He can’t stay. She can’t let him go.Halley, stuck covering house-sitting jobs for her self-absorbed mom, has Hollywood dreams but no real life. Until the day covering for her mom leads to a tumble back to London, 1598, where Halley meets a hot, rich earl named Edmund. And accidentally brings him to the 21st century. Her dull summer just got a whole lot more interesting as she tells Edmund to keep … she tells Edmund to keep his hands off tech he doesn’t understand and a deadly sword he can’t use in public brawls. All while trying to keep from falling for him, which definitely can’t happen.
Now Halley’s job is to get Edmund back where he belongs–while preventing a very scary scientist from suspecting she messed with his time machine. If the evil scientist finds out about Edmund, Edmund’s as good as dead. And what might that do to history? Not to mention, Halley would be next in line …
Summer’s not boring anymore.
Halley just needs to keep from getting killed, save Edmund (and history) before it’s too late, and not fall for a guy who can’t stick around.
No matter how much she want him to.
A THIEF IN TIME is a sweet, clean, time-travel romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers, packed with danger and historical detail.

I enjoyed this first book in the series, and now have read the next two. The good friends find themselves in some scary situations, but I like happy endings for each of them.
If you like Time Travel books, this is definitely a must. This was a bit different then other Time Travel books that I have read. Really liked the characters Edmund and Halley. One of those books that you don’t want to put down. Definitely recommend!
Liked the way the author portrayed the character from the past – realistic.
Grabbed me from the beginning, from the main character’s not so sweet ‘home sweet home,’ to a romantic complication resulting from the odd machine in a housesitting job basement and the machine’s reaction to an earthquake. Or was it a reaction?
Love love love time travel!!!
I loved the book!! Great storyline, very original and keeps you reading. I was really happy there were more books in this series
Absolutely loved this book and it’s characters. Loved how Halley and Edmund interacted together and her friends. I like time travel books and this one was one of my favorites. Thank you.
Told my friend who lives in the area the book is set. She loved it.
A good time travel read.
I loved this book! A time travel that isn’t like all the rest.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The story developed nicely and the characters were believable and funny.
It was a fun trip back in time. Light reading!
Excellent ! Good read !
I enjoy reading time travel novels to see how novel authors can be in their approach and Cidney Swanson was creative with her story. I found her writing style a bit of an adjustment to my usual reads but then I got in the flow of the story and stayed with it. I loved the part about adding the zeroes to her paintings! An enjoyable read.
I thought it was totally entertaining.
A fantasy time-travel romp involving trips back in time, bringing Elizabethan character forward in time (to his great confusion), and a love and adventure story that kept me happily turning pages. The setting of Santa Barbara was vividly created.
I wanted to read something good on my Kindle, and saw this author’s name and thought, “Cool! I like Cidney’s writing. I’ll read this.” (I’ve read RIPPLER and SAVING MARS.) So I plunged right in and enjoyed a nice, lively, fun, and romantic read about time travel. The characters were great to hang out with, and although a couple things in the end happened a bit too easily, it was overall a satisfactory wrap-up that left a smile on my face. I also liked the twists/end results concerning Halley’s narcissistic mother and unknown father.
Great start to a FANTASTIC series! Very well developed characters, their families and situations are completely relatable. I’ve been chatting it up all over Facebook!
For Young Adults a great read
It was okay. A bit slow for my taste.
