Its one of the best books written by John Grisham….my all time favourite.
The author has dealt with a very difficult subject with so much sensitivity and empathy…leaves one thinking about it long after one has finished reading it.
A must read !
I couldn’t put this book down. A tragic story with much suspense.
I bought this to re-read after A Time for Mercy came out, because I couldn’t remember the details of this. I’m sure I read this when it was re-released after The Firm hit big. I remembered the plot, but I didn’t remember what a jerk Jake was. I kept wondering how I got thru this book the first time. For most of the book, Jake has no redeeming …
A Time To Kill is John Grisham’s first book in a long line of legal thrillers. The story takes place in the small, rural town of Clanton, Mississippi, where racial tensions race out of control following the heinous rape and beating of Tonya Hailey, a ten-year-old black girl. Mr. Grisham doesn’t hold back on racial slurs or narratives of black …
It is the best book I read in a long time. Most books I get bored. This one here, I looked forward to reading it every evening.
Beautiful Writing. I don’t want to spoil anything
I haven’t read a new Grisham in ages, but based on the ones I have read (and there are many), this is not only his first book, but in my opinion, also his best. A great legal thriller that was turned into a great movie.
This was excellent!!!
I read this book some time ago but I loved it and the movie was great as well. Definitely worth a read.
One of Grisham’s best!
Grisham is an amazing writer to help common people understand the law. He normalizes racism because he grew up in the southern United States and loves all peoples equally. He treats all as Gods creation who deserve to be heard and fought for in matters of justice.
My favorite John Grisham book
Loved the book.
Read this book before the movie came out and it’s truly one of the most powerful, heartbreaking stories ever told by a master storyteller. And sadly, it’s still timely.
I loved this book.EXCELLENT. WRITING IN-DEPTH CHARACTERS. VREY REALISTIC. AND ALSO SPRINGING SOME SURPRISES. GREA. PORTRAIL OF VARIABLES IN A STRONG. MARRIAGE. HISTORICALLY ACCURATE VIEW OF A SOUTHERN TOWN AT THAT PERIOD OF TIME.ANJOYED THE CONCLUSION. TOP KNOTCH BOOK.
Engrossing plot with realistic characters.
Totally engaging legal novel set in the deep South
Love everyone of his books inc. this one
I stole the paperback of this book from my mom’s nightstand and have read every Grisham novel since. This is one of my favorite books ever. It may have much to do with when I read it and who I was when I read it, but the story and the legal procedure and the characters and events have stuck with me for over 30 years.
