Seaside, Oregon, makes everything that much better. This little town gives me all the feels with it’s character and all that goes on there. If you haven’t been introduced to this cute little place, don’t wait! Now’s a better time than ever with this novella… it’s a short read that will have you wishing it was longer. I know I did! So so good!
We are back in Seaside, my favorite books by Dyken have been from the Seaside Novels. There’s just something about these guys, they are best friends, and they are family.
Ty has been through a lot. Years ago, he lost his one true love. She walked away and never looked back. Until she comes crashing back into his life. Even though this is a novella, it was not short on feelings and passion. Abigail had her reasons; they were both young and not mature enough in the beginning. But I like to think that as you get older, you get a tad wiser.
This was a fun story; it wasn’t light-hearted. It was really heavy as most second chance romances are. The history, the heartbreaking part of their past. They have to forgive, to move on with each other again.
Overall, Four Boundless Stars.
This is such a great Seaside novella. It made me want to do a re-read of the series. So, I’ll be doing that as soon as I can.
This is Ty’s book. Don’t worry if this is your first Seaside, you won’t be lost because of the other characters. But you will want to read their stories after this one.
Ty and Abs have a history together that left both of them heartbroken ten years ago.
This book starts with them thrown back together again. And neither are happy about it.
It is a short, fast paced read.
Usually with novellas, I feel like I’m missing something and too much is left out of the book. But, not with the way Rachel writes! She will suck you in so fast and nothing is missing from the story and it doesn’t feel rushed.
I absolutely love this!
What a hard lesson to learn, never date 2 women at the same time. The spiraling and out of control has been happening for a while, but when your band mates demand you seek help or at least try to save your public image, what can you do, except concede. But what they don’t tell you is the root of your problems is also involved. Only, she doesn’t know it either…. This was a really good book and a quick read to get to the bottom of these characters story lines.
Rachel Van Dyken is one of my top 10 authors!! I haven’t ever read anything and been disappointed and this book makes me love her so much more. She has created a world at seaside and now we get Ty’s story. It’s one that is emotional, steamy and oh so amazing. Her words are like music that resonates deep within your soul.
You always expect more from RVD, but it amazes me how she can write in so many different genres. She’s truly an author of many talents.
Ty and Abigail have a past. They are thrown together and let the sparks fly!! They dance around the past, their emotions, and it is quite interesting to watch the whole story unfold!! It is one you don’t want to miss!!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Ty Cuban tells his story to the reader. He has attitude and you can feel that coming off the page. Abigail Von Leery lets the reader in on her impressions of Ty. By having the reader feel as if they are a part of the story is a great way to turn the story into a page-turner. It keeps us engaged in what’s happening.
I’m late to the game. I thought I was keeping up with what the author has in the works and I was floored when I saw how many books in this series I missed out on. What’s good about this story is that I didn’t feel lost. I did however want to get to know more about the men that work with Ty. Would love to know if the author has any plans to revisit the camp we get to know here. I didn’t feel as if things were brought to a close with that.
If you’re looking for a story with a rock star and a second chance at what he lost than you need to check this out. There’s a lot of emotion here and a rock star that shows us he’s a human being who’s not perfect and has done some things he’s not proud of. If you’ve never read any of Ms. Van Dyken’s books before than why not check out this novella. For some of us summer is winding down, the kids are going back to school and some time has opened up to read a short book – this can fill in some of that time. If you like some heat between the main characters you’ll get that here too. Then I would read this book again but I would play some music in the background. I’m left knowing I have a lot of catching up to do – looking forward to it.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
2 things to start. First, if you haven’t read a Rachel Van Dyken book, you need to correct that now. Secondly, these 1,001 Nights offerings are the PERFECT way to take a chance on an author or a series without having to read everything. Abandon is part of the Seaside Pictures series, which spun-off from Rachel’s wildly successful Seaside series; but it can be read as a standalone. So, with all that said let me tell you what I thought about Abandon.
This story is a second chance at its best. Ty Cuban and Von Abigail have a history. A rocky history. It’s so rocky that they pretty much detest the sound of the others name. Except for the fact that they both are still crazy about the other. So basically we are wrapping a second chance with an enemies to lovers, and man it was fantastic!!! The banter here is top notch, both between Ty and Abby as well as the rest of the Seaside cast of characters that are all playing a role here. Ty and Abby both have hurts that they can’t move past, both from how their relationship imploded as well as from life itself. Rachel is fantastic at making you feel everything, and she does such an amazing job here. Ty gutted me at times and I just wanted to wrap him in a big hug. Throw in the crazy good chemistry this pair is fighting and the shenanigans of their friends that just want them to be happy. Yeah it is a fantastic good time.
This was my first adventure into the Seaside Pictures series.
The cast …*sigh* they were the perfect family of misfits. It is unique when an author can get me so thoroughly invested in such a short time.
Van Dyken easily did so with Abandon.
Second chances – Forgiveness – Forever – all words for fools.
