From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken comes a new story in her Seaside Pictures series¿ It’s not every day you’re slapped on stage by two different women you’ve been dating for the last year.I know what you’re thinking. What sort of ballsy woman gets on stage and slaps a rockstar? Does nobody have self-control anymore? It may have been the talk of the Grammy’s.Oh, … Grammy’s.Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that. I, Ty Cuban, was taken down by two psychotic women in front of the entire world. Lucky for us the audience thought it was part of the breakup song my band and I had just finished performing. I was thirty-three, hardly ready to settle down.Except now it’s getting forced on me. Seaside, Oregon. My band mates were more than happy to settle down, dig their roots into the sand, and start popping out kids. Meanwhile I was still enjoying life.Until now. Until my forced hiatus teaching freaking guitar lessons at the local studio for the next two months. Part of my punishment, do something for the community while I think deep thoughts about all my life choices.Sixty days of hell.It doesn’t help that the other volunteer is a past flame that literally looks at me as if I’ve sold my soul to the devil. She has the voice of an angel and looks to kill-I would know, because she looks ready to kill me every second of every day. I broke her heart when we were on tour together a decade ago.I’m ready to put the past behind us. She’s ready to run me over with her car then stand on top of it and strum her guitar with glee.Sixty days. I can do anything for sixty days. Including making the sexy Von Abigail fall for me all over again. This time for good.Damn, maybe there’s something in the water.

ABANDON by Rachel Van Dyken is book 3.6 in the Seaside Pictures Series. This is the story of Abigail Von and Ty Cuban. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book. Ty is a band and when two women he had been dating make a scene on stage he is put on hiatus in Seaside, Oregon giving guitar lesson. Abigail once was in love with Ty but he broke her heart. Now he is back in her site and she tries to keep to the hate that she has for him but it is getting hard because her old feelings isn’t so much in the past.
Quick hot second chance at love.
Ty and Abigail were a couple a decade ago and Ty wanted to make her his forever. Before he had the chance to do that she ripped his heart out of his chest and walked away without looking back. He’s a rockstar so he parties too hard, goes through women left and right and tries to forget her and get over her. None of it works though for him.
Abigail ripped her own heart out because she was scared with what she had with Ty. She was afraid of him breaking her heart so she beat him to it. She hasn’t got over him either so when she’s thrown in working with him at a kids camp she doesn’t know what to do.
These two still have the chemistry they had 10 years ago and then some. Will they be able to actually talk without looking into the past to see what went wrong but look forward to the what the future could hold?
Seeing the other characters were a blast and I literally laughed out loud in a few spots. I can’t wait for the next book of this series!
Van Dyken is at her best when introducing characters at their worst. Abandon is the best of the worst moments in the scope of Ty Cuban’s life. He’s hit rock bottom and doesn’t even realize it. This bad boy knows how to be the life of the party, but what happens when the good times have started to fizzle out? Enter Von Abigail. Ty is about to come face to face with his past. Will it be a match made in heaven or a heartache he lives to regret? A sexy second chance romance.
This story was fantastic! It was humorous but not quite rom-com. It had angst but not heart-breakingly so and it was really heartwarming! I haven’t read this series yet, but with all the secondary characters playing a roll in this story I am completely intrigued how they all got their HEA! I cannot wait to #binge asap!
Quick read told in dual POV, this made for a fantastic mid-morning read 🙂

Abandon is a great addition to Rachel Van Dyken’s Seaside Pictures series. It is a great stand-alone novella that brings the amazing world she created together. It made me have all the feels as well as want to start her Seaside series over again because I miss these amazing characters. Rachel has a way of creating a world that you never want to leave.
In this story you meet Ty and Abigail. Ten years ago, when they were starting out in their careers, they found each other. But everything soon fell apart. Disaster struck and nothing was left but hate and hostility. Now their so-called friends and bandmates have forced them to be together since they will go on tour later this year together.
This book made me laugh, cry and want to crawl into the book and lie with these characters. There is the perfect balance between combustible chemistry and animosity that I burned through the pages to find out what happened next. It is the perfect second chance/ enemies to lovers story. I can’t wait to see what Rachel has in store for us next.
