This is a clean cozy mystery featuring a female amateur detective, perfect for readers who love a fun sleuth story and for fans of paranormal women’s fiction.

I love this series. This is book 6 of the Crystal Springs series and each book can be read as a stand alone, however it is best read in order because the underlying story line is progressive. This is a clean, cozy witch mystery where Cas finds herself once again trying to solve a murder to save someone she loves from getting the chop.
Cas is a Fab 50 year old woman who’s powers were awakened recently and if she wants to keep her powers, she must pass “the test”. But will thing go according to plan when someone ends up dead?
Written as a 3rd person, single pov with a completed mystery ending. Strong story line, amazing and easy to love characters, engaging dialogue, and easy to visualize detailed descriptions.

Cas could fail, die or just be stripped of her magic
Ironic that she should face such harsh treatment after saving the town put her over the limit for learning for her license
Tragically, not the most horrible thing to happen in this book.
Unthinkable assaults on humans and shifters using old school magic bonds wreak terrible tragedies upon generations of living and dead pledged to service
Loyalties and betrayals abound painfully
Cas really needs to pay better attention to her sister and her dedication to pesky paperwork
Painful growth and loss

Cas is in court to see if her appeal for her testing will be approved. The sirens decide that that outside person would be better to rule on her case. They brought in Magistrate Titan to rule on her case. He denies her appeal, she will have to take the case. She is still thrown by Graham’s react to the man. Graham tells her why he was so upset over seeing the man. Graham stays with Cas that night, but she wakes to see him not there. She sees a shadow at his house and Lloyd driving past.
Jupiter takes a Cas on hike to her favorite spot in the woods, they spot Graham’s truck. They go to investigate it, see damage to it. They are going to look for Graham when something chases them. They happen upon a piece of the what they think is the Magistrate. Cas thinks that whatever chased them, wanted them to find it.
Cas has been called to take her test, she is nervous. Cas doesn’t pass her test and is leashed. She doesn’t have the heart to tell everyone. Cas decides that she is going to look into the Magistrates death. Cas will try to track down everything that happened. There are clues for Cas but she doesn’t put it together until it is too late.
This was a great read. You will have fun reading this as Cas tries to help Graham, figure out the murders and try to figure out life without magic. She will also learn some major secrets of some residences of her town and someone she trusts will betray her. Will Cas be able to survive to save Graham and others or will they take her magic for good. Recommend reading this, I really enjoy this character and series.

The author has done it again. We are pulled into the lives of the characters and there is no place we would rather be. The story flows smoothly and keeps us intrigued and turning the pages to the very end.

WOW!!!!! Beware: There is some much going on in this story that it is hard to stay focused.
Cas has her witch test coming up. Will she pass? Will she fail it and die (like Burdock and Echo think)? Will she die from another way? I will say her test is inetersting!!!
A third party is brought in to do her test. Problem is that there are very strong reactions to him. What is with that?
Graham goes missing. When he is found, what happened? Is he involved? Looks like he is involved.
Even the sheriff has a secret. Besides the witch and shifter not get along thing (stupidity I say).
Love the lessons that Cas learns!!!!
Worse is the bonded servant. Shame on those who did this!!!!!! Sorry goes against my personal beliefs.
On top all this, there is this thing with fur and people using the fur in a magical way.
So watch your step, keep your eyes and ears open! Otherwise you might find yourself lost in the woods
Fun, easy to read, cozy mystery. Can be read as a standalone, but go back and read the previous books so you can get the full understanding.
Although I am not happy with the solution with Tallulah. I would not do it!!!!
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Adorable story about a witch coming into her powers way to late and being put to the test before she’s ready. It’s a cozy mystery with a sweet story line and and some murder mystery thrown in. It is part of a series but the first one I have read. It can be read as a standalone because the author does amazing filling in the gaps. I think it would be even more enjoyable if the previous book had been read but over all I found it funny, intriguing and a lot of oh that’s the killer, no that’s the killer. Great read!
