Isaac and Peyton were high school sweethearts until he stepped back and encouraged her to follow her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. Now 16-years later Peyton has returned to her home town as a guest dancer for the Christmas production of Nutcracker, and the first person she crosses paths with is Isaac who is a single dad and is collecting his 5-year old daughter from dance school. The chemistry between them is still sizzling and undeniable, but will they take a 2nd chance at love? This is a well written story which is a perfect read for the festive holidays. This story is sweet, entertaining, and with family love, which all leads to an all-round wonderful tale. I look forward to reading more from this talented author and recommend this story for all readers.
Peyton and Issac had been high school sweethearts. But, when Peyton had her chance to follow her dream by moving to NYC to become a principal ballerina in the New York City Ballet, Issac let her go and both moved on with their lives.
16 years later, Peyton is temporarily back in Lubbock, Texas to take on the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy for a month. With just one random meeting, both Peyton and Issac feel like they did all those years ago. But, they only have a month . . . and, Issac has a young daughter.
The question is not whether or not they are in love, but how can they make it work when they are 2,000 miles apart and neither can easily leave their world behind?
This was truly a magical Christmas story! I loved that the Nutcracker was the backstory for all of the action.
Peyton has everything she wants until she realizes how much she is missing when she is home for a month. And, Issac realizes just how much he needs Peyton in his life. While he adores being a father, he has room in his heart for more. Isaac’s daughter, Aly is adorable and precocious and I loved her!
Romantic and sweet with a dash of sexy tossed in, A Wright Christmas was filled with wishes, dreams, and holiday magic! 5 stars!
Give me a Christmas romance, and I become as excited as a four-year-old seeing Santa’s delivery. K.A. Linde delivers a frothy, gooey romance that will make you smile and swoon.
Peyton and Isaac were high school lovers who split up only because she wanted to go to New York to pursue her dream of being a prima ballerina with a major company. Isaac supported this decision, but as much as he moved ahead with his life, the ensuing years left him missing Peyton. She, too, missed him. Now, sixteen years later, she returns to Lubbock and sees Isaac for the first time since she departed. He isn’t alone, however; he has a young daughter, who just happens to love ballet herself.
Linde telegraphs what will happen between the two, so you know the “mystery” of their reconnection is not the point here. Rather, you are meant to enjoy watching Isaac and Peyton reconnect. You should cheer them on and swoon as all those teenage feelings return with the maturity that 16 years brings. You will sigh all the romantic sighs. You also will delight in seeing other characters from the Wright universe, and, even better, K.A. Linde will pique your curiosity about a possible new Wright world coupling.
And there is Christmas! Nutcrackers and hot cocoa and snow! This, indeed, is a very (w)right Christmas.
A single dad romance is one of my all time favorites, add a holiday to the story makes it that much more fun to read.
Peyton left Issac behind almost 20 years ago to follow her dream as a professional ballerina. Present day, Peyton is back in Texas to dance the role of the sugar plum fairy in local theatre production of The Nutcracker. She runs in to Issac right off the bat, where she also meets his adorable daughter Aly.
Their wonderful second chance romance blooms again after all their time apart. The chemistry these two have has never dimmed, the love these two have for each other is one of a kind. Make sure you have time to sit and read, you will not want to put their story down. As always, it’s so much fun to get a glimpse at past characters and their lives.
What an absolutely delightful early Christmas present! A visit with the Wright’s along with a warm, sweet romance to warm your heart, like a delicious cup of hot chocolate with all the trimmings!
KA Linde’s love of ballet and, particularly The Nutcracker, ties the story together, bringing Isaac and Peyton’s story to magical life. This book is a tonic which has made me feel warm all over
I was so excited to be back with the Wright family and Ms Linde did not disappoint, A Wright Christmas was everything I expected and so much more. It seems a while since I spend time with one of my favourite families and this book had me falling in love with them all over again.
This is single dad Isaac and Peyton’s story, it’s a second chance romance that has all the feels you want in a book that’s full of love and set in the magical holiday season.
Peyton is back home to dance in the Nutcracker and the last person she expected to see was Isaac the man who was her first love and who still holds a piece of her heart.
Isaac’s life revolves around his adorable little girl but when he comes face to face with Peyton and the dance studio he wasn’t prepared for old feelings rising to the surface but will he risk both his and his daughter’s happiness with what could be a short fling…..
