Aaron’s Mate: The Quinton Shifters Book #1 is the first book I’ve read by Abigail Raines and it was very entertaining.
Well written story with some twists in the plot, great characters you can almost relate too.
Aaron and Michelle have been flirting for the last several years they each know that they love the other with nothing romantic happening between then until it does, it’s supposed to be one night only, he’s a wolf shifter and she’s human nothing can come between them, or can it?
I enjoyed reading this book very much.
Can Forbidden Love for a Human Woman be Stronger than Loyalty to Clan and Family?
If you enjoy shifter romances, Aaron’s Mate by Abigail Raines is for you. This is a great start to a new series. Her descriptions and character developments are detailed and well crafted.
Aaron is a wolf shifter whose father was the Clan Alpha and his brother is the current Alpha. They are an extremely close-knit family who revere love of family and loyalty to Clan above all else. Aaron is enamored by Michelle who has worked in his office for the past 3 years. She is a talented accountant and a strong willed woman who is determined to work her way up and to be successful on her own merits in the world of business. She finds Aaron, her boss, to be very attractive and he is also drawn to her, the problem is she does not want people to think she “slept her way up the ladder” and he is forbidden to “fraternize with humans”. However, when Michelle landed a “huge” account for the firm Aaron invited her to lunch to celebrate her success. Their attraction to each other swelled to uncontrollable heights and one thing led to another… somehow Michelle ended up pregnant, but it is supposed to be impossible for a shifter to impregnate a human. Aaron must find a way to convince the clan that Michelle is legitimately his mate, but will they accept her or will they eliminate her in order to keep their hidden lives secret from humans? Aaron must find the answer to this mystery before it is too late to save Michelle. In the process clan loyalty and family love and loyalty will be tested. This story is filled with mystery, danger, treachery and of course love, and a few surprising twists. The suspense will keep you turning the pages until the end.
There are some hints that lead to possible events for subsequent books but this is a standalone. I am eagerly awaiting more in this series, and I recommend this book if you enjoy shifter romances.

This was a great story. The content was original and kept my interest throughout. I did not put it down. I read part of this story during the creation and could not wait to find the complete story. The characters Aaron and Michelle were good together. They did not have high drama that is often added to stories. It was believable and that is saying something for a shifter book. The family dynamic was great. The secrets were original and not really expected. I hope you read and enjoy this and many other tales that Abigail has written. I am ready for more. This could be at least a 4 part saga of the brothers.

Shifters and a workplace love affair — two of the best tropes in one
I loved the twists and turns this story provided. Complicate the already tough trope of a shifter with a workplace love affair, the family drama that ensues, & a medical mystery and you’ve got a lot to look forward to with this one.
Enjoy when you can read the book in one sitting…. either that or prepare for a sleepless night and make a big pot of coffee in the morning.
I received for an honest review from Booksprout
This was just a great read I loved everything about this read all his intentions flew out the window when so many things he believed to be true were not true I loved the attraction they had to each other it’s a must read

Beckmond, Rivens and Associates is one of the best accounting firms in the Pacific Northwest. It was Michele’s aim is to make partner one day if she didn’t do something stupid like fall in lust with Aaron, the office manager. But her mind and libido are dueling because as much as she wants Aaron, she wants his respect as an equal in the work place more. Aaron has been fighting his own battle of wills with his wolf for the past three years where Michelle, or Shell as he calls her, is concerned. Him and his wolf are in agreement, they want her but it goes against everything he’s been taught. Sex without any type of commitment or strings is the most he can hope for if that’s what he decides.
I love the way Abigail Raines can write a storyline that is so relatable it just sucks you in. Her characters have strong personalities yet are flawed with insecurities. This book has all that with the underlying plot flowing through. A great read and terrific start to a new series I can’t wait to finish.

