wow…a great book!
Heart rendering story of husband prisoner for ponzu scheme. Life altering heartache he caused his family and the way they handled each new trial.
I thought this was a good book and the ending very unpredictable and grace filled!
The story was strong and made you want to keep reading . The ending was a surprise but very satisfying.
I found this book encouraging. I appreciated that the main character was well developed and changed over time, as did some of the lesser characters. The best friend was hilarious. Several of the characters were faces with hard decisions and did not alway choose wisely, so they seemed like real people.
A from riches to rags story. It does have some life lessons in the story.
Wonderful read, shows God’s forgiveness and how humans being will react in a very difficult situation.
I cried & cried at different times in this book but was glad at how it turned out. The story points out how much Theodore Massey’s wrong choices affected so many people because we reap what we sow but it is sad that the families of the wrong pay along with the person that messes up but that is the way in real life too! But I am glad it also …
I really like this book. The characters came alive and were like friends. It was hard to put down and when it ended, I wanted more. Highly recommend this book. Kellie Coats Gilbert did a lot of research to make this story interesting and expose the damaging affects of the ponzi scam and the fallout left for the family members, friends, etc. to …
I liked the book a lot, although it was hard to identify with the excessively wealthy characters. Interesting because I’ve known a somewhat similar situation. I would definitely recommend it!
I was left wanting more. Very abrupt ending.
Great read about finding a way to recreate who you are. The heroine made life changing decisions but the ending was the true inspiration.
This book really presented a side to the situation not easily seen. Her strength was admirable.
Never read this author before, but will be reading more.
I had a hard time finishing this book. It kept repeating same storyline, and I don’t think the main character was very believable. One minute she is staying with her husband and supporting him, the next she is leaving him and getting a divorce. It also gave a very negative view of the church and how it is not there for people when they really need …
Great book!
Great story of how greed impacts so many family members – the choices and adjustments they must make due to a vastly changed lifestyle. In the end, what is really important? Pride or family? Wealth or family? Appearances or family?
This was a really good book. I don’t give many five stars but this one qualifies.
Strong women rock
Excellent writing of a realistic tragic event that tore a family apart and how they suffered then survived. Nothing was sugar coated, so it was very believable and inspirational. I enjoyed it very much.
