Snowbound by a blizzard, these exes have a spark hot enough to burn… In this Dallas Billionaires Club novel by Jessica Lemmon. Trapped with an old flame in a Montana snowstorm… There’s plenty of ways to keep warm… If Texas politician and oil tycoon Chase Ferguson has one regret, it’s choosing to leave his former lover, Miriam Andrix, to shield her from his public life. But even … lover, Miriam Andrix, to shield her from his public life. But even after ten years of moving on, their old love affair has kicked up the media’s interest, now that he’s running for re-election. He owes her the courtesy of a warning, right? Since he’s on her home turf in Big Fork, Montana. What could possibly go wrong?
Miriam arrived at Chase’s vacation mansion to say hello, not to rehash the past or get burned by the heat that still sparks between them. But then a snowstorm strands them together in said mansion, and somehow she’s agreeing to a snowbound fling. But when the media spotlight bursts their blizzard bubble, a replay of their former heartbreak seems inevitable. Will she and Chase fight for what they truly want this time, or will what happened in the storm stay in the storm?

“‘Those snowflakes are the sand in our hourglass. Eventually, they’ll stop falling and then our time will be up.'”
Who’d have thought a snowstorm and being snowed in would be a good thing? Especially between two people who are obviously still hung up on each other? Well, Jessica Lemmon did, and I totally agree. This is a wonderful, heartwarming, second chance story.
“How could a man’s hand be sexy? Because it’s attached to the rest of him.”
Ever since I got a first glimpse of Chase Ferguson in the first book of this series I was left wondering what would rock his world and mess with his Mayor-of-Dallas, nothing-can-rattle-me composure. He is kind of standoffish, and seems to be a bit cold at the beginning of the book. I am so glad Miriam is able to get to him like no one else.
“Whatever it was, she’d left a mark. An indelible one.”
Miriam is a tough girl, with her own career and her own dreams and aspirations. She is stubborn, but she is also loving and kind. And yes, she still remembers Chase, but she has moved on and built a life for herself. Or maybe…
“Beyond attraction, his pull was more like gravity.”
So Chase and Miriam met ten years ago during Summer in Montana and they had a Summer love of sorts. Everything was perfect. She didn’t know who he was or what his aspirations were, and he wasn’t thinking about it either. However, once reality sank in in his home state of Dallas, Miriam was sent home alone and heartbroken.
At first sight, they’re nothing alike. The way they try to have something in common, the fact that his family owns an oil company and she’s an environmentalist, understanding Chase sent her home for the right reasons but maybe he should just have asked her before… this all weighed on my heart a bit. The flashbacks of what once was were sweet and heartbreaking as well.
“Nothing mattered—not the past or the future—apart from the woman in his arms.”
Chase and Miriam can avoid the past, walks down memory lane, and the ‘what ifs’, but they had it all once, and revisiting the past proves to be just the thing that kickstarts their future into their happily ever after.
I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the story line and How Chase & Miriam relationship evolved I always like to read about 2nd chances. I recommend this book and author!
Since Jessica Lemmon has written two of my favorite books I was overjoyed to be offered an ARC of her new project, A Snowbound Scandal. It will be available via bookselling locations on August 1st. As I enjoy Ms. Lemmon’s writing I wasted no time diving into this new romance. I’m giving you my personal reflections to hopefully give you a heads up. Summertime is drawing to a close and we need to make the most of our last, for awhile, vacay time.
In my humble opinion you can’t go wrong with this book. Ms. Lemmon knows how to write a jerk character, troubled relationships and difficult happy ever afters. Our hero (?) Chase Ferguson happens to be the current Mayor of Dallas, TX and an heir to the Ferguson Oil Corporation. 10 Years ago, during a romantic summer holiday, Chase met Miriam (Mimi) Andrix and it was love at first sight on the beach. Summer lovin’ leads to a trip to meet his parents (yep, it’s that bad). 10 years later Chase takes a Thanksgiving holiday break back to the scene of the epic love affair. Running into Mimi was an accident, wasn’t it? They reconnect during a blizzard and it gets pretty hot, no frostbite here. But all the old problems still exist.
Ms. Lemmon has written a story of first love gone wrong, second chances, snowed in sex (what else is there to do?), fear and compromise. As I always say, a happy ever after is a given, it’s the journey that counts. You’ll have to get the book to read for yourself the twist in our story ending. It’s pretty darn good if I do say so myself.
Reunited … and forced to straighten out the past! With the next book in the Dallas Billionaire’s Club series, we get Chase’s story. He’s living the powerful life he was born to lead, but he’s missing the person that brought a part of him to life that he’s never experienced again. When circumstances bring him face to face with Mimi again, he can’t let the opportunity pass him by! The story was fast paced and attention grabbing, with a couple I was rooting for from the beginning!
