Undercover Detective Arlie Biggar had only seen the woman who bore his son five years ago on video. Now that they were in danger, he’d move from Alaska to Arizona to protect them…without letting them know who he was.
This a great start to this suspense filled series. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flows easily going through twists and turns. A sperm donor is going to have to protect the children he has out in the world through a sperm bank donation he made as a joke against his friend Jake.

The first book in the Arlie Undercover series. Once I read the Arc of this book I had to have my own copy, so I could read again when I wanted to. I will now be reading this complete mystery series.

Arlie, a former undercover cop, was shot, when on duty and carries a bullet too close to the spine to be taken out safely. He was about to retire, when an old college buddy tells him that a prank he had pulled seems to have become deadly. He had donated sperm to a sperm bank under his friend’s name, and now the man threatened. Concerned about the women who had received his sperm – as a hacker it was easy to find their details – he had kept an eye on one of them, when the other vanished from the earth. To protect his son he moves to a small town in the south. Meeting his son and the mother it seems like fate. When the second mother arrives with her son, things turn dangerous, though.
A great romantic thriller, with people who care and are willing to help all around. Sadly, there is a fatality, but in the grand picture, everyone is happy about the situation in the end.

Undercover Detective Arlie Biggar had only seen the woman who bore his son five years ago on video. As a joke he had made a deposit in a sperm bank in his friend Jake’s name. Jake called him out of the blue to tell him he had a matter of life and death to discuss!
There had been a robbery at the sperm bank and records were stolen. Shortly after, Jake got a call from what turned out to be two Mafia-type thugs. They told him they found his wallet, which he knew was not true. But he agreed to meet them and gave them a description that he would wear a bright green t-shirt. Then he dressed in black and casually walked by as they grabbed some poor 16-year-old in a green t-shirt before realizing he was too young and did not have red hair. Jake figured with the sperm bank records compromised, and Arlie being a red-head, they must be looking for Arlie. So Jake is calling to warn Arlie that because of the prank, Arlie is in danger. And he heard them say they would kill the bastard that sired the boy and then get the mother and her son, too! To keep the woman and her son – HIS son — safe, he would need to move from Alaska to Arizona without letting them know who he was. Would this plan work? Would his identity be exposed? Could he save the woman and her child?
This was a tense situation with so much information still lacking. Who are these killers? Why would they want the three of them dead? And would he be able to find them in time? Grab your copy and see what’s going on in this deadly mystery!

The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. While I was entertained by this book, I was unable to connect to the characters.

I think this is the first book I read that has this kind of plot to the story….a man who had donated his sperm years ago and finds out he’s the father to two sons from two different mothers! I liked the story, loved the humour with the boys but I do wish there would have been more interaction between Arlie and Charlene, there just wasn’t much of a love story there, not even a kiss! There are just a few scenes of them together and even then, the boys are always there as well. I love it when there romance in the story but this one didn’t have any. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad story but I just expected a little more to it.

Arlie has just found out a prank he pulled has come back to bite. He donated to a sperm bank in his friend’s name. It was chosen and now they are in danger.
Can he protect them without them finding out the truth?

As a prank Arlie donated to a sperm bank in his friend’s name. Now he gets a call from his friend that his life is in danger because of the prank. He found out that the donation had been used twice. One was living in Mesa Arizona the other he couldn’t find. It is a story that will draw you in and keep you there.