I am such a fan of Rachel Van Dyken it isn’t even funny. It doesn’t matter if it is a full-length novel or a novella like Abandon, she always gives you a fantastic story, with all the feels and you finish the book looking forward to the next adventure she’s going to take you on!
Ty Cuban is the drummer for the band Adrenaline and he’s had a rough few months. In order to make amends, he heads to help with a summer music camp. Little does he know that the woman who broke his heart a decade ago is also going to be teaching at this camp. Did I mention she’s the one he’s never gotten over?
Abigail lost as much a decade ago as Ty did. She was feeling anything but secure in their relationship and much of the blame was placed squarely on the fact that his band was about to take off. She felt the best thing she could do for herself was leave, but it also tore her apart.
When the two are forced to be in close quarters while in Seaside for the music camp, emotions are heightened and the explosive nature of their relationship is showcased front and center. There is so much turmoil, hurt, anger and love all wrapped up in what they are feeling, it’s hard to keep up with the swinging emotions.
While this might be a novella, there is so much goodness packed into this short story. It’s always great when we get to go back to Seaside, Oregon to visit!
Guys I got my hands on an Advanced Reader Copy, or ARC, of this book and let me tell you… Ty Cuban is what dreams are made of! He’s a rocker with a heart. Who doesn’t love that?! Am I right ladies?!
Anyway, he’s a wounded fella! He was once upon a time in love with another rocker, Abigail Von, who left him just when he was about to propose.
Ty takes a break from the road with his band to teach at a summer music camp in Seaside, Oregon. When he arrives he finds that Abigail will also be teaching at the camp. Abigail is not too happy about the prospect of spending the summer with the one who got away.
All the angst and emotion are just fuel for one hot steamy summer. Especially when Abigail finds out her room arrangements were messed up and ends up staying with Ty.
Will love be enough to bring these two back together and mend what’s broken?! You have to read to find out silly but trust me you won’t be sorry!
Oh My! Oh My! Oh MY! Let’s just say 1001 Dark Nights just got darker. With Rachel Van Dyken bringing us back to her famed Seaside Oregon and the wonderful characters that grace the pages of her previous novels involving the many rock stars and actors of Seaside. 5-stars for this incredible novella and what a great edition to the 1001 Dark Nights series. Abandon focuses on Ty Cuban the drummer for rock band Adrenaline and his ex-girlfriend, his everything Abigail Von Leery (Von Abigail). For ten years the two rockers have been apart, and Ty’s feelings of Abandonment have continued to grow. Now Abigail is back in his life as he’s being forced to teach a music camp for kids and low and behold Abigail is there to teach too. They must get through a summer of making music fun for the kids without killing each other and tearing their bands apart. One, two, one, two, three, four… let the music, love and drama start!
I found this story sweet and endearing. I love the feistiness of both the hero and heroine. I loved that Ty owned his mistakes and loved with his whole being. He was a caring and loving human being. No matter how his aunt treated him, he still respected her and loved her. Most people would have left her in the dust, but he continued to take care of her. Abigail has many fears and chooses to run away from them instead of facing them. She is also a great friend to have. I loved how the band group rallied for each other and protected their patched-together family. I could not get enough of the back and forth bickering between Ty and Abs, it left me in stitches. I whipped through this book in one night. It’s a perfect second chance read.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Oh this was so so good!! Ty Cuban is your typical bad boy drummer, from the band Adrenaline, that enjoys all the perks…until some of his conquests get back at him in the public spotlight. Now he has to clean up his image per say as punishment and give guitar lessons for two months. He can try to deal with it…until his ex flame and crusher of his soul, Abigail Von Leery, is also volunteering with him!!! Can’t a rocker catch a break? This was a great romantic rockstar romantic comedy. Poor Ty, I really liked him and felt for what he was going through even though the reason he was there is his own fault. I was laughing throughout this book but it does also have sweet moments. This is a seaside pictures novella but can be read as a standalone & is part of the 1001 dark nights anthology. If you like naughty rock stars with a heart this is for you. Told in dual POV