Dallas mayor Chase Ferguson has one regret in life, and that’s pushing the woman that he loved away. He knew she wasn’t cut out for the political life that he was heading into, so he sacrificed their love to set her free.
Miriam Andrix has never forgiven Chase for the ruthless way she perceived him dumping her without a second thought. Now she’s suddenly standing stranded in a snowstorm with nowhere to go but into his house. It doesn’t take long for the passion between them to flare again, but with the history they share, will they ever be able to make a relationship work again?
Loved this emotionally thrilling, sweetly sexy and highly entertaining second chance romance. Could not put this book down from page one to the end..
Chase Ferguson and Miriam Andrix are trapped by a snowstorm in his mountain house getting a second chance to say all the things they didn’t before… Highly enjoyed this engaging and relaxing escape from the every day…..
In general the Desire line is moving to more complex stories with secondary storylines and well-developed supporting characters. Jessica Lemmon’s latest A Snowbound Scandal is none of these, so it stands out from the others. Lemmon crafts a true snowed-in story and the majority of the book is just the hero and heroine. This focus gives the reader a chance to get to know these characters even more deeply. Because of this hyper focused, the end felt a little rushed. I love both sides of Desire and can’t wait for more.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
4.5 Stars
A Snowbound Scandal by Jessica Lemmon is book Two in the Dallas Billionaires Club Series. This is the story of Chase Ferguson and Miriam ‘Mimi’ Andrix. I have read the previous book and feel this can be a standalone book.
Chase and Mimi had a hot, heavy and quick love affair, but Chase made the decision to step away to protect Mimi to protect her. But now all these years later they meet again with the same hot feelings. But will Chase choose her this time and can they work through their doubts.
Overall enjoyed this book and will look for more books from this author.
I’m a fan of second chance romances and snowed in/forced isolation tropes. So when I read the synopsis of A Snowbound Scandal, I knew I had to read it.
I thoroughly enjoyed Chase and Miriam’s story. From their whirlwind romance that they wrote off as young love to a holiday blizzard that rekindled their passion, it’s a sexy and delightful read that will have you rooting for these two to work it out.
I enjoyed reading A Snowbound Scandal by Jessica Lemmon, book two of her Dallas Billionaires Club series. We have Chase Ferguson the Texas Billionaire who was also the Mayor of Dallas. His greatest regret was leaving Miriam Andrix to protect her from his public life ten years ago after spending the summer in Montana. That summer in Montana stayed with him and made such a huge impression on him that he ended up buying a lakeside mansion where he and Miriam had experienced some fun times. It’s now his vacation home, and he’s come for a solo Thanksgiving holiday. A chance encounter with Miriam ends up with her at his home, Thanksgiving dinner in tow as well as a blizzard that ends up trapping them. This time together gives them a chance to talk about what went wrong, and spend time having steamy, no strings attached sex, with both of them knowing that it can’t lead to anything more. Of course that’s easier said than done, especially when Chase’s opposition finds them together, hoping to use it to ruin him. Chase wants to protect Miriam, even if it means keeping her away from him in order for her to be safe. They have to decide whether being together is worth the risk and fortunately they make the choices that lead to a happy ending.
Ms. Lemmon wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is not to be missed. She drew me into the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series which features Chases’s sister Stef’s book as she has a decidedly antagonistic relationship with his best friend and company security officer Emmett that is sure to make for a fun read!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Chase and Mimi were young and in love, but Chase decided to spare Mimi a life in the spotlight, under a microscope and sent her back home on a plane to Montana. Fast forward ten years and Chase decides to get away from his political career and leave his job of mayor for the Thanksgiving holiday, off to Montana he flies leaving a potential mudslinging campaign locked away in his desk in Texas. What he doesn’t expect is to come face to face with his old flame, the one who happened to be the subject of a photograph, one threatening his political career. Mimi wants nothing to do with Chase, he broke her heart but she couldn’t let the opportunity of a chance meeting go to waste, that’s how they ended snowbound together, can they mend the past, do they want too? Will a scandal rear it’s ugly head?
I haven’t read a Harlequin Desire in a while and had forgotten how much I enjoyed them. I thought this was a nice, easy to read Second Chance romance with likeable characters.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.
This was a fun second chance romance involving the Mayor Dallas and an environmentalist from Montana. Ten years ago they had a wild summer in Montana and fell in love and when Mimi followed Chase back to Dallas he realized immediately that was not the place for her and she would never be happy there and sent her packing back to Montana…all for her…and he would make the sacrifice to keep her happy. Ten years later a picture crosses his desk of her at a protest rally and may be used against him in his reelection. Oh the memories this brings back! Not only that but it is Thanksgiving and Chase is off by himself to his mansion in Montana and after a chance meeting outside Whole Foods Mimi finds out Chase is there and alone. She cannot get him out of her mind and since he refuses to come to dinner, she takes dinner to him, and, of course, a blizzard is happening and she is stranded for the holiday weekend. All the feels this inspired being stranded and ultimately seduced had me flipping pages so fast I’m surprised my kindle survived it. These two are perfect together but will they survive the end of the weekend. Definitely recommend this one! Oh, not sure how I missed the book before this one but going to have to find it and there is one coming up. This can be read as a standalone.
