A Study in Spirits is the second book in the Fae College series. Bridget, Jib and gang are back for their sophomore year and right off the bat nothing is going smooth nor as planned. We left off in book one with Bridget owing a Debt that must be paid back…and now it’s payback time. Bridget must find out who is destroying the books in the library and why are ghosts disintegrating into nothingness. These two things are definitely related somehow, some way. This story turned out to be a whole lot more than what I expected and certainly much more than Bridget.
All of the main characters are back for another romp at Leopold University along with newcomer, Emma, who has special talents of her own and her Japanese key earring which is really a Tsukumogami, or a flying squirrel named Obake. Needless to say; this motley crew are in for one harrowing experience. Oh! I met King Ladisllas again. What a piece of work! I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
The story moves and develops quickly. The ending took me completely by surprise. I now have a whole new and different kind of respect for librarians… I admit, I did not see this one coming. Trouble certainly does seem to have a way of finding Bridget, though, and I’m looking forward to her next two years. Maybe…just maybe, there will be a bit more between Bridget and Logan. Fingers crossed.
It just gets better!
Year 2 was even more exciting than the 1st book. All my favourite characters are back as well as some exciting new ones. Witty, full of magic and adventure, and some potential romantic interests. I can’t wait to read the next one.
After reading the first in the series, I was excited to get my hands on this one. Again, I could not put it down. Several twists and was easy to follow. Different than most Fae books.
I really love the College Fae series. I love how the author entwines different mythologies and traditions around mythical creatures, and we slowly discovere more and more of this world. The characters are really likable and warm. One wants to know more and be with them more. I am eagerly awaiting next in series.
I was expecting “Hogwarts, the Post-Secondary Experience”. What the author gave me was both more down-to-earth and more fantastical than that. I loved how the author integrates humans and fae together in a contemporary more-than-human but less-than-Faerie-Queen way which feels like my university days (with significantly more challenging “pickles”). This author is definitely one I recommend to young adult urban fantasy readers – I am sure that those readers will relate as much to the trials and tribulations of Logan and Bridgit and their bondmates as I do.
I received a copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
New characters, more fun as the magical world expands into more than anyone can imagine. It is nice to finally see Japanese and Greek mythology mixing with European and American.
And is that attraction I see between Logan and Brigit? So exciting!
Also, I ADORE Jib. More Jib, please!
A new adventure in A College Fae Magic Series readers shouldn’t miss. Loads of mystery, deceit, espionage, and relatable college situations. Plus magic! Can’t forget the magic. If I could, I would give this book six stars as I loved it far more than the first… if that is even possible as the first was AMAZING!
I throughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to all who enjoy reading a story that flows without any obstacles in the story that would make the reading not as enjoyable as it could be!
Byrd has done a fine job and I commend her for
putting together a story one finds hard to put down.
I look forward to the next book in this series to see what my friends will face next. I had to say goodbye to one friend who was a senior at the school but maybe she will make a return appearance to check up on her friends in a later book and we can all find out how she is doing!
This book shows what can be accomplished when people of different races can put their differences aside and work together to defeat a common enemy! With the hate from the left which seeks to divide forever our country based on race, I would recommend this book to them to show the error of their ways. When ALL lives matter then and only then can harmony be reestablished in our country and not divided by the rhetoric we are constantly subjected to now!

A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) by Byrd Nash
A Study in Spirits is the second book in the College Fae series and a book I loved reading .I’ve enjoyed this series so far but this book is my favorite yet. The characters are very well developed and fun, some had me chuckling. This is Brigit’s story, she’s been accused of stealing and vandalism. In order for her to be able to stay at the University she has to find the person who did it. Can she find who did it? Find out what happens next in this must read. It’ll have you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
Brigit has been accused of cheating and she must clear her name. No one tells a dryad what to do. She has been accused of vandalism and stealing test answers, and Brigit must find who it is to enable her to stay at Leopold Otto University.
If things could not get worse, her fairy debt Doppelgänger, means she just find out who or what is prowling the Abbey library. Whatever it is, it is destroying the books that she loves, and she is determined to stop it. However, the creature maybe too powerful for Brigit and her friends.
Can she stop this monster before it destroys everything?
This is the second instalment of the Fae magic series, and we are joined again with Brigit, Logan and their group of friends, but are also introduced to a new character Called Emma. She is a human and brings in good skills to help her friends fight the creature. There is a few twists in the book, and like the first book, the humour is fantastic.
This book is brilliant, and is full of humour, magic, adventure, paranormal beings and fantasy. It is such an easy read, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very much looking forward to another instalment and would extremely recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the series and continuing to follow Brigit and Logan. Byrd Nash is a fascinating author to me and I am really enjoying this YA fantasy series. It is fun, fresh, detailed, and imaginative. It is a quick and easy read and was a very enjoyable afternoon escape. Will definitely recommend to others and looking forward to seeing how the story/series will continue.

