Boy meets girl. Boy falls for girl. Boy marries girl. And they both live happily ever after. Right? Not quite.I fell for the boy. So slowly I barely noticed, then all at once. I loved my best friend with my entire heart, letting him fill up the holes my family had dug. But boys don’t fall for other boys. Just ask him. So my story turned into boy meets boy. Boy falls for boy. Boy gets rejected. Boy … boy. Boy gets rejected. Boy meets girl. Boy meets boy. Boy loses them over and over and over again.
Pretty twisted, right?
My life story was really just a screwed up love story. A search for the one person that understood the darkness inside me. The monster I’d become. But sometimes the holes are too deep and far too bloody, for anyone—boy or girl—to fill.

This is a standalone in the Twisted World series, but I recommend reading Twisted Fate and Twisted Death first.
I absolutely love Horse. I just want to cuddle him and give him all the love. I loved getting to know his backstory. How him and Cole met and how he became apart of Mickey’s organization.
I loved getting his pov from certain scenes from Cole and Elle’s story.
He is my favorite in the Twisted World so far.
I can’t wait to read Filly’s book
I won a copy via a giveaway and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I wish I could give this book ALL the stars. 5 isnt enough to do it justice. Horse’s story was full of pain and torment and brief glimpses of light that pierced the never ending darkness. There was death and destruction and torture, but also magic and hope filtering through every word. The writing in this book was lyrical and seamless. The characters worked their way in to a permanent spot on my heart. Ace Gray has penned an epic tale that will forever be one of my favorites.
I saw this book recommended reading group and decided to give it a go. It was the first one I’ve read like it and it had me sucked in. Sometimes it was so dark and twisty. Sometimes it gave me all the feels. The characters were different and unique and kept my interest. Definitely will try more from this author
Horse’s story will grab your heart, rip it out, put it back in and repeat!
After the twisted fairytale my heart broke for Horse. That ending… I needed more! In Twisted Love story, we learn Horse’s story, and it will break your heart. Though you could read this as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the twisted fairytales because you will get a more in-depth picture of the story.
This book starts when Cole and Horse met, we get to see how Cole and Horse became family and so much more.
Ace Gray has a way of just writing a character that is so flawed that we probably shouldn’t love him/her, but we do. Horse and Cole have done some bad, I mean really bad things. We should be wishing they get what’s coming to them….and we do, only it’s not what you think. You will wish, pray, cry, and plead that these two can have a happily ever after.
Not only does Ace make us love the bad guys, she will cause you to feel so much it hurts. This book had me all over the place, I laughed (thank goodness for Conrad’s levity) , I cried (must she kill off characters), my heart sang (it’s about time there was hope for this group), and I had to fan myself a few times (yep, there is some serious steam).
All the darn feels! Always the feels! This book/series is dark! It’s no joke. This isn’t a light gray kinda dark, this is wtf omg black kinda dark! There are triggers, it is graphic, there is violence and bloody carnage. Just my jam! If you aren’t looking for dark, skip this…but is you are looking to head into the darkness…follow Horse, Cole, Elle, and Conrad and hope that Ace was in a good mood to give us a happy ending lead us back into the light.
I definitely recommend. Heck, I recommend all her books! Every last one!!! Just know you will be emotionally exhausted after you are done.

“There is no bright white. There is no God. There is you. At the end of things, it is you. It is you filling up the ether, the in-between. There is no pain except my chest as it yearns for you, my fingers will to touch. But there you are. Again and again and again. I do not know whether my soul is destined for hell or heaven. But I do not fear the pursuit of evil or the acknowledgment of good. You will be there. Wild and safe. You will be there and there will be peace.” – Twisted Love Story by Ace Gray

I can’t recommend this story… to anyone… just keep scrolling. There is no beautifully damaged by life man with a heart of gold that just loves so deeply named Horse, that will make you melt and turn a blind eye to all of the evil deeds he is forced to do. Nope, no page turning goodness that will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning weeping into your pillow about how perfect these characters are and how beautiful this story is. None of that. I promise you won’t find seriously, one of the best stories I’ve read this year in A Twisted Love Story.

Horse’s Story is INTENSE! I assumed it would be, but what I expected is nothing close to what I got. Emotions are drained and I’m broken and whole because of this story. I will preface that I don’t overly enjoy dark reads and I don’t stray too far from F/M pairings and yet this whole story stole my heart. Ace Gray created a beautiful story full of so many flawed and at times scary characters that still find really true love on their terms. Nothing in this book is cut and dry, black and white, gay or straight, it’s about love and friendship in the purest, deepest kind in the most peculiar of places. Horse may not be for everyone, but everyone should give him a try. He has a way of burrowing into your soul, deep in your bones and not getting go.

Ace, Ace, Ace. Horse! Horse! HORSE! This book…this book killed me! And then it brought me back to life slowly, on life support, gently nurturing my battered brain and heart back to a tentative state of calm…then eventual acceptance and happiness. I absolutely loved Horse’s story. Horse–a beat down, broken too many times to count, wears his heart on his sleeve, fucking dark superhero! Ace Gray has a very special skill writing characters with tormented childhoods, and juvenile delinquent teenage years morphing into murderous adulthood. And she does it with poetry and romance and hot hot hot sexual situations. Read this book! You get gut-wrenching sadness with bursts of happiness all with the background plot of the mob and murder and mayhem. A Twisted Love Story is aptly titled because Horse’s story is tormented and twisted and sweet and loving. I suppose you can read it as a stand-alone, but I really, really, REALLY recommend reading Twisted Fate and Twisted Death too, and probably first! Ace Gray’s A Twisted Love Story gets 5 beautiful stars from me!

5 STARS
I am blown away with the fact that Ace can write dark and twisted in such a flawless way. I bow down to you, this is hands down my absolute favorite novel by you to date.
I was so excited when I heard that Horse would have his own story. I loved him in Twisted Fate and Twisted Death but never had enough of him.
I love that we were taken back to his childhood and we got to experience Horse from his youth to adulthood. We get to see how he became to man that he is, the loyal, caring, lovable, dark “monster”. I fell in love with him even more because of this.
This story had my emotions all over the place, it was intense, it was sexy, it was dark and it was heartbreakingly beautiful.
I didn’t want to put it down once I started.
If you are NOT someone who is turned off by raw and dark, this is a definite must read. If you are on the fence, well I would highly recommend this book. As raw and messed up as it can be, Ace is able to make it beautiful.
This can be read as a standalone but I would really suggest reading Twisted Fate and Twisted Death first.
Wow..intense dark read at it’s best!
Horse FINALLY got his story!!! And boy it was a WILD ride!!! This is another twisted story in the Twisted series! And it was amaze balls!!! You get Love Heartbreak Love and more Love. Ohh and more heartbreak! This book will keep you on your toes the whole ride! I would definitely recommend!!!
Dark romance at its finest! That’s the only coherent sentence I can make after having my heart shattered to pieces because of the beauty that is Horse’s story. No one writes disturbing, dark and twisted as exquisitely as Ace does. She manages to capture the human essence, the deepest emotions, the pain, the suffering and make the violent chaos oh so brutally beautiful. I could physically feel the words clawing into my soul, urging me to hug Horse, making me cry throughout the whole journey. But as gut-wrenching and devastating as it was I still absolutely loved it.
It was intense. Heartbreaking. Raw. And my favorite Ace Gray book!