There is an intensity between these two characters that the author really built on. It stresses the bond of attraction and mental acuity that they have for each other. I’m not sure I like the shifter rules for the pack, but some of them are typical of other books. I see Aaron growing up and standing up for what he know is right and what is his. His brother, Xander acknowledges the man that Aaron has become at the end of the story.
This is a quick, highly entertaining, action packed shifter romance filled with danger, mystery, tradition and forbidden passion…. really enjoyed this page turning, heart pounding and engaging journey filled with witty banter and exciting twists.
He is a wolf shifter and her boss. He is also born into an alpha family. shifter’s and humans do not mix there. But they defy everyone and date. Now you add in his pack, family, and another pack and you get a lot of trouble. Can they fight this and stay together? It has lots of excitement, emotions, surprises, drama and much more. I highly recommend it. I reviewed it for booksprout.
Another well crafted story from Abigail Raines. As usual, the characters are well crafted and great start to a new series.
Aaron has been drawn to Michelle ever since she joined the company three years ago, but he can’t do anything about it. The company does not approve of dating employees and as the boss he must be above reproach, besides she’s human and it’s against shifter law to become involved with a human.
Michelle is definitely attracted to her boss and wonders what it would be like to kiss him, but the company prohibits fraternization and she likes her job to much to take the risk.
Then, after Michelle lands a big, lucrative client, Aaron takes her out to lunch to celebrate her success in landing the new client – but the lunch leads to something else. Then, Michelle is pregnant. But humans can’t get pregnant from a shifter. What will happen when the Clan finds out he got a human pregnant? They wouldn’t termate her, would they?
This was a good, entertaining shifter romance and deserves five stars. If you enjoy shifter romances, this is for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I loved the main characters in the book along with his family, especially his Mother! (Although at times, I found, Michelle a little whiny and weak, (especially after such a build-up of a strong, confident, career-minded individual), but will chalk it up to hormonal issues!) I loved the storyline and plot and just overall, enjoyed the HEA, Shifter genre.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series and see a few characters that would make a great book!! I eagerly await the next book in the series!

Michelle has had a thing for her boss Aaron for most of the three years they have worked together at their CPA firm.
But a relationship at work…….
The muscle bound man has more than one secret up his sleeve though. He is a wolf shifter, and being together with humans is a no no for his whole regional clan of packs. Of course, he is also the son and brother of a pack alpha.
Sadly for Michelle, once they cross a certain line, and their relationship becomes obvious, she is right that people always look down on the woman in a relationship, making the assumption she slept her way up.
As things develop for the two, relations get dicey with her and his family, pack, and a lone wolf or two linked to another clan.
some fierce connection, fighting, love and loyalty are the only things that can get them through.
a steamy m/f shifter romance.
A sexy story I enjoyed reading on Kindle Unlimited that I honestly enjoyed!
# Some spoilers
Michelle is a hard working woman proving herself and outstanding ability to do her job, in the accounting for managed by Aaron. Romance in the office is never an easy and straight forward wooing, without the “I’m a werewolf, you’re a human, your people would slaughter mine again if they knew we existed”. The first two pages of this book had me laughing loudly, and it just got better with each chapter. The sex scenes were full of feelings and very informative of who do what, how, and where. I felt for these two starcrossed lovers. Lunas pep talk had me in stiches! (Luna points two fingers at my eyes and back at her own. “Be the ball. You can do it. I believe in you. Get that tax man dick.”) and the comradery and goofiness from the brothers kept the story upbeat and my giggles erupting. This was truly a wonderful start to new favorite series of mine and i will be rereading and waiting impatiently for the next part.

This caught my interest from the beginning to the end. Michelle works as a accounting exec. in Aaron’s firm. Michelle always was attracted to her boss Aaron who’s a wolf shifter and Aaron’s is attracted to Michelle. Aaron has one rule from his clan no hanky-panky with humans, but one night after celebrating a deal, they have a night of passion. Now there is consequences which our couple have to overcome because as far as Aaron’s people know- no human has gotten pregnant by a shifter. Can their love overcome those opposed against them? This is a well written story that I enjoyed reading which had drama and great characters that is introduced in this series. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.
Talk about Romeo and Juliet with fur!
OK so only Romeo aka Aaron has fur and that’s the problem. Michelle is human. But after a night of hot monkey (er wolf) sex – she finds out shes pregnant – but that’s IMPOSSIBLE!
I loved this book. The way that poor Michelle and Aaron have been fighting their feelings forever – and the way that Aarons wolf keeps driving him insane with his wolf’s feelings and instincts -it made me melt like a chocolate button on a hot day.
I also loved the twists and turns – not to mention the bombshell – that runs through their story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I know I’ll enjoy hearing more about the Tremblay boys!
