A Witchy Bakeoff #6 – Another interesting addition to the series. I found this story easy to read, interesting and entertaining. Good mystery, good dialog and good characters. Adele is such a nice person in this book. I contacted the author to review her books and received this through Booksprout. 4*
A Witchy Boxed Set – This set contains the first two books of the Harper Grant Mystery series: A Witchy Business and A Witchy Mystery. Both books are well written, quickly read and entertaining. The mysteries are well handled, but even with the twists and kinks, I figured out the baddies. I had fun with Harper and her adventures; she’s a likable character and she continues to develop with each book. Her family, friends and community are just interesting and likable, too, and grow more on their own through their involvements.
The story lines of both books keeps the reader immersed in the pages. There’s no stupidity, just naivety here and there. The stories are clean, but there’s well done touches of sexual interest, not tension yet, between Harper and the Deputy. I’m interested in reading the rest of the series, since they’re my kind of relaxing to read witches. 4*
A Witchy Business #1 – Fun to read. This book is well written, quickly read and entertaining; good humor. I had fun with Harper; she’s a likable character and she does develop with each book. Her family and community are interesting, likable and steady growing, too. The story line kept me immersed in the pages; really the stuff Harper puts herself in and what happens to her keeps you reading. There’s no stupidity on her part, things just happen. The mystery was well done and many twists are thrown at the reader, but I still figured the correct baddie. This is a clean story. 4*
A Witchy Mystery #2 – More humor. This book is well written, quickly read and entertaining with more humor. I still had fun with Harper; she’s a likable character and she does keep developing. Her family, friends and community are interesting, likable and steady growing, too. This story line kept me immersed in the pages; Harper doesn’t fail to put and find herself in situations, which just keeps you reading. There’s no stupidity on her part, things just happen. The mystery was well done and many twists are thrown at the reader, but I still figured the correct baddie. The story is clean, but there’s well done touches of sexual interest, not tension yet, between Harper and the Deputy. 4*
Harper Grant and the Poisoned Pumpkin Pie #5: This is a short story filled with humor, magic and laughs. This time there isn’t a murder, but there’s an investigation that gets stopped when a big investigation happens. Harper uses a little magic and wonders if her magic caused the poisoning. Good for a coffee break or a little down time; very relaxing. Still clean. This short can also be found in Witch or Treat, a collection of paranormal stories. 4*
Another really good installment in the witchy cozy saga with grandma and her super competitive nature. Same fun characters with a whole new story. I love this series.

I just love how you really have no idea who the killer is and just when you think you have it, nope guess again. Harper, her sister and Gran and fantastic characters and they get up to so much trouble without trying and also Gran will throw you under the bus to make it seem you did something wrong and not her! Be ready for one hell of a good murder mystery that has a great mix of mystery and laughs.

What a fun read! Totally enjoyable and wonderful characters! A murder at a bake-off at the Spring Festival has Harper trying to get a ghost closure so she can move on. Lots of fun twists in pursuit of the true killer. I highly recommend reading this.

Another book of the Harper Grant series, where she is helping ghosts to pass on by solving their murder. This time it gets close and personal when during a bake-off her grandmother is accused of having murdered a rival baker – her arch-nemesis Adele Silva.
With surprising discoveries on the way of finding the murderer the book keeps the reader hooked and entertained with many of the antics of Grandma Grant and Harper’s mishaps when she is trying to do magic.
A good read, entertaining and fun to read. It can be read as a stand-alone, but knowing the characters from other books makes the book deeper and more fun to read.

Grandma Grant has always had a fierce competitive streak, and the pumpkin pie festival competition led to no winner, so settled nothing between her and her rival Adele. So now the competition between the ladies is even more fierce, and cranked up another notch, due to new arrival, Stacie Sutton.
Grandma Grant manages to threaten Adele very publicly after her lucky wooden spoon went missing – likely stolen by Adele.
Sadly, during the baking competition, Adele was stabbed in the chest in the restroom. After a tense verbal exchange with the Chief, Grandma Grant is taken into custody for questioning, when she refuses questioning without her lawyer.
Turns out her friend Franklin is a Wizard lawyer. He teaches the ladies a few new magical skills, that promptly get them in trouble.
But who is behind the murder of Adele? Grandma Grant was livid about the loss of the spoon, but she did not kill over it. Adele had a daughter and a nasty son in law with money issues, but were they that far gone?
There were other connections in her life that Adele dismissed, who might have been credible threats – more than one someone else close to her desperate for money to improve their situation — or just determined to hold onto as much money as possible.
Franklin the Wizard lawyer may prove his worth to the benefit of more than one normal.
Intense murder plot with humor and wicked crazy mixed in – great KU read!
I received an advance copy from Booksprout. I read the story on Kindle Unlimited.
This is a great story as a standalone.
Once I was hooked on the series though, I own several of the books, and read the others on Kindle Unlimited –
a series that somehow manages to be a mostly fun mix of chaos, sadness, real insight into human character, and muddled romance – plus magic use that is a lot of fun – gigantic sunflowers bursting through greenhouse roofs, and a novice witch landing on the roof of car are a great laugh the way the author, Danica Britton, writes them!
Harper Grant would love a little quiet but thanks to Granny Grant and her obsession with winning the Abbott Cove Spring Bake-off she spends more time trying to keep granny out of trouble. Now Granny has gone and done it she accused her rival Adele Silver of stealing her spoon and they had a huge row now Adele has cooked her last dish and Granny is suspect number one. Man Harper is got her work cut out for her on this one but with a witch a wizard and a ghost surely she can catch the real killer and i don’t mean death by chocolate.