I honestly think this is one of the more difficult books I’ve tried to review. I’m just all over the place with this story. There were things I loved and things I liked and things I didn’t like so much. Good news, there were no things I hated. But this wasn’t a smooth read for me.
Chase and Mimi are fantastic characters and actually have great chemistry. The concept of them being snowed in together, and the way in which it happened, is great. Since we get both of their viewpoints, from the beginning I didn’t blame either character for what happened between them in the past. The sexual tension they have when first trapped together is riveting and I couldn’t wait to read what would happen next.
Then what happened next happened and the story started to drag for me. I guess when there wasn’t really any conflict and seemingly no end to their curtain situation the story just stalled out. Once the snow stopped and the plows got out to start doing their thing, the story picked back up again.
I absolutely flew through the last 20% or so of this story. It was engaging and wonderfully written. It also gave me all the feels. Just goosebump inducing, heart-swelling greatness. So you see, really hard for me to decide on a rating for this one.
I also want to mention that I love Chase’s little sister and his bodyguard/best friend and would love to read that story. I kept hoping to see more of them throughout this book. I also wonder what already happened in their pasts since (once again) I ended up reading a book that is not book 1 in its series. Although I don’t believe that hurt any in this story, I could tell the sister/best friend thing also ran through the first book.

Wonderfully sweet and intensely passionate!
Chase and Mimi had a memorable summer together ten years before, but he left her to protect her from the sleazier side of his chosen career – politics. Chase is the head of his family’s oil business in Dallas, and Mimi is an outspoken crusader to protect the environment against oil companies.
With his mayoral reelection campaign kicking into high gear, it might not be the best time to return to that picturesque mansion in Montana where they shared so much of themselves. But of course he does, and reconnects with Mimi just in time for a blizzard to trap them there long enough to set their hearts on fire again.
These two are soulmates right from the start; the only problem is figuring out the logistics. I really enjoyed their romance. The forced proximity is a delightful trope, and it was executed beautifully here. Their HEA was an epic showstopper – exactly what you’d expect from someone in Chase’s position. I loved how their more experienced and mature selves chose to face the conflicts head on, and work together to overcome every obstacle. So much love in this book; so much to love about it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through NetGalley.
Second chance romance during a snow storm. This was a nice quick read. I enjoyed the concept, however, I would have like a little something more from the characters. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wow, an awesome contemporary second chance romance. Chase and Miriam met and fell in love the years prior to meeting again. Chase is the mayor of Dallas Texas and Miriam’s life has been in Montana. Unfortunately, someone found out about their past and present and is out to destroy them both. The author did a fantastic job of developing the characters so that you want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens. I received a complementary copy via Net Galley and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Lemmon.
You can’t go back, you can only move forward. That’s a mantra we all live by, in life and in love. Regrets. We all have them. A constant reminder of where we’ve been and where we’re going. They help us become who we are. However, there are moments that become exceptions. What happens when your greatest regret becomes the link to your present happiness?
Jessica Lemmon takes a walk down memory lane with Chase and Miriam. They once had it all, until it all became too much. Can a chance encounter with the past guide them toward a future together? A Snowbound Scandal brings Christmas a few months early. The perfect gift all year round. A passionate tale of love lost and found.
This is such a simply heartwarming story. I really love that the author did not have to complicate the plot to make it exciting. It hit all the high notes, young love, separation, second chance to get it right, and happily ever after. I adore the little I saw of Stephanie and Emmett and can’t wait for their story.
Miriam Andrix was an environmentalist. She believed in taking care of earth and telling big oil to stop polluting. Little did she know that the man she fell in love with is none other than Chase Ferguson, oldest child of oil magnate company, Ferguson Oil. Bowing to pressure, he believed they couldn’t exist in each other’s world. Now 10 years later he is in her home town. Will they be able to be decent each other? They are older and wiser, yet they still manage to get under each other’s skin. When all is said and done, can Chase go back to Dallas and be mayor and can Mimi stay on Bigfort, MT and be an environmentalist? Love, love the ending. I couldn’t put this book down!
Christmas in July? No thanks, I’ll take Thanksgiving in August with Jessica Lemmon’s A Snowbound Scandal! Cool off and heat up with this second chance meets forced proximity installment in the Dallas Billionaire’s Club. Chase and Mimi start off frosty as they reunite at Thanksgiving but a blizzard has them, and Readers, warming up quickly. Chase was intriguing in Zach and Pen’s story so I knew his story would be just as great, and it did not disappoint. I loved that Mimi wasn’t afraid to confront her feelings and Chase. Now we just need to get Stephanie settled down!
