“A hot, hot series.” –Library Journal“Sizzling.” –RT Book Reviews“A chest thumping, mead-hall rocking, enemy slaying brawl of a good book.” –All Things Urban Fantasy on The Dragon Who Loved MeBraith of the Darkness likes going through life unnoticed. Not an easy task for a She-dragon of royal descent. But the evil plots of her father are turning her quiet, boring life upside down, and she has … her quiet, boring life upside down, and she has now become the enemy of the most vicious queen her kind has ever known. But for once, Braith won’t have to fight alone. Not when the warrior dragon of her dreams is willing to risk everything to save her neck.
Addolgar the Cheerful wishes he could say he’s helping the pretty royal strictly for honorable reasons–but he’d be lying. It’s not his fault, though! He didn’t tell Braith of the Darkness to have the most delicious tail he’s ever seen! Yet before Addolgar can get his very strong claws on that tail, heads are going to roll. Just hopefully not theirs. . .

Addolgar the cheerful, son of Aileen and Shalin, is called before the queen to protect a Lady heading home. Braith of the Darkness is ordered by the Queen to be the lady’s companion and keep her company. This trip leads to finding a plot to overthrow the queen.
I really liked Braith of the Darkness. She was such a kickass woman. She took no shit and had no problem beating the crap out of Addolgar and his family. Addolgar the Cheerful was an adorable, charming, goofy, and sometimes an idiot. I quite liked him. He was amusing and he tries so hard to make Braith happy. They were quite perfect for each other because they balanced each other out. I am loving the Cadwaldr family. They are so crazy and deadly.
This dragon series is one of the BEST hands down!
A good funny read!
Another novella in the Dragon Kin series. I loved Braith’s character. How she struggled with loyalty and not agreeing with what her father was doing. Addolgar made me laugh throughout the book, what a GREAT character. He was likable, amusing and easy to relate to. All in all, for a book so short this was a success for me.
Great fantasy. I’ve read the whole series!
Love the ongoing storylines. Characters are a hoot.
It was ok
very confusing beginning, difficult to follow, I kept flipping back to remember who was who.
Anything by g a Aiken is worth reading whether it is her dragon series or any other world .This one is no exception. Very interesting
If you like laugh out loud books you can’t put down….this book is for you!
It’s as good as it was the first time I read it.
Braith is a solitary dragoness that just want to be left alone in her cave. But her bastard father has other ideas. She ends up in a big mess alongside Addolgar the Cheerful from the Cadwalder clan.
Sparks fly and hammers fall in this delightful Dragon Kin novella.
I also recommend all the rest of the authors series. G.A. Aiken/Shelly Laurenston
Loooove this series. So fun to read. Great storytelling with laugh out loud humor (do not read on public transportation! I can hardly wait for the next one.
Aiken has done such fantastic world building that makes this book all the richer if you read it within the series. However, I think a reader could enjoy this as a stand alone. But like potato chips, I dare you to consume only one!
Love this entire world and all it’s ever-so-funny personalities! This author is so gifted in creating just the sort of laugh-out-loud escapism that I enjoy the most. Suspect I would read anything offered by this author when I find it…
Love G.A.Aiken she makes me laugh and want to turn the page. Can’the wait for the next book
I was totally taken by the characters in this book. It builds and builds with clever and funny personalities.
I’m hooked on the series.
G.A. Aiken’s “Dragon Kin” series often has me in stitches! In this one, the arrogance of Addolgar combined with the utter cluelessness of Braith is just comical. When you add in the ferocity of these , the political machinations and sheer deviousness of others, you have a tale I can’t put down. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read.
I always love this author.
Enjoyable
