A Wizard’s Choice: The Magicals Series, #2 by Maya Tyler is such an amazing story that I have read. This is book number two in this amazing series and I can not wait to read more. I sat on the edge of my seat from start to finish and I loved reading it. I highly recommend this sotry to all.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
If you had a choice would you love as a witch or human? That’s what our mc in this book has to choose from in this well written paranormal romance! A magical story with emotions, action, conspiracy, all walks of paranormal beings, and some fascinating characters! An intriguing read that I really enjoyed!
Kurtis is an unlikely hero in this story that centers on the feud between the fairies and the wizards. Sheltered by his grandfather, Kurtis has an almost childlike innocence about him, but he can be depended upon to act when necessary. The first part of this epic focuses on the story “The Vampire’s Tale”. It is repetitious to anyone who has read the first story. That segment ends, and “A Wizard’s Choice” story follows, focusing on Kurtis and his parentage and how he fits into the world of the magicals. There is a plethora of fascinating characters introduced including the insane grandmother, Helene, parents Niall and Amelie, and Alina. The plot is fascinating with several unexpected twists. There are several stories going on at the same time in this novel, turning a good story into chaos that isn’t always easy to follow. A fun story, it will be fascinating to see what Ms. Tyler has in store for us next.
What a choice that apprentice Warlock, Kurtis Warde, is being forced to make. Love or peace. If he had his way he would pursue his own dreams and the lovely vampire, Dee. But to do that he would have to leave The Circle, and all those he cares about at a dangerous time. There has always been trouble between the Wizards and the Fairies but things are ramping up. So now he my decide to go with his heart or try and help keep the peace.
This is a great paranormal romance studded with conspiracy and action while the main character tries to decide his life’s path. The characters are well crafted, interesting and with distinctive personalities that draw you into the book like a moth to a flame. I read this book in one sitting because the story was so engrossing. The narrative was amazing displaying the author’s imagination and creativity, as it went through different times, giving a great history of the feud while still focusing on Kurtis’s impossible decision. It is the first book in a long time where I did not know who should end up with him. This book is magical. If you like paranormal romances then try this book.

I enjoyed reading the second book in the series, although it can be a stand alone book. The relationship between Kurtis and Dee is one they figure out together about their family ancestry. Whether to follow his own path or another is something you will just have to read to find out!!

A Wizard’s Choice is the second installment from The Magicals series and my first introduction to Maya Tyler. I enjoyed this fun tale. I was entertained by Kurtis’ story throughout. I thought the plot was intriguing and writing style different, which I found to be quite refreshing.
I am giving A Wizard’s Choice four and stars. I would love to go back and read the previous book of the The Magicals series to find out what had happened previously.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
Kurtis Warde is a wizard’s apprentice but he doesn’t want to be a wizard. He is only going through the motions and the training to appease his grandfather. Kurtis feels that he owns his grandfather because he took him in as a baby and raised him. Kurtis doesn’t want to disappoint his grandfather who is a wizard and part of The Circle. It has always been taken for granted that Kurtis would become a wizard-like his grandfather and join The Circle. What will Kurtis do? Will he become a wizard-like his grandfather or will he leave The Circle to follow his own plans?
Kurtis was raised by his grandfather since he was a baby not knowing who his parents were or if they are still alive. Kurtis wants to find out if who his parents are and if they are still alive to do so he contacts a young woman Alina who is clairvoyant and who may be able to help him find his parents. Alina uses her powers to take us back to the past to learn who Kurtis’s parents are and to learn about their lives and how they met. Who are Kurtis’s parents? Are they still alive? Why did they leave him?
A Wizard’s Choice takes us from the present to the past giving us two stories in one. In the past, we get to know Amelie and Niall’s story and how they met. In the future we get to know Kurtis and Alina’s story and who they are and how they met. A Wizard’s Choice is very easy to follow from the past to the present and vice versa you always know if you are in the past or the present without any difficultly at all.
A Wizard’s Choice is a fast-paced read that kept me hooked from beginning to end from the past to the future flipping the pages enjoying every minute of Kurtis and Alina’s story plus the added bonus of Amelie and Niall’s story. A Wizard’s Choice is brilliantly written and the world-building is just as brilliant. I can’t wait to read more in the world of The Magicals.
I would recommend A Wizard’s Choice to all fans of the paranormal and romance.
