To Aggie Harper every day is Christmas. Even if that means late nights and a non-existent love life to keep her beloved mother’s knitting store that specializes in ugly Christmas sweaters afloat. She loves her small Texas town life and believes she is living her dream until a big city stranger strides through the front door of her store and has her question what she really wants from life.Since … life.
Since the death of his mother, corporate lawyer Mason Firth lives to work, especially when tinsel adorns storefronts and he can’t escape the aroma of gingerbread. A mysterious unpaid family loan sends him to Last Stand, but instead of discovering any answers he finds himself risking a sugar coma from Christmas baked goods, making barbed wire Christmas wreaths and losing focus whenever around warm hearted Aggie.
Can a woman determined to spread Christmas joy and a man resistant to emotion and all things mistletoe, create their own Christmas miracle?

While this book was a good book, it didn’t seem to hold my attention as much as I would have liked it to.
I enjoyed reading this novel!
I loved this book
Great book and a must read if you love Last Stand Texas. I would definitely recommend this book.
Yes i read a Christmas book in Feb. Who cares i read them all year long. Esp good ones and this falls into that category. I simply fell in love with the main character of this book. I was so excited that there is someone who likes to create inside a book. No i do not knit but i do sew and I sew a great deal. In this book we get to know Aggie Harper up close and personal and also her love of all things Christmas. But especially Ugly Christmas sweaters. Then we meet her new boarder Mason who is the opposite. He is there in town on a mission that he is keeping close to his chest. Not only that he doesn’t like Christmas. I am not sure if Last Stand will be still standing when fate finishes with these two. Wink
Alissa Callen’s A Texas Christmas Wish will have you ready for the holiday season. In this Christmas romance, you will find yourself in a town very much ready and experiencing the holiday spirit. Last Stand is decorated and ready to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Addie is all about everything Christmas and slowly we see that Mason opens himself up to more than his workaholic lifestyle.
I am always ready to read more Alissa Callen.
A Texas Christmas Wish by Alissa Callen was such a delightful book. This book has all he feels you look for in a perfect read. All the characters, including secondary, were delightful while complex as well. I heartfully enjoyed every moment of the story. Add a bit of intrigue and mystery as well as a town devoted to Christmas and you couldn’t ask for more. This is not a new author for me. I have read many books by Alissa Callen and enjoyed them all. Her talent for telling a story AND engaging the reader is one of my favorite aspects of her writing. I will definitely keep coming back for more.
Aggie and Mason…..
Aggie was a very relatable character to me. I loved everything about her. Everything! Of the dozens of books I’ve read this year (over 200 actually) she is the first heroine I remember. Not because this is a recent read, but because she reminded me so much of myself, of my aspirations, and love of all things Christmas. Throw in an intriguing, handsome hero and a town that goes above and beyond with Christmas decorating and special events, and I couldn’t be happier.
Aggie is going through a rough time with finances, hoping the holiday shopping season will be a prosperous one. Since her mother passed away, Aggie is only focused on keeping her mother’s dream alive, hence keeping the knitting store open. Hey, if the shop closes, where will everyone in town buy their Ugly Christmas sweaters? 😉
Mason, is determined to solve a mystery. Before his mother died, she loaned money to a company in Last Stand, Texas years ago. Who is this company and why did his mom loan her personal finances out?
Mason is somewhat of a Grinch. Since he lost his mother, his Christmas spirit went along with her. I’ll admit, mason was not an easy nut to crack. For the most part, Mason was a polite grump, lol. Aggie saw something inside of him. Something deep down that convinced her he was hurting. As much as Mason was determined to discover who the mysterious company was, Aggie was just as determined to help Mason believe in the spirit of Christmas. Last Stand, Texas was the perfect place to help her do that.
The interactions between these two were fun to watch. The development of their characters and of their relationship was believable and sincere. All through the book, I wondered about the mystery of the loan and how these two could make a relationship work when they lived states apart.
You’ll just have to read to find out. I truly loved the premise of this book, the characters and how everything tied together for a beautiful ending.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
Mason’s Mom has been gone for 15 years and Mason and his Father still receive Christmas gifts from her every year along with a card in her handwriting. They are not sure where they are coming from because where the postage stamp is has been blacked out so they can’t see it. Mason fears each year that this will be the last present from his Mom but he isn’t ready to let go yet. He still misses her as much now as he did then. He dreads Christmas without her. When he opens the present and card this year his fears come true. She states this is the last one he will be receiving from him.
Also Mason’s father steps down from the family business even though he is there every day he is leaving the running of the business to Mason. Mason comes across a paper that says before his Mom passed away she made a personal loan to a company in Last Stand for 6 figures. The loan is being repaid every month but the last payment they received was a little late. Mason asks his Dad about it but he doesn’t know who it was too.
Mason sets out to find out. This is when he meets Klaus at the Saloon and Klaus tells him since the Bed and breakfast are totally book he knows of an apartment over the top of a store that sells ugly Christmas sweaters. Mason goes there to rent the apartment for two weeks and meets Aggie.
A truly amazing love story. Some would say even a Magical one.
I had so enjoyed the Wildflower Ranch Series that I was thrilled to see the first book in the new Wildflower Hill Series, A Texas Christmas Wish. Alissa Callen’s newest book takes Mason Firth to Last Stand, Texas where he is looking for some answers. What he finds is Aggie Harper.
I guess I would not have put ugly Christmas sweaters and Texas together. It works for this story in this age of online ordering. Christmas plays a major part in this story for Mason and Aggie. Mason needs the closure he finds but also the holiday spirit and romance which work together. Heartwarming wonderful story with fond mother memories.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. Alissa Callen’s Book was just wonderful to read. I loved the underlying mystery in the book and especially loved when it was revealed. This is the story of Mason Firth and Aggie Harper. Both are workaholics and avoided relationships. After Mason’s mother died, he put everything into his work. He worked in the family business, with his father throwing all sorts of things his way to handle, although his father was theoretically retired. Mason finds an unpaid loan his mother made to a business or person in a place called Last Stand Texas. He knows his mother was from Oregon so some digging found she was born in Last Stand. The latest payment was late and he decides he wants to learn what this is all about. His mother had been having Christmas presents delivered each year to him and his father for years after she died. He had no idea who was sending them. He learned that this was the last one in her note. As a result he’s avoided anything holiday related.
Mason arrives in Last Stand with nowhere to stay. It is leading up to Christmas and the town is super decorated. He avoids any decorations or activities linked to the holidays. He goes to the saloon for a drink and talks with the bartender Klaus who gives him a lead for a place to stay. Aggie runs a Ugly Christmas Sweater and Yarn and Knitting Store with a semi ready apartment above. Klaus sent him to rent the apartment for double the charge but Aggie won’t let him. She does agree to rent it. Aggie finds she likes having Mason there. He doesn’t tell her or anyone right away what he’s looking for. Aggie starts to include him with her friends and they do the same. His father calls constantly to find out if he’s learned anything about the loan. He finally asks Klaus if he know of the company the loan is from and he promises to look into it.
I love how Mason and Aggie start to come out of their shells and start to warm up to the other. She shares her holiday spirit with him and he becomes more willing to participate in the various town events. The story portrays such a wonderful place to celebrate the holidays and all the characters seem like people it would be fun to be with. I just loved this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
It’s been a while since I read Alissa Callen, and have always enjoyed her books. Her Wildflower Ranch series is one of my favorites that I’ve revisited many a time.
“A Texas Christmas Wish” has the charm of Alissa’s writing as she brings corporate lawyer Mason Firth to Aggie Harper’s small town of warmth, tinsel and loving citizens. A search for answers from his mother’s past opens a path of love and romance for Mason, as he spends time with Aggie.
Aggie and Mason make a beautiful couple and with the support of the small town of family and friends, “A Texas Christmas Wish” is heartwarming read, perfect for the beginning of the holiday season.
Received an ARC from Tule Publishing through Book Funnel for an honest review.