5 out of 5 stars
The story A Study in Spirits A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) by Byrd Nash is a coming of age/fantasy book. It is a story that will pull you in from the beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down. It is the second in a series and I loved the magical creatures and other characters that are introduced. The author did an amazing job in building a world where humans, fae, and others all live and in this book work together. I loved reading the characters of Brigit and Logan. Brigit finds that she must defend herself against accusations that could get her thrown out of the university. She now must discover who or what is destroying books in the campus library. Along with Logan, Emma, and others, she sets about finding the guilty party. Will they find out the truth about who is behind the destruction at the library? Read this book to find out. This story flows smoothly and I found myself feeling like I was right there with the characters. I found myself lost in the pages and when I read the last chapter wishing that it was a little longer. I would recommend reading this book.
Devoured this like your favorite treat! Sophomore year had even more magic and drama that I absolutely loved!! Bridgit has some tough obstacles to overcome in this installment and that monster is definitely not nice!
A Study in Spirits: A College Fae magic series #2 by Byrd Nash. Some times I have a hard time getting into a fantasy type story unless I’m really wanting one but I had absolutely no problem diving right into this one. The author did a wonderful job of writing a story that draws you in. This group of characters really know how to keep you hooked. There’s twist and turns I wasn’t expecting and loved every bit of. While on the shorter side it still packs a punch and had me happily lost in the pages well into the night. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything, with characters you won’t soon forget. I’m so excited to see where this author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.
I enjoyed this book by Byrd Nash. It was about friendship and how friends will stand together to overcome a major problem. This paranormal book was a joy to read. It had drama, suspense and also a few laughs. I enjoyed the story told by Byrd Nash and I look forward to reading more from her.
I really enjoyed this YA fantasy. Although I hadn’t read the first in the series, it was easy to get into and not a lot of context was necessary. The characters were well-developed and their relationships with each other create conflict and plotlines that I really enjoyed. The humour and the magic, as well as the details and descriptions, added to the story. Highly recommend this one.

A Study in Spirits is the second book in the College Fae Series by Byrd Nash. Although I didn’t read the first book in this series, I had no problem jumping right into this story. I enjoyed this book so much, I will be going back and reading the first book. This book was filled with magic, mystery and adventure. The world building was great and the characters were well developed. Brigit, Logan and the rest of the gang took me on a wonderful adventure that I couldn’t put down until I read the last page. Byrd Nash has a wonderful imagination and a great ability to put her thoughts into amazing stories. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
A Study in Spirits: A College Fae Magic Series #2 was an interesting read. When Brigit, a fae princess, is accused of stealing the answers to a test and she sets out to clear her name. However, in the process of uncovering who really did it they start to uncover some mysterious goings on within the college library. The group of friends must utilise their special skills to uncover the truth and stop all the knowledge being removed from existence. This book is perfect for those who enjoy a good fantasy novel, the group of characters work well together and have a strong bond, when new girl Emma joins them, she seems to find her place. The supporting characters are also quite interesting, I hope to find out more about them in the next book.
A Study in Spirits by Byrd Nash is the second book in A College Fae Magic series. The author says there will be four books in the series, one for each year of school. This is a fairly short, quick read but the author accomplishes a lot in those pages. In this book Brigit has been accused of stealing answers and vandalism. With her friends she must clear her name or be expelled from school. I enjoyed the characters of Brigit and Logan as well as the secondary characters in the story. This is a nice get away from the day to day isolation from being at home giving out a bit of magic to all of us. I look forward to reading more in this series.
A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) by Byrd Nash. This is the second book in this series and I think it’s even better than the first. I’m not a huge fantasy fan but these books are the exception. I loved the first one and I believe I loved this one even more. Its the continuing story of Brigit who is a student at Leopold Otto University and if she wants to continue to be a student there she needs to prove that she is not the person stealing & changing test results. With her friend Logan and his ability to recognize the truth and their new friend Emma who may hold the key to the whole mystery they are determined to find solve this. This monster is destroying Brigit’s much loved books and she is determined to stop it not only to prove herself not guilty but to catch this horrible culprit. We meet some new friends as well in this book and they definitely add to the story. Will these monsters prove to difficult to stop or will Brigit and Logan be able to stop them before its too late? Read A Study in Spirits to find out!