Ty once loved with all his heart. The day had finally come when he was going to get down on his knees announce his love and denounce his dream… Except before he could pledge his undying devotion the other half of his soul cast him aside. Shattered, broken and jaded he spiraled into an abyss of self-destruction and loathing. He eventually recovered physically – but there was nothing that would heal the broken heart he suffered.
Abigail… I am not too happy with her! She did what she thought was best for both their careers or at least that is the lie she tells herself when she walked away from Ty.
Love is such a fickle brat.
When fate (with a little help from their friends) brings the two together again sparks fly – tempers ignite -and old wounds are reopened.
Can Ty keep himself from spinning out of control?
Can Abigail reign in her temper and acknowledge her feelings?
Will this be the final act for both of them?
From the first slap to the closing kiss these two had my heart.
they were so caustic together yet at the same time they complimented each other.
The story line was fast-paced and easy to follow. Despite the short length I was invested in their HEA and couldn’t help but cheer them on.
First I’ve read of this series but I enjoy Rachel Vandyken books and this was filled with angst, sexual tension, friends, and loads of fun.
Gah I love this story so much!!! I was sucked in immediately. I felt the hurt and sadness that Abigail and Ty went through.
I love that we get to see past Seaside people in this book. I laughed, cried and hurt throughout this book. It is definitely worth the read.
It been so long since I read and loved the Seaside Pictures series and this novella has been like a family reunion that’s been a long time coming. I loved seeing my boys again <3
This novella is Ty Cuban's story. The spiralling rockstar who has never gotten over losing the love of his life Abigail Von a decade before. With his bandmates interference he is now face to face with the she devil and this time they may not come out of it unscathed.
Only critiscm is that this is a Novella as I could have read so much more of Abigail and Ty's fight at second chance but its quite the turbulent ride to get them to their HEA as it takes forever to bring the walls down.
The chemistry between Ty and Abigail is off the charts hot, the line even thinner between love and hate or more accurately love and heartbreak.
Well done Rachel for this well written novella. Its a quick, steamy read that will have you wanting to go back to seaside.
A summer filled with teaching young children to play guitar seemed like torture enough for rock star Ty, but add in the same 60 days working with the one woman who broke his heart years ago and the torture just got worse. But getting far away from Von Abigail is not in the cards. Will this be the time to right their wrongs and fall back in love? Or will this be the last nail in the coffin of Ty’s happiness? Although this book is short it certainly packs a punch. I fell in love with the characters form the opening pages and was very happy with the end results. I think I now need to read the books that started the series.
I just love when Rachel returns to Seaside — I feel like these are my people, my friends and I am always up for a visit with them. But if you have never read a Seaside book no worries, you can jump in here and get a wonderful taste of this world.
Abandon is a second chance romance that tugged at my heartstrings. Ty and Abigail were in love but their young age and fame ripped them apart. Now, years later, circumstances (also known as friends) have pushed them together. They appear to be like oil and water. They don’t mix well together. But underneath the hate and hurt is a love and passion that can not be denied.
While this book has a lot of feels that will pull on your heart it also has its fair share of lighthearted moments. We need to take a second to appreciate Group Texts from RVD. OMG She honestly writes the most hilarious conversations. I think I could read an entire book of them! And her newer strength. Writing kids. The scenes with children pop off the pages and just stick with you!
If you are an old fan of the Seaside gang or if you have never met any of them — this is a book you do not want to miss!
Omg Ty and Abs were everything!!!! I loved how despise everything love won! the angst of this book was amazing and the explosion of feelings was right on point!.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Rachel Van Dyken never disappoints! She creates these amazing, multilayered characters and stories that draw you in and refuse to let go!!
Abandon was an emotional rollercoaster ride that took your breath away one minute and had you screaming the next!!
I absolutely loved this novella for many reasons, first it was set in Seaside, where we got to catch up with old friends, then we finally got to see what Ty’s story was all about! I have to say Rachel Van Dyken knows how to pull the reader into the story and make you feel like part of the book! I loved all of these amazing, vibrant and eclectic group of characters!
The story centers around a summer music camp for kids at Seaside. Rachel was able to add fun and relatable moments throughout the book.
Ty and Abigail are both volunteering at the camp , which was great except they can not stand each other! After one misunderstanding years ago they’ve hated each other! All should be fine except somehow they end up rooming together! Ty and Abs in the same place—not good, sharing a condo—well things get out of control and the arguing and sexual tension is enough to start a fire!!
I highly recommend this book to all of Rachel’s fans and if you’re just now discovering RVD this is the perfect place to start!
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
If you’ve never read the Seaside Pictures series you can read this novella and not be lost. There’s quite a few characters in this book but the main focus is on Ty and Von Abigail (Abs.)
Ty and Abby were in a relationship years ago but they have a lot of bad blood between them. Toxic really until they’re forced to face their issues and come clean about their fears and feelings.
This novella is a quick read and their love story is really sweet once they work out their differences. Communication is key in any relationship and these two missed the mark their first go ’round. Now it’s their turn to make up for lost time.