This is the first book from the series that I have read. It was not hard to catch up on the skill/abilities or the past happenings of the characters. The bake off brought out the competitive genes of the contestants. The mystery to be solved seemed like it was going to be open and shut to me, but as I kept reading I had to reconsider who the antagonist would be. Again this was a good read and any fan of witchy cozy mysteries would enjoy.

Cozy Bake-Off Murder Mystery
This book is the 6th in a series and the first that I have read. It is cute and fairly simplistic. I found it a bit annoying that although it is set in the USA, it is full of British spellings, terms, and usage. The plot is interesting, but a bit trite. There is nothing new or fresh in this book, but it is fun. There are several red herrings and not much is what it seems. I received this ARC for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
Harper and Jess are up to their eyeballs in this baking competition and they are not even contestants, but their grandmother is. Grandma Grant is determined to win. When her lucky spoon disappears she accuses fellow competitor Adele of stealing it. Adele is murdered and Harper starts investigating as Grandma is now a suspect for murder. Luckily Harper can see ghost and asks Adele to help her solve the murder. The quirky lawyer they contact at Grandma’s request is strange and funny, he teaches the girls a new magic spell that transports them, and the things that happen are hilarious. If you like fun filled books, then this is one for you. This is the first book I have read in this series and I was not lost at all. I received a ARC from booksprout and am leaving a review because I want to.
This is a great cozy mystery series. Harper Grant and her sister, Jess, are witches living in Abbott Cove. Grandma Grant lives in that area as well. She is feisty and bold and no one can keep her quiet — unfortunately. The Abbott Cove Spring Bake-off is about to begin and Grandma is determined to win the Cake Bake-Off no matter what! She feels she can’t lose since she has her trusty wooden spoon to help! But when the spoon goes missing, Grandma immediately and quite loudly blames one of the competitors, Adele Silver. She tells all who will listen what she thinks of Adele and her sneaky tactics.
As luck would have it, Adele is murdered at the fair and Grandma Grant is the prime suspect! Because Harper can talk to ghosts, she can get Adele to assist in tracking down the murderer to clear Grandma’s name. Will Adele work with her after what Grandma said about her? Can Harper solve the murder before Grandma is carted off to prison?
These cozy mysteries are delightful, with clever story lines and new and repeat characters missing it all up. Harper’s skill with ghosts has been helpful in solving crimes in the past; but as often occurs, there are always other intervening people and events that slow the gears of justice down to a crawl and keep the reader on the edge of the seat. I highly recommend this series. I am sure the reader will enjoy every page and have a ton of fun along the way!
This is a great cozy mystery series. Harper and her sister Jess are witches who live in Abbott Cove and their witchy Grandma Grant lives nearby. Grandma Grant is a hoot! She is competing in the Spring Fair and desperately wants to win the annual Cake Bake Off. She has practiced making cakes and makes an unusually colored green cake for the fair with her lucky wooden spoon. Harper suspects that the spoon is magical. The spoon is missing on the day of the fair and Grandma is upset and blames another contestant. Then there’s a murder at the fair. Grandma is one of the suspects. Harper wants to help solve the murder so that she can clear Grandma of the crime. Harper’s special witch power lets her see and talk to the ghosts of the victims. That ability has helped her solve several murders in the past. Along with the ghost there’s an interesting group of characters along the way and always some difficulties in finding the truth. I think that if you like cozy witch mysteries, you will love reading this series. Looking forward to the next book already!

Harper Grant’s grandma just can’t stay out of trouble. She has entered a baking competition and is determined to win. Unfortunately, her biggest rival is also competing and these ladies just can’t stop themselves from fighting. When grandma’s lucky wooden spoon goes missing, she knows it is Adele who stole it and they have a huge confrontation. Unfortunately, Adele is later found murdered and grandma becomes the prime suspect.
This cozy mystery unfolds as Harper uses her amateur sleuthing skills along with grandma’s odd wizard lawyer, and ghost Adele to find out who is the true murderer. With lots of humor, madcap adventure, mystery, and a surprising ending, I found myself unable to put the book down until the very end.

Grandma Grant is determined to win the Spring Bake-Off in their small town. Her greatest rival is Adele, whom Grandma believes is using shady tactics so she will win. Grandma lets her displeasure be known all around town. So when Adele turns up murdered, Grandma is a suspect. That leaves it up to blank to show that Grandma did not do the deed. Surprisingly, she’s helped by Adele’s ghost! Who murdered Adele?
This book was delightfully well-written. I enjoyed the relationship between the two magical sisters and their magical grandma; it came across as warm and loving despite the limitations of the written word. The writing style was fluid and natural, allowing me to just get into the story and stay there. I love the paranormal elements in this, especially the concept of Adele trying to help solve her own murder, including the motive! Adele’s ghost was a fascinating character as well; she was three dimensional, even if her form was not.
If you enjoy cozy paranormal mysteries, you might find this a very engaging read.
When Granny accuses baking completion rival Adele of stealing her lucky wooden spoon, Harper works hard to solve the mystery and clear Granny’s name. Great read, very enjoyable. I received an ARC of this book and I’ll be looking for more books in this series!
