Kace August: famous, intense, dark, addictive. Aria Alard: a woman with secrets, passion, and a dangerous past. Passion. Secrets. Mystery. Aria fell hard for Kace. She trusted him. But did he deserve that trust? And where is Gio?A Wicked Song is the second book in the Brilliance Trilogy.
We start where we left off with Aria and Kace. Oh how much I love these two. Their drama, past, and demons have barely come into light. I feel like the circle of friends is almost whole. I feel the pull that I did with LRJ’s other characters from past stories. I love we also get a side of Savage!
So you are going to start with your heart pounding! Alexander is also right there and I have a feeling this guy is no good. You can feel that oozing from him. But I got a hint of compassion when he was helping Aria. But now that I finished the this story, my head is spinning again. And yup! The queen of cliff hangers leaves us with a huge surprise!!! Like I need book three stat!
A Wicked Song entwines the darkness with the light. These characters are fighting for a life they could only dare to dream about. I feel the connection with Aria and Kace as Lisa connects us with their soul. I could feel it all the way down to my toes! This story is wonderfully twisted and has you aching for what will happen next! This will give you a book hangover and I CAN NOT WAIT for more Kace and Aria! The surprise on at the end has my on edge <3
This Brilliance Trilogy is getting so good, all the mystery and cliffhangers are twisting me in the best way. Aria and Kace are fire, they are pulling me in all directions at once, I do need the last book, I need answers, I need to know more, I don’t want it to be done but at the same time I do so you know the drill, it’s one you need to read. Thank you for the additional catch up to remind me of the previous one it was perfect for me as an avid reader that reads way too many books to get back in the saddle.
This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.
I have loved several of Lisa Renee Jones books. I normally DO NOT like cliff hangers, but I am so happy I made an exception for this trilogy. I was blown away by the 2nd book of this trilogy. I love how she weaved all the action, suspense, and love into her story. It is amazing how emotionally invested you can become in a series. I cannot wait for the 3rd book to be released.
I received an ARC of this book to read in exchange for a fair review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Book two of the Brilliance trilogy is about what you would expect for the next book out of this series. Aria and Kace kick off right where we stop in A Reckless Note. Aria is not sure what is going on with her and Kace and after what she has found out she doesn’t see a future between them. But Kace is willing to give away a few secrets at a time in little bits of pieces.
This is what keeps me reading this trilogy. Aria for the first time in her life is trusting someone, even if he only gives a little of himself and his past she is still willing to stand by him. The little tidbits we get from Kace and the strength that Aria shows when she is with him keeps me staying with this couple. I am excited to see where this storyline ends up.
My god, I couldn’t wait to dive into A Wicked Song after the ending to A Reckless Note. Had to see what happened between Aria and Kace.
Had to see what happened when the truth about Aria’s real name—who her family is—was revealed. And see if there was any further news on Gio’s disappearance.
And I was not disappointed! I love how real the romance between Kace and Aria is developing. How there are still many secrets between them, but that they’re slowly beginning to open themselves to a future together, one built on trust and honesty. Well, once they both share all the skeletons hiding in their closets.
I love where their story is going. Love how the mystery is unfolding. And am anxiously waiting for the final book in the Brilliance Trilogy, A Sinful Encore to be released next month.

A Wicked Song is the second book in the Brilliance Trilogy by Lisa Renee Jones. You have to read book 1 to understand and appreciate book 2 in all is mastery writing. This story just keeps getting more and more intense. Book 2 is the meat of the story.
Kace August: famous, intense, dark, addictive. Aria Alard: a woman with secrets, passion, and a dangerous past. Passion. Secrets. Mystery. Aria fell hard for Kace. She trusted him. But did he deserve that trust? And where is Gio?
All that above is just the tip of the iceberg trying to explain this story without giving anything away. There is so much and the edge of anticipation and whose sending calling and sending those texts is driving me crazy.
This book is when Aria and Kace start having their moment, the push and pull and the unraveling yet more questions keep coming up.
The way Lisa Renee Jones writes is extraordinary, I have not read a book in a while that has captivated me the way this series does. Like a moth to the flame and the need to know is has me on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
And of course that ending!!!! What am I going to do till book 3 comes out? Well, most likely do a re-read already and see if I missed anything.
A Wicked Song is book two in this series and in my opinion, another amazing installment! OMG! I’m still reeling from the high that this book gave me and yes, a cliffhanger. Argh! I think I’m gonna go crazy at this rate but hell, I loved it! I need that last book like I need my next fix or better yet, my next breath. I’m living for the chemistry Kace and Aria are giving out. I feel their connection in my soul, you guys. It’s been such a long time that I feel this way on fictional characters. There are questions running through my head and the mystery of her brother’s disappearance still remains. Need book three right now!
I am the first one to say that cliffhangers are horrible and I typically wait till the series is complete till I read the books, but LRJ is one of the few authors that I make an exception for. She not only has an amazing story telling ability, but she always includes a quick recap of the story so you can pick up right where you left off even when there are months between the releases.
Not only is this the second book in a trilogy, but the final book is currently up for preorder and will be released in September. There are some amazing visits from her previous characters in the Inside Out series. Although you can definitely read this without having read the prior series.
A Wicked Song is brilliantly written. If you are familiar with LRJ, you already know she writes complex stories that are intense and steamy mixed with emotional turmoil and A Wicked Song is no exception.

