Astrid Jonasson’s life has been a series of disappoints, both to her family and herself, which is why she’s chosen to stay clear of her Lycan clan. When a series of events forces her back into the center of the New York clan life, she bumps into an old childhood crush. Zac Vrost, son of the clan’s Beta, has always been out of reach for her. However, seeing Astrid Jonasson again makes him want to break all the rules just to get close to her. I love throwing in a good paranormal romance into my book shelf and Alicia Montgomery is the way to go!! I often find myself making sure the paranormal romance books aren’t too skeevy ( I have said this before in previous reviews but I definitely want ROMANCE– no cheating, no descriptions of the main characters with someone else…yuck!). Alicia Montgomery is FANTASTIC with her paranormal Generations series!!! I LOVE the romance, the protectiveness the main characters have for one another and with a bit of action to spice things up!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
ONE ENGAGING TREAT!!
A riveting, fast paced, easy to follow, action packed read with surprises that keep your heart racing and your adrenaline pumping. With a rollercoaster of emotions, this is one read that will bring you to your knees. With a combustible chemistry between two of the main characters you’ll fall in love with them. One team, one family, one hell of a ride. Alicia has surpassed even my imagination in her talents to bring this read to such realistic proportion that leaves you breathless and begging for more. Remarkable job Alicia, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
This is the first book in the second generation series and it does stand alone, But i suggest you read The True Mates Series . Their great books along with The Lone Wolf Defenders . I’m looking forward to more book from this world.
I volunteered to read an advanced copy of this book and was not obligated to leave this review.
Really enjoyed finding out about what happened will the next generation of True Mates.
I really enjoyed this story!! I loved the characters and getting to see the second generation this time around. This is the first book in the second generation series and it does stand alone. You could start reading this book without having read the books in the original True Mates series but if you have read them you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this one as well. I loved getting to see the parents and catching up with them so many years later. We get to see that they had peace for a few decades but now their children are grown and are going to have to deal with their enemies again. I loved getting to meet the second generation and actually getting to see personalities. This story was well written and drew me in from beginning to end. I felt that it set up the rest of the series well, as we are introduced to the fact that their enemies are back and looking to start another war with them. There was plenty of action along with the romance and relationship building between the two main characters. I loved Astrid and Zac throughout the story. I loved the banter between Astrid and Zac and the rest of the characters. It definitely kept me entertained and my attention the entire time. I’m super excited for the next book in the series and to see where we go from here.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Astrid is a mix lycan and magic. Her job is to help dress the strippers lol no she is their security guard at the Vixen den. It’s a gentleman ‘s club in New york. One night when she was protecting the girl her wolf id came out so she had to call the lycan head council for help.
Zac vrost is the son of the new York’s clan beta and their human liaison. Sort of clan royalty. When he takes one look at Astrid all grown up he and his wolf goes nuts.
There is a lot of danger in this one, drama, mystery, awesome characters, and more. I couldn’t out it down. The author did a fantastic job adding all the twist and turns to the story! Don’t miss it.
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly love it

LOVE IT! FAN-TASTIC! All the old gang is back, NO wait I mean the next generation.
We were there when the babies were born now they’re old enough to follow their parent’s footsteps.
Astrid Jonasson is part Wolf Shifter and
part Witch, drifting from one job to another not knowing yet what she wants to do. Working at a gentleman’s club just might be it but right now she’s in trouble and must get help.
Zachary Vrost aka: Zac is a Wolf Shifer who just came from London to vist family and friends. Zac is offered a job But he likes his job in London, until?
Astrid is who I wanna be when I grow up. She might think she’s not much, but she’s wrong. She is strong, determined and doesn’t like to be in the spotlight. Zac is the pack Beta’s son. Handsome, strong, smart and protective. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. I loved Zac’s determination to get to know Astrid. She is afraid her heart will be broken again and avoids the pull between them. I was disappointed in him when she finally gives in and he turns his back. I loved how Astrid aids in the attack on the Alpha to everyone’s amazement. They are so good together. I have read this author and every book is a treat. This looks to be another winning series. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Big Mess, wrong place, right time ?! Astrid has a problem, unfortunately she can’t fix it by herself. Help comes in the form of almost everyone, including her one time crush Zac. It’s been years since they’ve seen on another. However the connection that sparks between them can’t be denied, even as issues from the past, and self doubt affect there present. A great start to the next generation of True Mates.
I loved the other series and hated to see it end once they all found their True Mates. Now, their children search for their own mates and encounter danger just like their parents.
Astrid and Zac are both part of the pack but live very different lives. She doesn’t feel she is on his level but he knows what he wants. They have this amazing chemistry and really click as a couple right away. There is plenty of action and surprises too.
I loved seeing old favorites and can’t wait to read the other stories featuring both generations of characters.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
An amazing addition to the True Mates world. I don’t know what it is about them but I love these books. Ms. Montgomery is amazing and so creative. She always has a new twist that pulls you in.
She has always had a crush on him but thought he was unattainable and out of her league. He can’t understand how he never noticed her before. But everything seems to be working against them. Add in the mages and their attacks and you have a full on adventure with fighting and plenty of romance.
