When I started reading this book I wasn’t sure what to expect. I just knew the book looked very intriguing and wasn’t disappointed either. I was hooked on the book after reading the first few pages. I loved this book.
Look forward to reading more of this author’s books in print format.
I highly recommend this book and will read this book again.
This was a page turner of a novel. Caroline Kelly was an idealistic survivor and Lincoln Atwood became a believer and her defender in an America devastated by a vicious deadly virus. Follow their story from the ruins to hope for a better future.
So reminiscent of our present time and yet not. I really liked these characters and plot of this tale. It really did bring tears to my eyes. So looking forward to reading more from this author.
Astoundingly wonderful. I loved this book. It was a little hard to read with the virus going around now in 2020, but this book was soooo good. I liked the love story intertwined with the story of the world possibly ending. Emma continues to write great books!
Post-apocalyptic stories generally aren’t my thing, but OMG, this one is INCREDIBLE!!!
Brilliant writing, character development and chemistry made this book impossible to put down! I devoured it in one sitting and could not get enough of Caroline and Lincoln. The writing and pacing is perfect. The characters and storyline are so real and immersing you can’t bear to tear yourself away for a moment. Tense and gripping as this post-apocalyptic novel is due to the subject matter, it’s also a book of hope, beauty, and breathtaking romance.
Thank you, Emma Castle, for giving us writing that is intelligent and thoughtful, a romance that is both sweet and sizzling, and a storyline that delivers all the feels plus a thoroughly satisfying HEA!! Absolutely LOVED it and highly recommend!
Lincoln Atwood survived the contagion that wiped out the nine tenths of humanity. As the last survivor in a secret government bunker and a Delta Force soldier, he knows that the other survivors are scared, angry and dangerous, just like him. After weeks alone with the mummified bodies of his colleagues, he escapes the bunker. But the world outside has changed. When he sees Caroline, a fellow survivor, she is vision of light in a world gone dark. He wants to help her, but she won’t trust him. Caroline Kelly survived hell when she escaped quarantined Chicago in search of her family after the outbreak.
This is not my usual genre of read by any means but I loved the author’s previous book & this also didn’t disappoint & I’ll certainly be reading more from the author as they become available. The strength of the book is in the depth given to the characters & the description of a post apocalyptic. The attraction between the two of them sizzled & I loved how their relationship developed. I found it very hard to put down & read in two sittings
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