This is the second book in the Brilliance Trilogy, and the continuation to Kace, and Aria’a story. This was another great read in this series, this was well written, and the characters have explosive chemistry. This story took us on a roller coaster of highs, and lows, twists, and turns, and kept me engaged, and captivated. This was steamy, intense, twisted, dramatic, emotional, raw, gritty, and suspenseful!
A Wicked Song by Lisa Renee Jones is book 2 in the Brilliance Trilogy. This is Aria Alard and Kace August’s story that is continued on in this read. You need to read book 1 to make sure you have the story and characters down before moving on to book 2. A Wicked Song picks up where book 1 left off. Aria is still trying to find her brother, Gio but now add the attraction flaring between her and Kace. Aria’s not sure if he’s even trustworthy but she has to trust someone because she needs Gio found. There’s so many twists and turns that occur, there’s danger, action, suspense, intrigue, tons of feels, secrets, lies, and that hot passion that flares between Kace and Aria all while the search is on. I loved the emotions and the past characters that dropped in to join the search. And that ending!! I can’t wait for book 3!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
5 OMG STARS!! Aria and Kace has sucked me in. I am absolutely loving this trilogy….I need more. You must read this trilogy so start it now. This author is one of my favorite ever….her words are addicting.
What an amazing trilogy this is turning out to be. Not only has Lisa Renee Jones given is two lead characters to fall on love with in Aria and Kace but a wonderful supporting cast of former characters that I have loved (most of the time) from past works.
Having discovered this series after the first book in the series had already released I had to play catch up, however I am so glad I did. A Reckless Note begins and ends in a shroud if mystery. Which keeps you engaged and eager to see what is coming for these two.
A Wicked Song picks up right where Lisa Renee Jones leaves you hanging but every word is worth the wait. As book 2 unfolds you see additional layers of Kace and Aria revealed. Kace is fearful of Aria learning of his past and deciding to flee and Aria is worries that being with Kace will put him in danger.
Their story is nothing short of complicated starting with Aria’s search for brother and her family recipe, trying to keep her business above water and trying to keep her identity under wraps.
Her relationship with Kace and his ties to her past only adding to the depth of the story. On top of the fact that he just can’t seem to get enough of her.
This story has several twists and turns left in it I am sure. Knowing that there is a third book had me prepared for open ended questions and more intrigue.
I am eagerly anticipating the release of the third and final book, A Sinful Encore.
If Aria and Kace’s relationship could not get hotter, it does! You will learn more about the secrets in Aria’s past along with Kace’s too. This book has one heck of a cliffhanger. A Wicked Song starts off where A Reckless Note ends. Lisa has you begging for more.
This is the second book in this series and you do need to read “A Reckless Note” to know what is going on. This is a book with a hell of a lot of twists and turns guaranteed to keep you engaged
Kace and Aria’s connection is still as strong as ever and they are still searching for the missing violins and for Gio His story may be the key to what happened in their past Can Walker security find him and unlock those secrets
A Wicked Song by Lisa Renee Jones is book Two in the Brilliance Trilogy. This continues the story of f Aria Alard and Kace August, so you really need to read the first book ‘A Reckless Note’ before starting this one..but Ms. Jones is good about catching you up if you haven’t read the previous one. This book picks us up where we left off so it doesn’t miss a beat getting us back into their story. Secrets are starting to come out from the shadows. Aria and Kace feelings are growing stronger and their path is becoming clearer until something else happens in their story leaving us to get read for their next installment to come. I am a big fan of this author’s writing, so I do highly recommend it and this series.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
The author has written an important note to her readers that’s not to be missed. Her explanation is within the first paragraph. If you have not read Reckless Note then you don’t want to continue past that – spoiler alert within. This book continues where the first book left off – this is not a standalone.
Aria starts our adventure right from the start. It grabs our attention and doesn’t let go. What does this author have in store for her characters? She creates scenes that I can hear playing out in my head. Aria voices questions that I would ask if I could. She’s added in characters that had their own story so once you meet them, if you haven’t had the chance to read about them now would be a good time to change that.
By the author using Aria as our narrator, Kace stays something of a mystery. We’re kind of left in the dark where he’s concerned. He’s like a musical piece that need to build to just the right moment. We rely on Aria’s impressions and interactions to fill in the void. We have a silent secondary character that is important to the mystery that has been created. How will he fit in to what’s going on?
It’s because of him that it is very hard to put this book down. But there’s a sad part to all this. Our author has done it again. We’re left at the top of a cliff wondering “why?” and “how long?” The good thing is that hopefully those questions will get answered soon. Until then we will have to patiently wait and see about getting off that cliff.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
In the second of The Brilliance Trilogy, Kace and Aria move closer together while trying to find Aria’s brother. Aria also gains friends and allies in Kace’s friends, making her feel more a part of the world and less on the edge of it.
With a combination of love scenes and revealing actions scenes, Jones’ tale of violins, secrets, and danger draws the reader further under the spell of her very engaging leads. Aria and Kace are magnetic, vivid characters that allow you to sink into the story easily while her exceptional talent for wrapping intrigue around her romance leaves you hunting for clues and wanting to know more right-this-minute.
Since this is a Lisa Renee Jones trilogy, a cliffhanger that will leave you slack-jawed and frustrated is par for the course but luckily this is one author who doesn’t leave readers hanging for long. The last of the trilogy will be out in early Sept.

Where the first book set the stage for the story, book two is where it all started coming together. There is a way that this author constructs a story that is both compelling and interesting for her audience. There is a simplicity in how she writes. That is not to say that it is a simple a +b = C type story. It is multifaceted. She makes it look easy when it is anything but easy or simple.
This still has a ton of mystery as the pieces fall into place. Just when I think that I have it figured out something else happens and shakes up that foundation. I loved watching Kace and Aria grow in their relationship and themselves. It ends on another cliffhanger and I am anxious to see where it goes from here and how it finally concludes.
