I loved reading this book!
One of my favorite books of all time!
This is absolutely one of the best book books I have ever read.
A prayer for all time. The best thing Irving has done although maybe his first.
#1 fiction EVER. SUPERB. SUBLIME. TRANSCENDENT.
In my top five favorite books ever! There has never been a book that has made me feel all of the feelings that this one did. Officially made me a John Irving fan forever. IF you read this book, it will always hold a place in your mind. I promise you that.
You never know what you are going to get with John Irving! You think you know where the story is going and then “WHAM!” It’s like where did that come from? This book has so much heart and soul. I’ve read it 3 times and each time I find something new. Very touching in a rather strange way.
This is one of those books that has you wondering what the hell is going on for the first 200 pages, and then you see why all of it was in there, and each detail you thought was superfluous comes together to blow your mind. It’s legitimately one of the top 5 novels I’ve ever read.
One of all-time favorite novels.
Writing that draws you in and touches you with its sensitivity.
Probably John Irving’s best work, not counting The World According to Garp.
One of my all time favorites!
Perhaps the single best and most thought-provoking novel I’ve ever read.
IT was an excellent book well executed. The characters were very compelling as was the plot. I would suggest it to all my friends, in fact I have and they, too, found it to be an excellent book as well.
This is on my Top Ten List. I have read it twice, and may read it again
A clever story!
One of my all time favorites from John Irving. Interesting take on children then later adults that don’t quite fit with the rest of the world. I’ll never look at armadillos in the same way.
I laughed so hard while reading this I’d be too weak to hold the book up.
One of my all-time favorite books.
This is one of my favorite all-time novels. The characters are very well- drawn and original, as is the environment. It is a books that has stayed with me for many years. It really makes you think about what it means to be generous to others, true to yourself, and fully present in your life – a true gem.
