An excellent read from a master storyteller. I wish I was half as good and a tenth as successful.
I read this book probably once a year. There is always another “layer” I find, or forgot about. It’s just a good classic book. I can relate to all the characters & their reasoning & their emotions. The line between right & wrong is grey & winding throughout the whole book. The opening chapter makes me sob every time I read this book. The closing …
Wonderful book!
This was a great book kept my interest until the very end if I would have had the time would have read it in a day.
Love all his books!
Jake’s closing argument is incredible. My favorite Grisham book (and favorite Grisham movie). Definitely a book that you’ll read multiple times.
My all time favorite of his books! Wonderful!
Absolutely amazing, wonderfully written and leaves you feeling like you were right there. Holding your breath.
A good read like all of his books

Great book! I think by now everyone has read this one and if they haven’t then they should get to it!
John Grisham’s writing is consistent and I love the twists.
This was his first novel, and still his best.
This is my first John Grisham novel. Although I hated the use of the n word, I understood that it needed to be used in the book. I was surprised at the timing of the book. I actually thought it sounded like the 60s, certainly not the 80s. The insight into the deep South of the 80s was amazing. I can’t wait to read Sycamore Row.
The 1st book written by the author. A young lawyer must save the life of a Black Father on trial for popping a cap into 2 stupid rednecks who raped his daughter. He uses his boss’s help to pick a jury and from there game on.
My introduction to John Grisham is a gripping tale that accurately presents the south in America during this time period. The opening scene is intense and unforgettable. The story of the trial and especially the final closing arguments captured my attention and would not let me go. Highly recommend!
Read it many years ago. Still remember it as a worthwhile book to read. Actually one of Grisham’s best
Very authentic, keeping your interest throughout every chapter. The story was so well told, and emotional. Well done!
I have only read John Grisham’s A Time to Kill once, but every time I think of the book, it’s easy to see why it’s a major classic! For those who have not had been fortunate enough to read this suspenseful, enjoyable, powerful story and are unaware of the premise, the plot involves Jake Brigance, a young lawyer in a small town in Mississippi who …
John Grisham’s first world-wide seller is still relevant and a great read. NEVER turn down a Grisham book!!
