I loved this book! It was hard to put down. I love Harper Bravo and Linc Stryker together they sizzle. Harper had plans to leave her home in Valentine Bay. Linc came to have a special Christmas with his orphaned niece and nephew and then to return home to Portland after the holidays. Neither was looking for love and they found it just in time to have a happy ever after for the New Year! Celebrate the holiday season with a visit to Valentine Bay.
This is the 3rd book I read by Christine Rimmer. I loved this book’s storyline. I loved the hot & steamy scenes. I loved Harper’s character. I loved Linc’s character. I loved Jayden & Maya. I didn’t like Linc’s mom. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Rimmer.
Wow! What a perfect romantic story for the holidays! This story has it all! A sexy executive with an adorable young niece and nephew, a strong smart & loving heroine, and some challenging relationships for the hero along with a self serving ex-fiancé. Lincoln has custody of his orphaned nephew & niece after their parents were killed in a plane crash. He takes them to the family beach house in Valentine’s Bay hoping to give them the best Christmas ever. The nephew talks about Harper & Hailey Bravo on the trip to the beach as they had met the ladies the previous Christmas with their parents which Linc had not attended. Linc quickly discovers that he needs help with the kids so that he can work part of the day. He hires Harper as the nanny. The kids adore her! Linc & Harper call into a comfortable friendship and fall in love. No spoilers here. You will have to discover the details yourself.
“A Temporary Christmas Arrangement” by Christine Rimmer the 10th book in the Valentine Bay series is a great addition to the series. This is the story of Harper Bravo & Linc Stryker. Harper has plans to relocate to Settle in the new year and Linc is just trying to get thru the holidays with his niece & nephew. Jayden and Maya recently lost their parents and now are being raised by Linc. He decided to spend Christmas in Valentine bay with the children so he can keep the family tradition. Linc needs a nanny and Harper needs money for her big move. Harper becomes their temporary nanny so Linc can do his job. Their Chemistry is undeniable but his past and her move to Settle. Can they meet in the middle? Do they have a chance??? The only way to find out is to read “A Temporary Christmas Arrangement” to see if they get their happy ever after.
Hoping to make Christmas better for his niece and nephew, Linc goes to the house his family owns in Valentine Bay for the holiday. He gets in a bit over his head by not bringing the nanny but wants a ‘family’ Christmas.
Harper, getting ready to make some life changing decisions, needs to bump up her bank account. When Linc makes her an offer she can’t refuse, Harper jumps in with both feet.
What a fabulous Christmas story. Ms. Rimmer once again took us through all the feels. Orphans, an Uncle who wants to make everything OK for them, but it will never be the same, and the last uncoupled woman who has a huge family of couples trying to make good choices for herself. Decisions need to be made by both Linc and Harper. Will they be able to pull together for each other or will others pull them apart?
When Lincoln Stryker’s sister and Brother-in-law die while on vacation, it leaves him with their 2 small children to raise. Exit the fiancé when he puts the children first. Linc takes Jayden & Maya to Valentine Bay for Christmas like their parents used to and thankfully runs into Harper Bravo when Jayden takes off to her cabin next door and they meet with immediate attraction. Hailey agrees to nanny the children to help earn money for her move at the beginning of the year that is meant “to find herself”. The attraction deepens more and more and the children get more and more attached to Harper. Linc’s Mother repeatedly tries to intervene and pulls all sorts of shenanigans in order to get Linc to take back her best friends daughter aka the ex fiancé. There are so many emotions going through my head a a reader until the very end and then the epilogue will blow your mind!!! This is a must read and a great continuation of Valentine Bay for sure!
I loved this book. I really love how Christine creates real down to earth characters with real quirks, pressures and problems. Fast read, great characters and I suggest you go get it so you can meet Jayden. He is a riot.
Christine Rimmer does it AGAIN with this latest edition from the Bravo’s of Valentine’s Bay. Linc and Harper’s love story just made me want to keep reading. The wonderful way the attraction between them weaves through the story was so gripping that I couldn’t put it down!! I love that Harper’s love for the kids makes it harder for her to admit she’s fallen for Linc and his devotion to the kids keeps him from declaring his love for her! I can’t wait for the next edition to come out!! Thank you, Christine Rimmer for such a WONDERFUL story for the Christmas season!!
A Temporary Christmas is the ninth book in Christine Rimmer’s: A Bravos of Valentine Bay series. Harper Bravo has plans to relocate in the new year to Seattle. She’s biding her time helping coordinate a holiday play with her sister. Out of the blue, she is greeted by two children whom she met the previous year. Jayden and Maya have recently lost their parents and are now being raised by their uncle Linc.
Linc Stryker is a businessman who runs Stryker Marine and has recently broken his engagement from his longtime fiancée. He decided to spend Christmas at their home in Valentine Bay so he could keep up holiday traditions with the children. Linc realizes he can’t run his business and take care of the children at the same time so he hires Harper as their nanny.
One thing both of them are familiar with is grief. He losing his sister and brother-in-law and she her brother Finn, who went missing in Serbia when she was a child, along with her parents who were killed in a tsunami.
As they grow closer together, the deadline of her relocation looms in the background. Will he convince her to give them a chance? Will Linc’s fiancée cause Harper to rethink their whole relationship?
