The first in a new series by USA TODAY bestselling author Leighann Dobbs
Tourist season is about to start, and murder is the last thing on the minds of the locals in Mooseamuck Island, Maine… but that’s about to change.
When local psychic Zoila Rivers is found dead at the zen garden, retired police consultants Dominic Benedetti and Claire Watkins are forced to team up to catch the killer. … forced to team up to catch the killer. Too bad Claire and Dom don’t always see eye to eye.
But with an island full of locals who all have secrets, Claire and Dom have to put aside their differences in order to solve the case before the police arrest the wrong person and a killer goes free.
Will Claire and Dom figure out whose secret was worth killing for in time to stop the killer from claiming another victim?

I just finished this book. It was very well written where the killer wasn’t obvious until the end.
I read many of Leighann’s series and enjoy them all.
This is the first time I have read anything by this author. Will definitely look for more of her books.
To me this book is only ok. I say that because i thought it was kind of slow and repetitive. Plot and characters are pretty basic. I like my characters to be more fun and zany that these so I will not be continuing on with this series.
Crab Cove on Mooseamuck Island, Maine is where
we find many retirees. Among them: Claire Watkins,
a retired criminal psychologist and a Dominic
Benedetto, a retired criminal investigator who will
work together solving the murder of the Island’s
resident psychic, Zoila Rivers. Zoila was found
murdered in the Island’s Zen Garden by the
garden’s caretaker.
I enjoyed roaming the fictional Island with the
many interesting, well fleshed out, colorful and
small village type characters. Some were quirky.
It was fun helping weed out suspects.
An entertaining, enjoyable read full of humorous
antics as suspects are described and eliminated.
A Maine Coon cat which was a bundle of black
and brown fur named Porch Cat played an
significant role within the story.
When a retired criminal psychologist and a retired investigator decide the police have arrested the wrong person, what results is an unorthodox investigation that could get them in trouble before they come up with the culprit!
Zen for Murder is an entertaining, quick read which will undoubtedly keep you turning pages. Oh, and the cast of characters includes a “just your average” Maine Coon called Porch Cat who has a knack for finding clues. I highly recommend this cozy!
As with all her books, a wonderful read
Very fun. I especially like that it’s a couple of more mature people solving the crime 🙂
It was a wonderful story. They characters are great.
Claire and Dom both worked for law enforcement agencies but are now retired when there is a murder on the island where they now live. They wonder if they are too old to help solve this crime
I enjoyed this book immensely. I couldn’t go to sleep until I found out who Committed the crime!
A fun cozy mystery. I enjoyed this first book in the series. Will be looking at reading more.
A very nice cozy light read
I have read several series by Leighann Dobbs and have enjoyed them all. This latest one is just as much fun to read as previous ones. Can’t wait to see what the main characters are up to next, as well as the cast of supporting characters in the series. I recommend that if you haven’t read any of her books that you start.
Great book!
Boring and slow
I have started reading Cozy Myseries and really like the easy reading. I know there is not anything funny about murder but these stories are good mysteries without being gory and too serious. A Zen for Murder was a really good story and good characters.
This was a fun book. Very enjoyable
Cute, easy read.
Did not guess who did it.
I liked the use of older characters that treat them as intelligent human beings, not as bumbling.
