Viv’s books are awesome, so go and one-click this baby! <3
Great steamy series.
Brooke and Mack were a wonderful! A couple who are dating, not newly, not long time, but ready to move to the next phase of their relationship. They were fun, they were sexy, and the attraction and affection between them was so evident. Real life people, having a relationship with real life interruptions and pressures, but through it all, committed to each other, and making the best of everything!
I just love this sweet holiday story by Vivian Arend. I was lucky enough to narrate it a couple of months ago, but every once in a while, the characters still pop into my mind and make me smile. This is a sweet book, perfect for the holidays.
Just right for a light read!
This was a nostalgic read. It brought up the old tyme Christmas ideals which we forget about these days. It reminds us that it’s not about the gift, but the sentiment behind the gift. I loved seeing unrelated multiple generations spending the season together and the memories it evoked for each of them.
My only complaint was how slow the love story moved. Brooke and Mack kept getting distracted trying to set up the perfect Christmas that they lost their time together in the process. I realize that was part of the story, but I would’ve liked to see them spend more time together.
I have loved this series so far as well as the Coleman’s coming to Heart Falls and the Stones of Heart Falls. It is very family based and it’s nice to see the tie-in to the Coleman’s and the Rocky Mountain series.
This is Book 2 in the Holidays in Heart Falls series. It can be read as a standalone so if you haven’t read book 1 that’s okay. This was a very enjoyable book to read, especially if you have a lot of Christmas spirit. Brooke wants to make her dad happy when she overhears him talking about having an old-fashioned Christmas. She goes to all her friends and Mack, who thinks Brooke is hotter than the 4th of July. It shouldn’t be hard to have an old-fashioned Christmas, right? Unless it’s the one during a major storm. The heat between Mack and Brooke should be hot enough to melt all the snow but I don’t guess it works like that. I couldn’t but it down until I finished it because I had to see if they had a Christmas miracle. I highly recommend it if you like a good Christmas romance. I loved it.
The sad, nostalgic and heart-warming gamut of emotions one feels makes this book a must read.
Ms Arend is one of the very few authors whose contemporary books I always read.
I started off with PNR Granite Lakes series and have been a fan ever since.
Her books are totally readable, with great characters you want to know and even move to live near and be friends with.
I only wish I didn’t have to wait so long between books.
A wonderful Christmas themed story based around small town life. It is so nice to read a good solid story that brings warmth to your heart.
Loved the rock cookies scene, so sweet and bought back memories.
Trust, love, support and community are missing from most lives nowadays but at least I can escape into a great book like this to have those feelings.
Brooke and Mack are not an insta love couple which is a nice change from some other books. They are like so many other ordinary couples, trying to find time for the other. They have been dating for a year and both wish to move forward with their lives but are not in a financial position to do so.
I really enjoyed going along on their journey as they found the path that was right for them. Watching Mack waiting for the right moment to bring out the ring burning a hole in his pocket was fun.
Wasn’t sure if Brookes dad was gong to be a problem but it was nice how that played out.
Love Hannah and Brads news and great to have new names and faces appearing.
This is my honest review of this book.
This wasn’t my favorite by Vivian Arend but it’s a nice, sweet (with a little bit of steam thrown in) story of two people who have been in a relationship for a couple of years and are ready for a more permanent solution. Of course, there are some difficulties and misunderstandings that have to be worked through. This is a nice Christmas story, especially if you’re in the mood for a “traditional” Christmas.
All books from this author is speaking to my soul and my heart, they are filled with feelings. In addition the author has managed to build a world I can imagine living in. I think that’s what’s making her books so appealing to me. The community and the people is realistic and down to earth.
No unnecessary descriptions of feelings and lots of good dialogues.
Both main characters and secondary characters is made familiar with the realistic personalities created by the author.
The chemistry between the main characters is clear from the beginning and it’s nicely built up to a happy ending.
5 stars for a Christmas story that certainly can be read again.
Great couple, very supportive of one another yet realistic insecure about their feelings. It’s a fun read especially the many twist & turns that popped up in his plans for privacy. I like that they are mature & have an established relationship, they are very well-matched in character and personality. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mack is every woman’s ideal man; he is considerate, patient and adores Brooke and all her quirks. But even a patient man has his limits, and after a year of tap-dancing around their budding relationship, Mack is ready to commit for life. He just has to get Brooke alone long enough to make his move.
Brooke for her part, knows Mack is her forever partner. Strong, capable and sex on legs, he aspires to be the very best he can, while ensuring that others are respected and cared for. So why can’t she get those three little words to pass her lips. They’re perched right there on the tip of her tongue, but the time just never seems to be right.
I personally think A Soldier’s Christmas Wish is best described as a treasure. Heartfelt and engaging, but most of all, so very romantic. Mack and Brooke have nurtured their relationship; while avoiding rash decisions or think about the consequences later moments, even if that has been due to circumstances beyond their control. The story flows perfectly, with a believable progression to a romance that leads to the final declaration of love.
And naturally there needs to be just a little angst in the form of a cantankerous father who likes to leave Mack wondering what he’s done to earn his wrath. All will be revealed as this captivating couple navigate the ups and downs of finding forever and learning that what goes unspoken is often what means the most.
Thank you, Ms Arend, for yet another fabulous story and characters that warm the depths of a reader’s soul.
