With over 275 “Five star” reviews. Elmo Jenkins is celebrating his fifth anniversary as a staff member of First Church. Much has changed at the historic downtown church, with new Senior Pastor Billy Pike Jameson and his humorless wingman Lord Hatchet keeping Elmo more than busy. In the midst of helping the church navigate the precarious waters of starting a contemporary worship service, Elmo is … of starting a contemporary worship service, Elmo is asked to lead a mission trip to Papua New Guinea. As always, Elmo keeps his sense of humor and his faith in God’s higher purpose.
On the home front, Elmo’s feisty mother-in-law is relentlessly pressuring him to produce a grandchild. Elmo’s friend Erlene has moved into an Assisted Living Facility where she’s stirring up some serious trouble. To make matters worse, someone is systematically burglarizing the homes of the First Church membership. Could there be an inside connection?
Thurm, Harry, and Father Ted are still on board along with new friends Pearly Gates, The Radio Guy, and Stumpy the Squirrel.

Great series.
I loved all in this series
Elmo and his adventures as a young pastor are a delight.
It was a fun read.
Sorry these were very boring to me , didn’t even finish them.
A very easy read but very interesting.
A really honest look at ministry behind the scenes of a large church.
Story line is same ole same ole thru out series.
Love all these Elmo books. Surely he was brought up in a minister’s home or has a close relative or maybe was one himself. Everything is spot on!
I have read several books by this author and loved them all. I plan to read the rest in this series as well. Definitely five stars for entertainment and humor.
The Elmo books are so good. If you are aware of things that happen in a church setting, you will like reading about Elmo. I’ve read them all.
I like the book written in ‘first person”, and the antics seem believeable even though I know it is fiction. Just a fun read.
I really enjoyed each book in the series. It was funny and informative. I Wynette reading more of his books.
I have continued to enjoy this series. As a minister’s daughter, I found his stories of the interesting people and activities realistic. His missionary story showed the connection that Christians can have with each other even when culture is different.
I really enjoyed this book. It is full of inspiration and the characters are so easy to like. The entire series so far has been thought provoking without preaching at you. Very worthwhile.
This is wonderfully entertaining as well as spiritual. One of my recent favorites.
Fun and inspiring
Next to Mitford Series it is a favorite.
A wonderful insight into the life of a minister and his wife. Parishioners intertwining with each other and their clergy was most entertaining. A great read.
This author is great. Always some surprising turns and a mostly, happy ending.
