Book 5 in the edge-of-your-seat Heart Lines Series from Heather Hildenbrand

Witch’s Prophecy is the fifth book in the Witches of Half Moon Bay by Heather Hildenbrand. This story was filled with action, drama, steam, and magic, I loved every single second of this audiobook. Once again Kelly Pruner is the narrator for both Alex and Sam and she has done a wonderful job.
After a huge betrayal, Sam and the gang are in a rush to not only stop the god Ea from doing whatever he’s planning on the equinox but to make sure that Sam merges with Hina so she won’t lose herself completely. Sam has been through a lot and it’s starting to wear on her but she keeps going, keeps trying to find a way through and Alex is right there by her side. I love how devoted Alex is to her, there is no more running away, no more trying to block Sam from her magic. Alex is right there supporting Sam and protecting her with all that he has. Alex has come a long way from the person he was at the beginning of this series, he is staying and dealing with things instead of running away. Also, some key moments in Alex’s past have come to light give a little insight into how Alex became the way he is and might also play into what’s currently happening.
Sam has also changed, she is welcoming her magic, starting to understand some things about Hina, and is a little more active in the plans being made. Speaking of the gang a few familiar faces are a part of the group and a couple of new people have become very important in what’s happening, one of my favorites is Harold because he is just so unexpected. Sam has a pretty decent group and I love her connection with them but especially with Brittany, it’s good for Sam to have a close girlfriend. Plus those moments when Breck says something that reminds me that he is most definitely the protective big brother to get to my heart.
Hina and Ea have become a major part of the plot, with their past history, their mythology, and how they have affected other supernaturals. They are most definitely on opposite sides of this war and seem pretty much determined to get their way. While Ea wasn’t really present in this story, Hina was at the for-front, trying to figure out a way to merge with Sam. Hina is very much making herself known but her intentions besides saving the wolves still aren’t clear.
This story is so unique and therefore very compelling. I love the characters and trying to figure out where the story is headed. Everything is new and adventure especially with interesting characters with dangerous powers that are making moves and the organization CHAZ is still being difficult.
A Witch’s Prophecy is a great continuation of the series however things are coming to a close, the sixth and final book, A Witch’s Hope, is gonna be the final showdown between Ea and Hina. There are still a few questions like What is Ea planning? How is Sam? Most importantly, who’s gonna win the final battle? It all comes down to just a little Hope.
Book five in the Heart Lines series is really ramping up the action. We meet some new characters, some old characters get new abilities and the whole book is leading up to the big showdown between Hinna and Ea. There was plenty going on. Sam even found time to go to college. Occasionally. Stay in school kids. Even if you’re sharing your body with a goddess.
Harold returns. Yea! Simon Brooks III gets a kick in the pants. Double yea! All in all, an exciting read. Thank you Heather, for a chance to listen to this audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait for the next one.
This may just be the best book in this series. I absolutely loved where this book took me and I am nowhere near ready for this series to end. I love the characters and can’t wait to see how they progress in the next book. I just have to wait until September.