This book touched me on so many levels, I smiled at the classic one liners only a child can deliver, I swooned and I held my breath a lot as this couple try to see if their timing is right this line around. I loved meeting the new characters and catching up with the old and I highly recommend this gem.
I loved this book! it really got me into the holiday spirit, Miss Linde wrote a sexy story that will have you craving for more, also I loved the cameo that I got to see, it made me giddy!
Who doesn’t love a second chance romance? This one will pull at your heart strings and get in the festive spirit.
At 17, Peyton Medina, left everything behind to become a professional ballerina. Including Isaac Donohue, her high school sweetheart. 16 years later, Payton finds herself back in Lubbock, Texas to star in The Nutcracker.
What she didn’t expect was to run into him on her first day in the studio, or that he has a 5 year old daughter. But Peyton is only in town for a month, she has no business in getting involved with anyone let alone Isaac and his adorable daughter.
But old feelings spring to life and now Peyton needs to decide what direction the rest of her life will take.
Definitely on-click now to find out what happens.
A Wright Christmas is a heartwarming, lighthearted book with wonderful characters. Peyton and Isaac were high school sweethearts, however Peytons love of ballet saw her move away. Needless to say its many years later and reconnecting has never been so sweet. Isaac, of course is a very caring single dad, whose responsibilities make having a relationship a little difficult. Can they do the long distance thing or should they just let bygones be bygones?
Peyton is an accomplished dancer with a blooming career and she has some important decisions to make. Can real life be the ultimate fairytale? Is true love meant to be?
I really really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing past characters and the whole storyline just warmed my heart! This is a second chance romance at its finest!
Isaac and Peyton shared a past and the moment they see each other again they quickly realize the feelings they had were still there.
It was clear that Isaac and Peyton hadn’t fallen out of love with each other and for the most part they both made their feelings clear. Isaac was sweet and incredibly charming but it was the love he had for his daughter that stole my heart. Peyton and Aly also shared an instant connection over their love of ballet.
This was a pretty quick read loaded with sweet moments as the characters got their second chance with their first love. Although I enjoyed it, I wish Isaac and Peyton had spent more time together.
A Wright Christmas is a delightful story that is perfect for this time of year. I haven’t as yet read the other Wright family novels and I found this worked very well as a standalone. I’m now planning and looking forward to reading the other connected books in the near future.
I love the relationship that Peyton and Isaac have and I’m certain that all readers will be rooting for them to find a way to be together. I absolutely loved the storyline too. What I also enjoyed about this second chance romance is that there was none of the usual angst that usually happens in a romance novel when a couple originally splits, which meant that when Peyton and Isaac find each other again, their rekindling was sweet and for me that was a refreshing change. However, this story didn’t bring out the emotions that I usually feel when reading, and I desperately missed this.
The secondary characters all added to the story perfectly – especially Aly. I loved the scenes that she is in and witnessing Isaac with her was wonderful.
This is a good Christmassy themed story that I do recommend to you to read. I award A Wright Christmas 3.5 stars. I feel it would be perfect for reading on a Sunday in front of a warm fire and I’m certain that it will leave you feeling warm on the inside too.
he Nutcracker, Christmas lights, cookie making, and time with family plus a swoony single dad and a second chance at love? Sounds like the makings of a great Christmas love story! A Wright Christmas is a light, sweet read- with ample cuteness and swoony moments, an adorable 5 year old, a dash of humor, plenty of team, a little sprinkle of the festive spirit, and two characters that you just can’t help but root for.
This second chance love story begins when professional ballerina Peyton returns home for a month to guest dance in her Texas town’s Christmas production of the Nutcracker. She left Lubbock behind over 16 years ago, never looking back as she pursued her NYC dreams of being a dancer. But she left more than her family behind- she also left behind her first love- Isaac. The boy who let her go, who refused to stand in the way of her dreams. Sure enough, she quickly bumps into Isaac when she returns home, but not in the place she expected: at the ballet studio while Isaac is picking up his 5 year old daughter. Their unresolved feelings never went away- and even though these two are adults now and live totally different lives, the love between them still shines. They sweetly, but reluctantly, rekindle their romance, but the problems that existed before have never gone away, their priorities are still misaligned. Peyton still has dreams in NYC, and they now have something even more important at risk- the happiness of Isaac’s little girl.
