Steamy scenes were steamy, but the plot and ending left a lot to be desired.
I enjoyed reading this book by Em Brown. The ending was somewhat abrupt, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Liked the premise – love time travel, history, and romance. I didn’t finish the book. Found it trashy.
This book ended abruptly with no satisfying ending. It just fell flat.
Fun light read based around the attraction the two leads have for each other. It was nice seeing some growth between the main characters.
Too many sex bordering on pornagraphic, no plot, not sufficient development of characters.
I love Em Brown’s work and normally give her five stars, but this story ended so abruptly that I actually went back online to see if there was another, longer version of the work or if it were part of a multi-volume set. Neither appears to be the case, but she left a *lot* of unresolved storylines. The plot and central characters were interesting and the sex is wonderfully steamy, so I bope that Ms. Brown will provide a true resolution of this story either through expansion of this work or by creating a concluding volume.
Pauline is supposed to do a striptease as part of a stag party after a reenactment at Brandywine battlefield, but she falls, knocking herself out. When she wakes up she’s determined the show must go on, not realizing she’s in a real encampment in 1777. This was a bit funny.
She lets a bit of her knowledge as history major slip out and thus is suspected of being a spy and traitor. Handsome Capt. Bradford is to interrogate her and get her confession for trial, which would lead to her execution. But who “tortures” whom?
The ending is a bit abrupt, but by no means is it a cliffhanger. The entire story transpires over only a few days. The reader does not learn if she gets back to her time, however, the story’s conflict is resolved. A very entertainng read I could not put down.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Not my cup of tea.
Loved it! I’m a big fan of time travel romance and this was a fun take on the genre.
Not impressed with this book. Almost couldn’t finish it. Barely any plot, merely jumped from scene to scene of the “heroine” so horny she had to satisfy herself. Pretty much all about a modern girl showing how very little morals are left nowadays. Steamy is not even a good word to describe the scenes. The ending was extremely abrupt and incomplete.
Just ugh. No.
Em Brown is an amazing writer and I loved how she wove her characters this time… Pauline was just out of this world. This being her first time travel book, I really enjoyed it. I’m not a big fan of time travel but she just made me a believer. I’d give her a 5 star rating any day….