This is Aggie Harper and Mason Firth’s story.
Aggie Harper didn’t know what she’d done. All she knew was that for such bad luck to have found her, a buzzard’s shadow must have crossed her path, she’d walked under a ladder, and she’d pointed at a Texas headstone.
Conscious that she stood on a very public street of a very curious town with her hands planted on her hips and her expression resembling a thundercloud, she took a deep breath. But even as air stole into her lungs and flicked her internal switch to calm and composed, the enormity of the disaster in front of her didn’t diminish.
The crack curving across the glass of the store window to the left of the doorway didn’t appear a big deal. Parts of the break weren’t any thicker than a strand of silk knitting yarn. The damage was immense.
Mason arrives in Last Stand with nowhere to stay. It is leading up to Christmas and the town is super decorated.

Mason hates the Christmas season since the passing of his mother. Finding the unpaid loan papers sent him on a journey to a little town called Last Stand. For him, he was thinking it would be simple go there find out who it was and what his mother’s connection to it was. Only he didn’t bargain for meeting Aggie or having to get involved or roped into the Christmas spirit. And actually enjoying it. There was something about this little town that made it hard to leave or was that Aggie’s presence? Does he find the answers he needs or does a little Christmas love slip upon him? Enjoyed this sweet Christmas story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing.
