Good read. Sometimes you don’t know what you need until it comes in your life.
This book had very complex characters. Both of our characters had personal issues that they were trying to overcome, which made them very realistic.
I gave up half way through as I just couldn’t read yet another repetition of the main characters’ inner conflicts to resolve their obvious emotional connection to each other. They had no problem with frequently acknowledging their physical attraction to each other. Not for me.

Love this kind of book.
This is the first book I have written by this author. It leads you to believe one thing that you just accept as true but then it’s not. This book is about love for a child and that must come first. Thankfully the adults realize they are running for the wrong reason. So when they finally start running to each other they realize they were both fighting a battle that neither could win alone.
Loved the story and the characters. Cute story, easy read. Had me grabbing the Kleenex box towards the very end! Highly recommend!!
Great storytelling of love found, love lost and love recaptured.
Descriptive of scenery
Easy,relaxing read
Got really involved with the stories of all the characters. Held my interest to the very end. Purchased the other books in the series because this one was so readable. This book can push the blues away. Enjoyed it lots.
Loved it ! Can’t wait to read the next one.
A SON for the TEXAS COWBOY is the first in a series about the Wolf brothers of Last Stand, Texas. The eldest brother is holding family secrets that are a burden on his soul. Seven years ago, Cruz walked out of his life without looking back. She is back in Last Stand. Can they work through the past enough to see a clear road into the future? It’s a good, fast read.
I really enjoyed this story. Was interesting finding out who Diego’s dad was. Interesting tidbits about the other brother’s stories. I struggles with how tenaciously they held on to their mistaken ideas.
“A Son for the Texas Cowboy” by Sinclair Jayne is book one of her Texas Wolf Brothers series. It is also part of the Last Stand Texas multi-author miniseries.
Axel Wolf, pro bull rider, thought everything was going his way. He was joining the American Extreme Bull Riders tour and about to propose to his girl, Cruz Lopez. Then, Cruz leaves him and he has to return home to Last Stand amidst tragedy and to raise his brother.
Back then, Cruz wanted to be a doctor, but now, seven years later, she’s moving to Last Stand for a temporary job at the hospital along with her son, Diego. She foolishly believes she won’t run into Axel, but coming upon an accident when she arrives, he’s one of the first people she sees.
Axel is protective of the people he loves and gives them what they need while putting himself last.
Cruz is independent and needs to put Diego before the desire of her heart.
Axel and Cruz are better together than apart, it just takes them a while to find their way there.
“A Son for the Texas Cowboy” is chock full of sexual tension and the characters richly written. Not only is there a reference to previous titles in the Last Stand series, Ms. Jayne cleverly gives a shout-out to one of her own books in the America Extreme Bull Riders Tour miniseries.
You’ll fall in love with Axel Wolf and Cruz Lopez. Axel is a full on cowboy who has fallen for a hardworking girl who cares about taking care of others. Cruz Lopez wants to become a doctor. Both Axel and Cruz met in the circuit of riding, roping and barrel racing. They fell in love but life split them into different areas. After 7 years Cruz comes back to Texas with some friends to intern at a hospital and ends back up in Axel’s life. This is a sweet second chance at romance story. True love prevails!
3.5 Stars!
The combination of former lovers, ranching, and a determined grade school child, creates “A Son for the Texas Cowboy” by Sinclair Jayne. A surprising beginning draws the reader into this complicated romance, with characters that are interesting, caring and distinctive. This is the first book from the author’s brand new series The Texas Wolf Brothers, and it can be read as a standalone.
