There will be no happily ever after for Violet Tavners. At least, that is what she has determined. She has seen her sisters marry for love, but after falling for a man who turned out to be the worst kind of fraud, Violet is determined to never be deceived again. The only way to do that? Never fall in love. Instead, she agrees to consider the idea of marrying a man of her father’s choosing, … despite the fact the marriage would be convenient for everyone but her.
Owen Ridlington chooses to be known for his exploits in the fight against Napoleon instead of for his title of Viscount of Primrose. He has faced many foes over the last few years, and now he is nearly lulled to sleep while protecting a little inn by the sea. One thing is certain — there is no room in his life for anyone who might be put at risk. He is alone, and he vows it is going to stay that way.
Then danger, in the form of an escaped French spy, threatens The Wild Rose Inn and Owen must protect the Tavners family and the town of Southwold at all costs. But as they work to defend the town, will Owen and Violet protect their hearts against their growing attraction, or will they learn that love can always find a way?

This is actually the first I have read in this series. All her sisters are married and her father wants to marry her to her cousin. Owen Riddlington is a Viscount who is protecting this tavern from the treacherous French. This is a delightful story that warmed my heart. It is enjoyable, even with the stretch between a tavern owner’s daughter and a peer of the realm.
This book is about the fourth Tavners daughter. The parents as well as the daughters lived in and ran an inn which was used by soldiers to rest and recover from injuries sustained in service, along with some who just needed a place to hide out from the French because of their service as spies. Her three older sisters had married soldiers who were also nobility. Each had met their husbands while the men were recuperating at the inn and were blissfully happy in their marriages. Now, Violet is the only daughter left. Her father had a tendency to lose while gambling and had a debt with an old friend. He had entered an agreement to give the inn as payment of the debt. The only problem is that he has agreed to give Violet in marriage to the friend’s son. But, Violet is already losing her heart to one of the soldiers staying at the inn. Violet wants to marry for love just as her sisters have done. But, should her loyalty be to her parents to stay at the inn and marry a man she hardly knows or to her heart as she realizes she is falling in love with her soldier, Owen Ridlington? Does Owen care enough about her to offer her an alternative?
I loved that Violet was reader and that she dreamed of going on adventures like the ones she discovered in books. I’m an avid reader too and love to lose myself in a good book. She made a mistake being taken in by a French spy in the last book, so she’s afraid to open her heart to love again. But she can’t help her attraction to Owen, who is also not who is also not who he says is. I thought Linus, who her father tried to betrothed her to was a spineless selfish mean spirited twit and he would crush her adventurous spirit if she gave in and married him. There was plenty of action, humor, and romance in this final installment in this series.
Comtois is back, and that means trouble. Exciting ending to a good series. This one may be my favorite. I received an ARC of this book.
The last of the Blooming Brides, has the planned selling of the inn, a threat to the family, the truth of a deal, finding true love, an arsonist, a kidnapping and much more in this spellbinding story.
All I can say is Violet is my favorite sister..”As it happens, I do perfectly well at walking and reading at the same time. In fact, I can do nearly anything while I read a book.” Oh yes, I totally relate! If you have followed this series, and even if you have not (you are missing such great stories!), Vi is the youngest and last of four sisters in a family who have owned and managed an Inn, which has been a resting place for soldiers to recover from the war.
When her father announces he plans to sell, well kind of hand over the Inn to a friend’s younger son, he readily states that it would work well for Violet to marry that son. You know, to keep it in the family!
Meanwhile, Owen, has been staying at the Inn, mainly to help keep them safe and from harm since it seems there are spies lurking about. As Owen and Violet start to interact and get to know each other, there is a slow build to romance.
Delightfully wonderful as all of this series has been, I highly recommend Violet and Owen’s journey to happiness!!!
Violet is the bookish sister, whom her father wants to marry off to a second son to pay off his debt and keep the Inn with the family. She’s considering it.
Owen is a viscount who prefers his time spent in the military or working the land.
Is the reluctant viscount a better match for Violet?
Recommend
The final instalment of Blooming Brides not only finds a husband for the last unwed daughter of the landlord of The Wild Rose Inn, but also concludes the spy versus spy saga carried over from the previous story. Miss Violet Tavners is shy, biddable and loves reading. When her father proposes she marry a cousin, everyone thinks she’ll agree. Owen Ridlington, Lord Primrose is ordered to remain at the Inn trying to keep everyone safe. Has the Comtois returned? Excellent suspense! Enjoyable conclusion!
I received an ARC copy of this book.
I enjoyed the love story between Violet and Owen. Also loved the closeness of the four Tavners sisters. An entertaining read.
