From a USA Today Best Selling AuthorThe story is not your typical murder mystery. The sleuth is not a detective, private eye, or lawyer. He’s an ordinary guy with an extraordinary dog.Jacob Martin is trying to make the best of a divorce and mid-life crisis when he gets a call at two o’clock Sunday morning from his mother. His sister has been arrested for the murder of her fourth husband, and his … her fourth husband, and his father is near death. Thus begins an adventure that takes Jake and his golden retriever from their Colorado retreat to a backwater town in the Missouri Ozarks where they search for cold-blooded killers, a cache of gold coins buried by Jesse James, and the love of a beautiful nurse.

Loved the story and characters I have the audiobook.
Protagonist not likable or credible. Didn’t finish book
Loved!
enjoyable book to read, good believable characters
I read this book because the location was familiar. The author was trying hard to entertain but at times did not achieve that goal. I’m halfway through this book & can’t wait to get to the end. It’s fairly entertaining but just my taste
Different
I little confusing but wonderful characters and fun to read.
A little predictable but still very enjoyable.
I liked that. It was a great page turner. I never knew what was coming next. Great story. I want to read more of this author
The book is a slow starter, but if you stick with it, it does get better.
This was a great page-turner! Great characters and the setting was beautiful!
I didn’t care for this book. I did not find the characters likeable, nor were they realistic.
an out of work computer nerd that drinks to much and talks to his dog. that was the best part of the book.
This book was just plain fun.
Great read for the hopeless romantic.
Loved it!
Really great read
It was really hard for me to get into this book. It’s not the type of book I usually read, so maybe that made a difference.
I am having great difficulty with this as the characters are all brainless, spineless idiots. The story lacks direction with more holes than a sieve. Other than than the fact that I started it, I see no reason to finish it.