I love this series. This book is full of suspense, twists, returning characters from earlier books, and romance. You never know what’s going to happen on the next page. I think this was the best one so far. I volunteered to read an advanced copy of this book.
The NYC Lycans are back and better than ever!
Set about thirty years after the original True Mates series, this new series focuses on the children of our favorite couples and the passing of the torch to the next generation. Nick and Cady’s son, Zac, is paired with Meredith and Daric’s daughter, Astrid in this first book that does a fantastic job of catching us up with all the gang as well as establishing the new characters and the latest threat that our clan has to face.
There’s a lot going on here, and for fans of the original series this is a must-read book. It’s a standalone romance, but as with the author’s other series there’s an ongoing story arc that is developed across the books. All the tension, intensity, and steam that a reader could want is packed into an exciting and sensual love story. There are more than a few surprises, and a triumphant HEA with the author’s signature True Mates flair. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Next generation…new threat
My first introduction to this author was the “True Mates” series and I was hooked. Now the next generation is ready to find their mates and face a new threat. First up is Astrid and Zachary. If you read the original series, and why wouldn’t you, then you know the backstory between their fathers. You would also kinda/sorta already know these two were destined. Even if the road to their HEA was “rocky”, the chemistry between Astrid and Zac was undeniable. I can’t wait for the next book.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Wow. Oh my gosh. This book is the first one of a next Generation spinoff.
Zac is Nick and Cady’s Vrost son that we were introduced to in Blood Moon.
Astrid is Meredith and Daric’s daughter that we were introduced to in Tempted by the Wolf.
Ok. So Zac and Astrid didn’t run in the same circles growing up. But Astrid still had a crush on Zac. Something embarrassing happened when Astrid was 21. When an incident happens at one of Astrid’s many jobs she’s had years later and Zac finally notices her it’s not surprising she is reluctant to have anything to do with him.
Go get this book right now and find out how everything works out.
This is a stand alone and therefore can be read without reading the others. But Alicia is such a talented writer that I highly recommend all her books.
I really enjoyed this book, It is always good to revisit the old characters and meet some new ones.
What an amazing start of a new series – though technically it isn’t a new series but the next generation of the True Mates, picking up 30 years after the original series ended with all the kids grown up and ready to find their True Mates. It’s like a huge family-saga – you re-meet all the “old” Lycans, but now the next generation is in the forefront. But it would be boring, If there weren’t any danger to fight, so after the big Battle in Norway a very long time ago the mages are in the uprising, threading the Lycans. Astrid and Zac in the middle of it…
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Another good story about True Mates and their offsprings.
Astrid is part lycan and witch who doesn’t quite have it all together.
Zac is a lycan who mostly have It together.
They grew up together but haven’t seen one other in a while.
While at work Astrid causes trouble which involves the lycans security that where the complications
begins.
Trouble with mages avalanche love tension passion.
Good interesting exciting story.
Enjoyed reading, looking forward to more about the offsprings.
Voluntarily reviewed
This overall starting book was nice and I am invested in reading about the others in this next generation series.
I’m struggling to put names to stories as it has been so long since I read the True Mates series and I just don’t have time to go back and read them at the moment.
Quick recap. Zachary or Zac, is Nick and Cady Vrost’s son that we were introduced to in Blood Moon. Nick is the pack Beta and head of security. They had a tough time against the mages with Cady being kidnapped.
Astrid is Meredith and Daric’s daughter that we were introduced to in Tempted by the Wolf. Daric was at one time a mage and was instrumental in kidnapped Cady. He then switched sides and helped the good guys but has stayed on the outside of the main social circles.
As you can see there will be a few problems on the way to a HEA.
So Zac and Astrid know of each other but didn’t run in the same circles growing up. Astrid had a crush on Zac and tried to get his attention when she was 21 which led to an embarrassing situation.
Zac has been oblivious to Astrid in the past until he sets eyes on her.
Though this went at a reasonable pace I sometimes felt at times it dragged and at others raced.
Astrid was likeable if a bit too IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH for Zac. She also forgave him too quickly for my liking. If he can act like that once, he can do it again.
Nick was a bit judgemental for someone in his position. So much time has passed and he has still not forgiven Daric.
Thank goodness Cady was around to slap him upside the head.
Zac, hmm. So want to like him, which I do, but he was quick to hurt Astrid rather than think things through. There is always more to a story than you get told.
Obviously we know who the main people are the books will be about but I do hope some of the side characters get their stories blended in.
I dislike that the mages have come back, that was a part of the original series I never enjoyed.
The behaviour in a couple of places was a bit silly. After two attacks, when a strange man is at the wedding, Zac tells no one and Astrid feels someone watching her but they shrug it off. Not realistic with what had happened.
Here we go again! A whole new set of love stories, same old clan. But now it’s years later and the kiddos are all grown up. Astrid is kind of a loose cannon, with low self esteem, and a lame reason to not give things with Zac a fair shot. Once he sees her for the first time in years, he is single minded in trying to win her over. These two zing! And watch out, because now there’s a new trouble brewing, the likes of which haven’t been seen in decades. This is just book one so you know things are gonna get crazy. Astrid and Zac do get their happy ending, though. I’m excited to see where this journey leads us.
