A faded scrapbook reveals secrets that reconnect old friends in a place called Sweethaven.
Campbell Carter has come to Sweethaven in search of answers about her mother’s history. Just before losing a battle with cancer, Suzanne Carter sent letters to childhood friends from her hometown of Sweethaven, Michigan. Suzanne’s three friends — Lila, Jane, and Meghan — haven’t spoken in years, yet each … years, yet each has pieces of a scrapbook they made together as girls. Suzanne’s letters have lured them all back to the idyllic lakeside town, where they meet Campbell and begin to remember what was so special about their long Sweethaven summers. As the scrapbook reveals secrets from the past, old wounds are mended, lives are changed, and friendships are restored — just as Suzanne intended.
A Sweethaven Summer is the first book in the Sweethaven series, followed by A Sweethaven Homecoming and A Sweethaven Christmas.

This is a beautifully written book with relatable characters who will steal your heart. This book is the best book I’ve read in a while.
Enjoyed this book light easy summer read.
THis book is well written. It wasn’t the canned story line, it was new and refreshing. Great Christian novel
Read one book and you are hooked. Characters became somone you wanted to know better andreally wanted to find out what’s next. You also see how true friends rise above human flaws of the young and dumb.
I love this kind of books. Easy to read, relaxing – even if a bit predictable. I thought the author did a great job of drawing me into the story- I had to get the other two books in the series from our public library to see what happened next!
Loved the characters and didn’t want it to end! Well written, so I felt like I was there. Thank you for the lovely book!
Good summer read with enough mystery that you want to keep reading. You want the characters to resolve their issues. A few suprising twists. Enjoyed reading about Michigan and the lake, even if it was fictional!
Loved this story as it was realistic with characters I could relate to. There’s a bit of mystery and includes a reunion of old friends who connect with others new to the Sweethaven town. Will look for another enjoyable read from this author!
Excellent touching read. I loved it.
Good, quick summer read. Nothing earth shattering, but easy to put down, pick up and follow the storyline.
Good easy to read, a great way to pass time while waiting or convalescent. Interesting and entertaining
It gave me an idea for an activity to do with my three best friends!
This was a wonderful book; great story.
Once I started this I couldn’t put it down. I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say I found the characters to be interesting and interesting he story had many twists and turns before it came together. I would have liked more character information on a couple of the characters, and one important event that happened in Janes family. I was …
I really enjoyed this story and the characters. A wonderful summer read.
Anyone would love that wonderful town and its special people
EXCELLENT
Amazing character development about real people. I love reading about characters who learn how to overcome life’s circumstances and challenges. Steamy is really overrated and takes over the plot in too many books. Not so in Sweethaven Summer. Just enough romance to add to the intrigue with a captivating plot.
A great read. Page turner — I could relate closely with some of the characters. Forgiveness is a main theme throughout the book, as well as God’s grace and His omnipotence.
