Welcome to Thornwaite, a quaint village tucked up in England’s beautiful but rainy Lake District… where homecomings happen and surprises are in store for the four Holley sisters… the cozy chaos of the busy vicarage.
After several years away from home, Anna returns for Christmas… and an important announcement from her father. As much as she once loved the village, coming back is hard and puts Anna’s social capabilities to the test.
Avoiding her sisters’ bossy questions, she heads out to the local pub one night, and meets a handsome stranger nursing a pint. Somehow, unburdened by expectations, Simon seems like the perfect person to spill all her secrets to—including a hopeless, long-held crush on her sister’s boyfriend. Confident she’ll never see him again, Anna returns home… only to discover the next day that Simon is actually her father’s new curate!
Anna is beyond mortified, but Simon won’t let her retreat into her usual shyness—and for once Anna is forced to confront the past, and all the fears and feelings she’d tried so long to hide. But with his own heartache that needs to heal, can Simon help Anna to make this the most magical Christmas either of them have known?

‘The welcoming atmosphere of the place is fabulous and I love how the people who are living there are starting to get very close. To me they are starting to feel like a chosen family more and more, which is another part of the story I liked a lot. Kiss Me at Willoughby Close is a terrific charming and romantic book.’
‘Kate Hewitt has written another brilliant story, which is a perfect addition to her wonderful series.’
‘Kate Hewitt has a way of drawing the reader in and captivating them with these stories. I really hope this isn’t the last we see of the residents of Willoughby Close as this series has been by far one of my favourites and I would be sad to see the series come to a close.’

Was looking forward to reading this book, based on it being in England during the holidays in a vicarage/small village setting. The main female character was a person that I just could not sympathize with; her reasons for feeling so unsettled and upset with herself, but especially with her family, were extremely flimsy. Her “reasoning” was very immature, her avoidance of her family for three years, her inability to socially interact with people she had known all of her life- all based on what???? I could find no intelligent reason for her attitudes or behavior. I kept reading for quite a while, hoping to gain some insight regarding this young woman. I really wanted to like the book, but had to quit reading before the very end; I felt no incentive to continue after about a third of the way through.
Interesting characters who share a tragic loss in their past and how it affects their lives now, very british
A touching story that’ll reach your heart!
A touching love story of two broken people who fall in love.
Wonderful story with characters with real problems. I love that they got together at the very end but I wish it showed more about how they were going to make it work.
This book was not what I expected, too wordy and predictable.
Not what I expected no ending would have to buy the series
This isn’t a book with characters with a lot of depth or an edge-of-the seat, can’t put it down book; but it is a sweet holiday romance that’s a good read when you’re not looking for anything intense. Great book to cozy up with a cup of cocoa and relax.
Enjoyable reading
Cute story.
Cozy and not cookie cutter
Loved it!
Heroine dealing with change and before the tale is over, so is the rest of the family. She is aware and has self-doubt, but not to the point that she fails to opt for happiness.
This is a wonderful story of a vicar and his family. He is getting older and his children are grown. The youngest daughter is shy and is haunted by a long ago tragedy. She dreads coming home for Christmas but comes anyways. There are many changes coming in the family, some welcome and others not. It is a great story of family and how they grow and change and how the Christmas season brings them all together.
It is a sweet story. I liked the family dynamic. I like the way Simon pulled her out and made her talk to him despite her shyness. It was a very enjoyable book. I’m eager to read the books about her sisters.
Adequate
I have read the whole series and loved it!
Not very realistic.
Enjoyed reading
