When town trouble maker, Louella Drummond, drops dead in front of Isolde Quinn’s pet store just minutes after threatening both Issy and her cousin Graeme, the police in the small lakeside town of Silver Hollow assume it’s from natural causes.
… Until it’s discovered that Louella was murdered.
Not just any murder, though. Murder by paranormal means. Dark magic that could only have been … only have been performed by a powerful witch. And every law-abiding paranormal knows that dark magic is forbidden and carries strict punishment at the hands of “the committee” – the mysterious entity that provides law and order within the paranormal community.
Being witches, Issy and her three cousins fear they are at the top of the suspect list. To make matters worse, a secret division of the FBI has gotten wind of the happenings in Silver Hollow and sent two agents to ferret out paranormal activity. Even worse than that, Issy is annoyingly attracted to one of them!
Armed with their unconventional posse of familiars, Issy and her cousins dodge the efforts of the ‘real” police and the special FBI agents while following a twisty path of clues that lead to a shocking betrayal.

This book, and every book in this series, is just a fun read!
Fun read with a clever cat!
LeAnn Dobbs does a wonderful job of stringing characters together. good story with good ending but you have to guess at the culprit.
Too cutsey for me.
Couldn’t get into it
Leighann’s books are just plain fun!
Cute quick read.
This is a series book and I always look forward to the next one coming out. They are never soon enough.
This is a plodding story that doesn’t generate much interest until the end. In a quiet community where paranormals discretely live side-by-side with mere humans, a sudden death occurs on a public street in broad daylight. It’s a murder, but is it a poisoning or dark magic? Three witch cousins try to solve the mystery and in the process try to avoid being implicated as culprits themselves. The premise of the story wasn’t bad, there just wasn’t much going on until the last quarter of the book. Things just kind of plod along with very few twists or turns until the climax at the end. There wasn’t a lot to keep me interested along the way.
Nice, quick cozy mystery. Could use a bit more character development in the other town residents and also felt like I was missing information/backstory whenever the cousins came into the picture. Interested to read another book or two to see if I learn more about the town and it’s inhabitants other than as a quick cursory introduction.
Fun read.
Very cute and original. Characters and animal side kicks were very creative.
This story was fun to read with enough humor that I found myself smiling as I read. There were spots where the plot got a little thin, but overall I liked the book and would seek out the author’s works.
I love Leighann Dobbs and always enjoy her books. Highly recommend them.
a fun kid of ‘magic’
Would make a good “witch” Hallmark movie.
Can’t beat Leighann Dobbs- another great read
This book wasn’t worth the nominal purchase price. I started it, didn’t like the characters or the plot. I didn’t finish it and deleted if from my Kindle and my Amazon account.
Got hooked on this series and couldn’t stop till all were read. This current installment follows a similar formula to the rest in series but the occasional unpredictable element keeps me coming back
kept me on the edge of might seat, as all her books do.