Christmas is a special time of year and A Temporary Christmas is a wonderful story that I highly recommend. Ms. Rimmer treats us to glimpses of past characters. It is also a standalone book; however, I suggest reading the other books in the series. I look forward to the next book in the series where we discover where Finn has been all the years.
I received an advance copy of A Temporary Christmas which I chose to read and review. This is my honest opinion.
Kids, Love, and Christmas. Who could resist? This is a wonderful holiday read.
Another fantastic Bravo book. Linc Stryker arrives in Valentine Bay determined to give his orphaned niece and nephew a Christmas to remember. He’s feeling just a bit overwhelmed as he tries to balance work and caring for Jayden and Maya. Lucky for him, he meets Harper as soon as he arrives.
Harper Bravo is the last of her siblings (except for the missing Finn) left uncoupled. That’s okay with her as she has plans that don’t include staying in Valentine Bay. Though she enjoys working with the production company she and her sister Hailey own, she is looking for more. Harper has plans to move to Seattle and pursue her architecture dreams. All she needs is enough money to make the move.
I loved the first meeting between Linc and Harper. While Linc gets Maya out of the car, Jayden takes off for Harper’s cottage, which is next door. He remembers her from the previous year. Surprised at finding Jayden alone at her door, she takes him back to the Stryker house. Linc’s relief at seeing her with Jayden is evident, and Harper quickly jumps in to help him get settled with the kids. Knowing a good thing when he sees it, Linc offers to pay Harper to watch the kids when he has to work.
I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Linc and Harper. The sparks between them are obvious from the beginning, but both try to ignore them. Linc is only in Valentine Bay for the holidays, and Harper has her plans in Seattle. I liked watching them become friends, sharing some alone time as they get to know each other. The attraction between them continues to simmer until they decide to give in to it. The more time they spend together, the more Linc wants to see where it goes while Harper fears that they won’t last past the holidays. Just as she agrees to continue the relationship past the new year, a combination of events makes her rethink that plan. I ached for her on Christmas, as she realized her feelings for Linc only to have him make a bone-headed mistake (though with good intentions). To make matters worse, Linc’s ex-fiancée arrives in a desperate attempt to get him back. I was very impressed with Linc’s ability to maintain his cool around that spoiled brat of a woman and her two enablers. I loved seeing Hailey show up with some advice for Harper about not giving up. Even better was Hailey’s straight talk with Linc and what he did with it.
Family is always a big part of the Bravo books. For Linc, nothing is as important to him as making sure that Jayden and Maya have a happy holiday. He’s a bit worried about pulling it off because he didn’t have the best example growing up. His mother is still bitter over her divorce from Linc’s father, and her conversations with Linc show it. She is also selfish and interfering. Linc’s father has always been distant and is on his third wife. There were some terrific scenes with him as he showed some unexpected changes in attitude. Jayden and Maya are simply adorable.
The Bravo family is large and loving. Sunday family dinners have played a part in all of the books as love interests are included. I liked the way that Linc and the kids fit so easily into the group. Their brother Finn, who disappeared during a family trip when he was ten, is always on their minds. Each book has talked about their ongoing search for him. There’s an unexpected development in that search during the epilogue, and I can’t wait for the next book to see where it goes.
Life threw Lincoln Stryker a curve when his sister and her husband were killed leaving their children behind. He became the children’s legal guardian but not before the paternal Grandparents helped to take care of them and then Linc sent them on a world cruise. Linc decides to go to the cottage in Valentine Bay since the kids remember it from last year, and he wants them to have some fond memories of the first Christmas without their parents. In comes Harper Bravo when Jayden wanders off to the neighbor’s house as soon as they arrive leaving Linc in a panic holding little Maya. She brings him back as soon as she realizes that he had left his guardian without permission and “Hawp” aka Harp to the kids is embraced by the children. Lincoln decides that she is the perfect person to ask about being the kid’s Nanny while he’s at the cottage and Harper needs the money to move away from Valentine Bay and start her adult life. Neither one of them were prepared for the intense feelings they had toward each other.
I say this after every book of Christine Rimmer’s that I read. This is the best one yet. Well she did it again. This is the best book yet. I really enjoyed the cast of characters, the story line and everyone needs a Lincoln Stryker in their life or at least I do.
Harper and Hailey live in Valentine Bay and Hailey has moved out to live with her fiance Roman. Harper is still in the cottage next door to The Stryker Family cottage in Valentine Bay. Linc shows up their with Jayden and Maya. These are his sisters children that he is now raising since losing his sister and her husband last Jan in an accident. She used to take her children to the cottage every year at Christmas so Linc wants to do that this year.
Its a really great story that I think you will enjoy. It gave me a lot of different feels reading the story but it is definitely worth the read.
I loved Harper and Linc’s story. Jayden and Maya were great sidekicks. A good romantic story that started with Harper being a nanny to Linc’s niece and nephew. Wonderfully written and easy to get caught up in.
There is nothing more romantic than a Christmas love story. This was Harper Bravos turn to find it, her new neighbor Lincoln needs help caring for his niece and nephew so they both agreed on a temporary arrangement until the new year. They both come to realize that their feelings for each other are growing deeper and deeper and he doesn’t want this to end, can he convince Harper that their love is strong enough to make it through anything? This was a wonderful Christmas read and I absolutely loved the epilogue! Another amazing read, can’t wait to read the next Bravo love story!