*some spoilers*
I loved the characters! Violet, her sisters, the mysterious Viscount, and the townspeople. Lots of mystery and action interwoven into this delightful romance. I didn’t appreciate premarital relations, even if written tastefully, that’s why I gave it a 4 star reading. That is the content that is not suitable for all readers. Otherwise, it’s a delightful read. Happy reading!
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the great storyline and the well developed characters! Owen and Violet was an exceptional couple and they kept me totally captivated throughout the entire book!
Violet is the last unmarried daughter of the Wild Rose Inn, her sister had all found their love’s amongst the patrons of the Inn. Her sister Iris’s husband had an attempt on his life by a French spy. In comes a new guest Owen Ridlington who is a Viscount but does not want that fact known, his job is to protect Iris’s husband and the rest of the residents of the Inn. Violet feels she is going to be a spinster vowing to never love again after she had been tricked by the spy, endangering her sister and her husband. Owen has noticed Violet but would not act on his feelings until is revealed her father had arranged a marriage for her if that wasn’t enough the French spy had escaped. Elle St.Clair never disappoints and has ended her Blooming Brides series on a high note.
The Sisters and Their Noblemen
This has been such a delightful series, getting to know the Tavner sisters, each one named for a flower. Though each one is a stand alone novel, I highly recommend going back and reading the other sisters’ stories. This is Violet’s story, and as the last of the sisters to wed, all the others are back in this story as well. Each married noblemen, who had returned from the war and stayed for a time at the Wild Rose Inn which their family owned. As well as a sweet love story, there is suspense as the French spy, Comtois, we met in the last story has escaped and thought to be returning for revenge on those at the Inn.
The final book in an excellent series. Violet is the only unmarried sister working at her parents’ inn. She falls for a nobleman protecting her brother-in-law. Good plot with adventure.
ONE ENTHRALLING ADVENTURE!!!
Awesome! Ellie rocks this baby from the start. A tumultuous wild ride with a surplus of unexpected misfortune and surprising incidents that blasts all of your emotions into play perfectly. Hurdling the trials and tribulations, witnessing the struggles our characters are faced with as the lines blur and a bond grows into unexpected thrills and opportunity. One compelling storyline and gripping plot jolts this baby to life smoothly. All the drama, uncertainty, danger and suspense make for one incredible experience. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and bruises bring this baby together fluidly. The characters and scenes are written in true to life form that brings this little guy bursting to life delightfully. Amazing job Ellie, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This is a great book and a wonderful series! I thoroughly enjoyed them all and highly recommend this and the others to all readers. Everything about the book is original, well thought out and truly down to earth in its romantic tale. Ellie is always amazing us with her super reads!
Violet loves her romance stories but choosing the right man or so she thought did not work out well, he was a spy and had her bamboozled. When mysterious officer Owen vows to protect her family and home she can’t help admire him. Owen is not in the position to take a wife yet since the Napoleonic war is still going on, but he may lose Violet if her father forces her to marry someone else. Loved this series of sisters. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This series is simply superb. The last flower in the Wild Rose Inn has found her true love. After the heartbreak Violet has suffered she no longer trusts her heart. When Owen captures her attention she sees her chance at a new life. When danger comes back to the inn and puts Violet in harms way, Owen is unable to deny his feelings. After banishing the threat they start on their way to a new life. A wonderful and happy story.
This is the last book in this series, about four sisters and there family Inn. All of Violets sister have found their husbands at the Inn. All have married for love. Violet doesn’t think she will ever love anyone, as she trusted one of the guest, Comtois and fell for him only to learn he was spy and fraud. He only wanted to hurt one of her sisters husband and then her family. Now she doesn’t trust herself or her heart anymore. Her father tells all the them that he is selling the end to the son of one of his friends.
Linus was terrible to all the girls when he would come to visit. Now her father wants her to marry him to keep the Inn in the family !
Owen Ridlington has been at the Inn for sometime protecting Westwood and helped with Comtois
in the last book. Now he is still watching Westwood while he heals.
I don’t want to say too much as this book has lots of twist and turns, drama, mystery, a kidnapping and a fire. Violet and Owen will help each other find what they want most in life, but not without some sorrow and soul searching. Their romance is laced with disappoint but also with lots of love too.
You can read all of the books as stand alone but much better read in order… for the history.
I received an ARC from the author and am giving my honest opinion.

This is the fourth & final book in the series & I think it’s my favourite. Violet is the youngest sister who often loses herself in a book. I’ve loved Violet throughout the series & felt so sorry for her in the previous book. Oliver is an agent for the crown & focused on his work until Violet worms her way into his affections. I loved how the pair grew to love each other. The road to their HEA wasn’t smooth as there was an escaped French spy intent on revenge & an arrogant relative to muddy the road. I read the book in a sitting as I just couldn’t put it down
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
