Type-A chef Carolyn Henderson has walked away from her job at a trendy NYC restaurant after an abrupt family tragedy. Now, as a guardian to her four-year-old niece, Emma, and a very disobedient mutt – kids and dogs are so not her skill set – moving back to Marietta, Montana seems the best temporary option. But when confronted by her parents’ declining health, Carolyn has to face reality. And … she’s going to need some serious help. So who better to ask than Matthew West, a blast from her high school past… and as hunky and helpful as ever.
Vet – and very eligible, if reluctant, Bachelor – Matthew West can’t believe his luck when his high school crush stumbles through his door. Dogs, kids, and gorgeous damsels in distress. Carolyn needs help with the pup, and he needs help whipping up delicious concoctions for the Bachelor Bake-Off. So she wants to make a deal: dog obedience lessons for cooking tips… but Matthew wants to broker quite a bit more…

Great easy read! Loved the male lead & back story.
Light reading for an escape. I enjoyed it and would read more from this author.
It starts out dad but then it gets much better.
Cute fast read…not much meat
This book was so realistic, because spoke of so many people who are trying to run away and can’t see what it right in from of them.
The characters were very well written, and so real.
,This was such an original and heart warming story.
This is such a cute fluffy, sad and life altering story. Well known Sous Cheff Caroline must face the place and dreams she once ran from, and help raise her niece, as well as her dog. Charoline returns home to Marietta, Wyoming with hopes in leaving Emma with her parents, only to realized that was not possilbe. When faced with her high school ex-boyfriend, who is now the towns beloved veterinarian she must once again decided what she wants, Merietta or NYC. Matt is such an amazing, patient and caring guy, that its hard not to fall for him. Matt needs to learn how to bake for the bake sale and Carolyn needs a dog trainer, so they make a deal. When these two are together sparks ignight. He once made a mistake of not chasing the only woman who stole his heart and let her go, so this time he is determined to change her mind. I loved the story, there is angst, rekindled love, mourning, love, determination and family. Its about second chances at love, family and making memories. Its about taking chances and not running away
Was an easy reading book and enjoyed it very much
A good read
predictable
Poor little Emma is trying to deal with the death of her parents. Aunt Carolyn, a distinguished NYC chef becomes her guardian and feels totally helpless, so she packs up Emma’s energetic pup Roscoe and Emma and drives to Marietta to dump both with her aging parents. She is at her wit’s end and seeks the help of her old beau vet Dr. West. They trade expertise since he needs help for a bake off. There is emotional growth, love, and a very happy and touching ending.
Boring
Good Book.
If you are looking for an easy read and like romance this book would be good.
Nice romance with enough twists to keep it entertaining and a nice sigh of relief at the end.
This book was a lot of fun to read. The inclusion of the 4 yr old niece and unruly pup made it fun to anticipate what would happen next!
When a NY Chef is named guardian for a four year old niece, things become complicated for her. The niece loves her 50 pound “puppy” but the aunt isn’t a dog lover. Enter a single veterinarian who happens to need assistance for a charity back off. Wonderful read.
