From a USA Today Best Selling AuthorThe story is not your typical murder mystery. The sleuth is not a detective, private eye, or lawyer. He’s an ordinary guy with an extraordinary dog.Jacob Martin is trying to make the best of a divorce and mid-life crisis when he gets a call at two o’clock Sunday morning from his mother. His sister has been arrested for the murder of her fourth husband, and his … her fourth husband, and his father is near death. Thus begins an adventure that takes Jake and his golden retriever from their Colorado retreat to a backwater town in the Missouri Ozarks where they search for cold-blooded killers, a cache of gold coins buried by Jesse James, and the love of a beautiful nurse.

Loved the story, the old dog was awesome! Can’t wait to read the rest of their series!
I enjoy all of his books. They are relaxing to read, and the dog is full of character.
It was fairly good. The msin charactet was such a pushover with his family which was very annoying. Discussed himself using the bathroon several times. The things that hsppened seemed unrealistic
loved it
I really enjoyed reading this mystery book. The author did a great job of keeping my interest. It had a very believable story line.
Love it!
This is the second book by this author that I’ve read. I really enjoy his style of writing and all the details he gives you. The main character was someone you could see yourself knowing as was all his characters. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Okay read. Didn’t really keep me entertained
Overall I thought the book was good,
They are alcoholics. The book was a fairly good read, but bad language and the constant use of alcohol turns me off. I can’t consider it a serious mystery.
Why would you loan your sister $20,000 to buy $$$$ wine after she blew her parent’s reverse mortgage funds on “I can’t remember?” I found the premise more than a bit of a stretch. Family being family and all but this was too much.
I didn’t enjoy it
Cool love story about the adventures of a guy and his dog. Twists and turns in the neighborhood, in the bar, on the road, back home, and the ever pressing question, “Who done it?”
A non detective type solves murders. Well written, great character build.
The characters were rude, crude znd very unlikeable. Stopped reading after 3 chapters.
Good mystery
Like the whole series and hope for more!
It’s ok. Hard to get into and slow but a fair time passer.
I guessed the bad guy but it had its twists. A bit of ‘language’ lots of beer, more dysfunction women than I hope exit.
Keep you guessing
