Mirror, mirror on the wall…Lose yourself in this New Adult academy urban fantasy loosely inspired by Snow White by an author Karen Chance calls “brilliant”… Winning full scholarships to Eternal Academy was supposed to be a dream come true for my twin Misty and me, but the Witch Queen has minions everywhere. Even here. If she discovers we didn’t die to an assassin’s blade 18 years ago after … die to an assassin’s blade 18 years ago after all, the witching world’s most elite university may just become our worst nightmare.
To make matters worse, I just learned our birth mother’s soul is imprisoned inside a dark curse cast by the same wicked witch who ordered us murdered as toddlers. Our patron deity Artemis forbids any attempts to free our mother. She orders us to learn as much magic as we can while the Witch Queen still believes us dead.
Only now I’m not so sure that’s true. One near-death experience could be the accident everyone wants me to believe–but two? Misty and I have been warned not to trust anyone, but soon we may have no option but to take a leap of faith. Failing to choose the right allies won’t just see us both dead–it will enslave our mother’s soul inside the Witch Queen’s dark curse. Forever.
***Note from Author: This is a New Adult academy urban fantasy book featuring a slow-burn romantic subplot suitable for readers 18+. It is inspired by–but not a direct retelling of–Snow White. It features witches, mages, necromancers, reapers, vampires, shifters, and of course–Zane freaking Anders. If you love books by Jaymin Eve, K.F. Breene, Linsey Hall, Kim Harrison, Yasmine Galenorn, Dannika Dark, and Hailey Edwards, chances are you will love this book!

That praise of this book is well-deserved, it is exciting and well-written, with engaging characters and good dialog. This continues the story begun in A Witch’s Beating Heart (Eternal Academy Book 1). Book 1 really should be read first, there is too much carried over into this book. Artemis chooses Misty and Crystal to be her Storm Arrow candidates and reveals some unexpected secrets. A serious warning is delivered to trust no one. The warning materializes into multiple vicious attacks on Misty, Crystal and their friends and relatives. They discover surprising allies as well as unexpected enemies among their fellow students. This book ends in another cliff-hanger and unfortunately, the next book is not ready yet.
Misty and Crystal are back and trying to stay away from those who are on the Witch Queen side. These characters are really exciting to read. They have to keep on their toes so no one will find out who they really are. They find out some stunning info about their mom and know they have to help the problem is who can they really trust.
Misty and Crystal are still at the academy. Even though they were warned not to trust anyone they have made some real friends, frenemies and some enemies. They re still finding out things about their past and now know about their mother. Zane and Crystal strengthen their relationship also. Fun and exciting adventure

This is book 2 of the Eternal Academy series. This series has grabbed my interest and kept it throughout. I found this book well written and the characters are well developed. I would recommend reading.

A Witch’s Dark Curse is the second book in Kasey MacKenzie’s Eternal Academy series and this read is just as exciting and fun as the first.
The fraternal twins are now settling into the rhythm of their new school with their group of friends while still trying to stay under the radar of those who are aligned with the Witch Queen and keep their true identities hidden. Situations become dicier in this book as Misty and Crystal navigate their surroundings and try to determine who is really a friend or an enemy. They were warned not to trust anyone but each other, however after new information is revealed and a shocking discovery is made about their mother, they come to realize that they have to have help; they have to figure out who they can trust if they have any hopes of staying alive.
Bonds start to deepen, true friends are revealed, there is a touch of romance between Zane and Crystal, new alliances form, and we get sucked even further into the mystery of the twins’ history. The characters are delightful and the plot is engaging and keeps you flipping the pages. Warning though, there is a cliffhanger that will leave you really wanting the next book now. It is frustrating and great at the same time, LOL.
Finally!?!?! I have been waiting forever for this book to come out. Kasey Mackenzie does it again!
So needless to say I needed to know about Zane Freaking Anders due to the ending of book one. Well, we will still be wondering. Ugh that’s all I am telling you guys. However, Crystal and Misty are dealing with a whole lot this year. They are in danger, and they have to stay in their toes. Crystal and Misty find out more information about themselves and their family. Oh and there is another revelation that I did not see coming.
Then I get to the end of the book and screamed!! It’s a CLIFFHANGER! We need the next book asap!
Don’t miss out on this series! You won’t be disappointed.
As I stated before, I am not much into the academy books. I have teens of my own, so it’s hard to read NA/YA as they too closely mirror them. LOL! However, the first one of this series was great, and I had high hopes for this one. What a great second book this was! Crystal and Misty are really settling in at the academy, and they are coming to find out who their allies are. In this one, we find out some startling information and learn even more secrets. I was blown away by a couple, especially the end. NOOOO! I love the characters, the plot, and the universe, and I am now eagerly awaiting the third book. Try it, you’ll like it! Highly recommend! I was provided a copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