The love story here is tender and sweet- with a bit of an instalove feel, but that is because these two have a history. The chemistry builds naturally, we have some delightful side characters, and Isaac is SO DREAMY. And as a dad? OH man, ovaries exploding. He’s kind, empathetic, sexy, considerate, and so forgiving. And he is so devoted to Peyton, despite years apart. He’s so likable immediately, but Peyton took longer for me to figure out- mostly because what we know about her is her career, and I felt like we didn’t get to know her as well until we see her start to interact at the dance school and with Isaac, then she had more dimension. They’ve got a warm little sizzle between them – their relationship both sweet and sexy. But, I did find myself having to suspend disbelief about their time apart- they seemingly ended civilly and Isaac knows all of Peyton’s family, yet they had no contact in 16 years and Peyton knew nothing about his life. That contrasted with how quickly they feel back together felt a smidge easy- but I also appreciate the lack of hostility of anger. IN fact, Isaac still respects and supports her decision. SEE? Dreamy.
This love story is one of second chances- of compromising and determining when love matters enough to make it work, even if it isn’t easy or even when you have to give a little. A mature kind of love. The way the story ended up was unexpected but charming- and even though I wanted a smidge more Christmasy stuff (it was less about Christmas and more just happened to be Christmas), I love nothing more than seeing people fall in love (or in this case, fall in love again) during the holidays! A sweet, charming read that will give you some swoons and some holiday feels.
Sometimes we have to make sacrifices for those we love. We have to let go even though we don’t want to. Isaac said goodbye to Peyton seventeen years ago when she left to pursue her career as a ballerina. Now she is back and the love he felt as a teenager has never gone away. She is only back for a month but he will use that time to rekindle that love and hope for a second chance. Her life is in NY with her dance company but she has not forgotten what she had with Isaac. Isaac and Peyton have grown into mature adults and the love they shared is still there. It is rare to get a second chance but when it happens you have to take the leap. Both Isaac and Peyton know their lives have changed and their responsibilities have also changed but they can’t ignore the feelings that are still there.
Once again K A Linde does an amazing job with these characters. To see the love they shared all those years ago still exist today and continues to grow. Isaac was willing to let her go all those years ago but now that she is back even for a short time he is not letting go. He will do anything to make this happen. Peyton is his forever and he will not lose her again. Peyton also realizes that Isaac is her forever but she is torn between her life and her dream in NY and her family in Texas. How can she have both. Sometimes we have to sacrifice for love but will she have to sacrifice. But in the end whatever sacrifice she or Isaac will make will be so worth the love they share and the forever they will have together.
A Wright Christmas is a second chance at love that will have you glued to every page until the last word. A true 5 star read.
5 Star review of A Wright Christmas by K.A. Linde
Having read all the previous books in this series I was excited when I learnt that there was going to be a new one. I fell in love with the Wright family and their friends and I couldn’t wait to dive into this story.
This is single dad Isaac and Peyton’s second chance at love story and is centered around the most magical time of the year which was an added bonus. Returning home for a month, ballerina Peyton is shocked when she comes face to face with her first love and the man she has never gotten over Isaac and his adorable little daughter Aly.
Do the issues that pulled them apart and in different directions years ago still exist ? Or could they finally have a chance at a life together?
Although a novella, K.A. Linde has woven a story of romance, love and second chances that was heart warming and entertaining. It was also great to see some familiar faces pop up whilst reading.
Great holiday story to get you in the mood for the holidays! 5 stars for this one!

When she sees he has a daughter, she thinks he’s found his love and is happy, but when she learns more about him, she can’t stay away, no matter that she’s heading back to New York after the holidays.

The Wright family is near and dear to my heart! I love their extended family like Isaac and it was so fun reading his story. I could not get enough! I was so happy that it’s was a full book!
Peyton was amazing as the heroine of this story. She seems flawless and is perfection. But this story reveals all and I loved her character.
The chemistry from the past with Isaac and Peyton exploded and you knew that somehow someway they had to be together. I could not put this book down! I loved that we had the Wright brothers along for the ride. The ending had me smiling! #MustRead2020
When Peyton comes home from NY to dance in her hometown’s Nutcracker, the prima ballerina is left shell shocked to know that the boy she left behind 15 years ago is now a single father of an adorable 5 year old that is also in the production.
