A Spark in Darkness held my attention from the first page. This book is a fictionalized version of the week leading up to the rapture. It is written in Lorana Hoopes’ vibrant style with ordinary people called to do extraordinary things. They rise to the occasion despite the personal cost and inspire others to do as God commands. The book is a reminder to Christians everywhere that they need to heed God’s instructions. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Lorana does a great job with this book about end times and the rapture. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. It really makes you think about the rapture. I enjoyed reading about angels and demons and their work in the world.
A glimpse of what the days before the rapture might look like. God’s light vs darkness. A thought provoking story for believers and non believers. If you liked the Left Behind series you will enjoy this story.
A great read for believers and non-believers alike!
As a Christian, this was fascinating to read. The possibilities of having received special gifts to help in the end times is exciting. To know for a fact you are carrying out exactly what God needs from you, although tough, would be life changing in itself!
I loved the characters they all are written with great personalities. However, some of those personalities were much more loving and kind then others.
I absolutely can not wait for the next book in this series!
I enjoy Ms. Hoopes writings but have a problem with this one. I think it gives the wrong idea about the rapture. Only God the Father knows when the rapture will happen. He doesn’t send angels to tell us or help us do what the Bible says we as Christians are to do-witnessing to the unsaved about what has happened in our own life when we accept Christ as our Savior. Yes, there are demons because this earth is Satan’s territory. There will be a rapture & it is coming soon because evil is becoming more rampant. So we must all be more aggressive in witnessing to the lost. So there is truth here but not all said is based on what I believe the Bible teaches. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
ONE EXPLOSIVE JOURNEY!!!
Outstanding! Lorana delivers one dynamic, understated and exceptional spins, unleashing it like a blazing inferno, racking up the heat and tension, carrying it forward brilliantly. Presenting impressive, well rounded scenario’s ramping up the exuberance and adrenaline with such intensity and precision, blasting this jewel to life spectacularly. A surging vortex of inconceivable intentions and staggering events, thrusts those churning emotions into play, fusing this gem together piece by piece. Toss in drama, turmoil, distress, intrigue, suspense and unexpected situations, along with a boatload of hard decisions and confusion, you have one mind-blowing experience. Stumbling through the trials and tribulations, along with a slew of shocking twists and startling turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. The characters are authentic and original with qualities and traits that transforms into unbelievable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and colorful descriptions so rich and lively, they blend and flow smoothly. Remarkable job Lorana, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
I was given an advance copy of this book for an honest review. I loved this book!! This is not your typical romance novel. This book is about the rapture & details the lives of a few people who hear voices, have visions, see light surrounding others, etc. I highly recommend that you read/listen to “A Still Small Voice” before reading this book as it will help you understand a couple of the characters a little better in this book.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Although I don’t believe in the rapture I think the best thing to do is to read the book of revelation and decide for yourself. Accept Jesus now and you will be ready no matter what happens. This book has a lot of good points and insights about Christian life, angels and demons. It also talks a lot about earthly cares and fears and the questions all of us have about the future can’t wait to read the next one.
A Spark, a Peek, a face paced suspenseful story. This story continues the story of Kat and her gift. The lights she sees and the people she needs to talk to. Jordan comes to help Kat understand and believe in her gift by sharing her own gift. The story tells according to the Bible, what will happen at the end of the earth. Whether you believe or not this book will capture your attention and give you something to think about. Would be a great book club book, many ideas to talk through.
Loved It…. Is the Rapture fact or fiction? Is it a made up myth, or a real future event yet to happen?
This book uses the lives of two main fictional characters to show the possibilities that lie ahead. Kat and Jordan are regular, ordinary women with their own stories to tell. Most people would think them crazy when they hear about the job they’ve been given and accepted. But now is not the time to worry about other people’s thoughts. Time is short and Kat and Jordan need to help as many people as possible to prepare for what’s coming.
Kat and Jordan may be fictional but they represent real life people trying to help others prepare for what very possibly might lie ahead. Yes, you will read about the unseen realm here. You’ll see angels and demons and how they work in this end time system. You’ll read about tribulation and The Tribulation. You’ll be introduced to people who are left behind, like Raven, Brian and Jason…. they were left behind but, thanks to Kat, they were able to prepare for what was to come when undeniable events began to happen. Raven remembered Kat’s warnings and went searching for answers. She needed to know what to do and what her role was in this epic battle of good and evil.
Rest assured…. you can know the outcome of this earth changing battle, ahead of time. All you have to do is read the end of The Book. So, choose wisely and you won’t be left behind.
OBSERVATIONS:
… A fictional account of what could be draws the reader into the story. But all good fiction is based on reality. And this one does not disappoint. There are a lot of What Ifs to consider. What if people around you suddenly disappear? Would you hav a clue what to do? Would you know what to expect? Would you know your life depended upon your choices? I’m talking about your eternal life, living forever and forever life…. would you be prepared to make the hard choices? Would you be able to go against the norm, and see the truth for what really is happening? It won’t be easy if you are left behind, but if you know what and how to anticipate what comes next, what will happen, won’t you be better off? As they say, knowledge is power.
… Is there a Rapture like this book suggests? My hope is yes…. but I live my life to be prepared just like Joseph prepared for those seven lean years.
… Loved the line about ‘making masterpieces out of messes’. This fictional tale of what may be realistic future events, shows what could unfold along the way. The mess will end up a masterpiece.
… It’s my thought that all the Kats and Jordans of this world one day will hear the One voice that loved us enough to sacrifice Himself when He tells them, “Well done, My good and faithful servants”.
If You Knew the Future, Would You Be Ready?
