Jonas Schwartz isn’t just good at playing football.
He’s also good at playing hearts, and four years ago, he played mine like it was the easiest game of his life.
Brokenhearted, I ran off to art school, swearing to forget about my one-off secret weekend with the star quarterback.
I’d heard whispers about his injury, but I never expected Jonas to return to our hometown to rehab his knee, and I … to rehab his knee, and I certainly never thought he’d show up on the other side of my door with a pizza in hand.
He looks good. Better than before.
Whatever–I’m over him. I’ve completely moved on.
I just wish my heart would get the memo…
This novella was previously included in the Team Player 2 Anthology. It has been updated to include new chapters and an epilogue.

4.5 Slices Stars!!
Being a fan of the Slice Series I could not contain my excitement for A Slice of Love! I was so dang happy to jump into this story! I had to pick it up right away and I finished reading it in one sitting. This was just the read I needed and I loved it!
From the moments that wrapped around my heart to the ones that made me laugh, and all the things in between, Jonas and Frankie’s journey was quite the memorable one! I felt every bit of their emotions and I couldn’t get enough of their connection!
With A Slice of Love, Ms.Hunter has once again created such a fantastic read that had me feeling it ALL! This story was a day brightener for sure and it left me smiling long after I reached the end. I can’t wait for Cheesy on the Eyes!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
This book was released as a Part of the Team Player 2 book before, but got some extras and an epilogue now. This is a quick and cute 2nd chance story full of anger, hurt, love, forgiveness and chemistry about Frankie & Jonas. They met in high school and fell for each other, but not everyone was on board with this. So they haven’t seen each other for 4 years. Can they leave the past in the past?
Kindly received an arc from the author and voluntarily left a review 4,5
Loved this book! When I read this when it first came out in the Team Player 2 Anthology, I was so excited that it was going to be extended and released again on it’s own. Jonas and Frankie’s story starts off in high school and after a misunderstanding, they lose touch. A few years later, they’re both back in their home town. Jonas has never stopped thinking about her. He doesn’t want to leave their relationship the way he left it. He’ll do anything to get back on Frankie’s good graces. Even if he has to deliver her pizza himself. This is a great second change story with Teagan’s usual banter and wittiness. A great read!
A Slice of Love was an ultra quick read. Jonas and Frankie deserve their happily ever after but nothing I’d as easy as it should be. Can these two learn to forgive each other and move on? If you’re looking for a quick and delightful story this is it! It’s a slice of cheesy goodness… just how I like it!
Teagan Hunter always hits the story just perfectly. It might be short and sweet but it packs a punch. Hunter brings her normal wit and charm to the short story while still making it feel complete. I don’t usually love novellas. Generally, they aren’t developed deeply enough but besides Frankie having some maturity issues. I dont know, she wasn’t quite what I expected but Jonas sure picks up where Frankie is lacking
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
A Slice of Love is a short, sweet, sexy and fun novella. You get pulled in from the beginning with the love of Frankie and Jonas! Jonas has a thing for Frankie from day one, but knows she’s off limits. Frankie also has the hots for Jonas, but why would he be interested in her? They become friends, but then life happens. They both long for a second chance, although Frankie says she still hates Jonas.
A Slice of Love is beautifully written with a heart warming effect on you. Life isn’t always easy, but you do what you have to. I love how sassy Frankie is! She’s kind of my spirit animal. Jonas loves with his whole heart and sometime’s that’s all you need.
A Slice of Love is a second chance romcom with a super sweet and swoony story. Frankie and Jonas are so adorable. Their banter kept me giggling, and in a time like this it was a welcome distraction. These two are the perfect couple. There are swoony parts and steamy parts and those parts that make you crack up. You go through so many feels. Another great book by Teagan.
5 Star review A Slice Of Love (Slice #4) by Teagan Hunter
The fourth book in the series and was an entertaining read. This is a second chance at love story which ticked the boxes for me.
This is Jonas Schwartz and Frankie (Frank) Callahan’s story and I was captivated from the first to the last chapter. Although a quick read I quickly became invested in the story that Ms.Hunter wove and was disappointed when it ended.
Jonas ticked all the boxes for me, he is totally swoon worthy and Frank was sassy, feisty and such an awesome character that I loved her. Emotional at times, there was also humour and a whole lot of fun. I loved the notebooks, this was just an added bonus that really brought another layer to the story.
A book that has it all, it’s funny, sweet, romantic, spicy and a tale of love. Ms. Hunter wove a story that ensured I didn’t want to put it down.
I wasn’t sure how I was gonna feel about another series from Teagan Hunter after the Text series, but I have to say that she definitely upped the game with the Slice series, because I eagerly devour each book as soon as it hits my e-reader. I love a good second chance at love story and that’s what we get with Jonas and Frankie. They are the epitome of opposites attract, but they’re sooooooooo cute together! The friendship between them is real (for fictional characters), the banter is classic Teagan Hunter funny, and the chemistry between Jonas and Frankie is sweet and sexy. Not an exceptionally read, but it’s still enough to give you the full romance experience without sacrificing any story quality.
4.5 Stars for A Slice of Love book 4 in the Slice Series.
A slice of Love is one of those books that draws you in and entertains you from the first page to the last line . It’s a second chance romance that’s sweet, romantic, passionate and very witty with characters you will adore.
Jonas Schwartz walked away from Frankie (Frank) Callahan in high school and when a chance meeting over a pizza delivery has them not only instantly recognising each other but also stirring up feelings from the past they both know they need to take this second chance even if they have regrets from the past…..
This maybe a novella but it still packs a mighty punch, it still has depth and it has characters you will adore. This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed at the humour and I sighed and swooned as this couple realised they still had feelings for each other. If you love swoon worthy hero’s and sassy heroine’s this gem will be a perfect read.
This was A Slice of Cuteness! I so wish this was a whole 300-page book because Frankie and Jonas were just something else. This second chance novella will have you laughing and feeling emotional. Two classmates are secret friends/pen pals and have one amazing night and 4 years later they finally talk about what happened the day after that night. Trust me what happen will make your head spin.
I loved the notebook idea between them, I did this in high school with my friends.
If you love the Slice series you need to read this. These characters are not related but a few past characters make small appearances.
I love this one! Frankie and Jonas are great characters. Their chemistry is off the charts and their history is the sweetest. Julian was an amazing character and I love Jonas’s family!! I loved this story in the Team Player 2 anthology, and this version gives us even more Fronas (ok so that’s not a good couple name, nvm) with extra chapters and an epilogue. And while this book is set in the world of the author’s Slice series, it is a total standalone. Beyond the pizza restaurant, there is no crossover.
Jonas Schwartz is the football star of the school and Frankie is the good girl who is forbidden because of who her parents are. They have a crush on each other from the very start. But it’s not till senior year they actually communicate. They both fall or that’s what Frankie thinks. Untill it all falls apart and her heart is broken. She goes off to college. It’s been 4 yrs. The last person she expects to see when she orders a pizza is Jonas at her front door. Then their journey begins of trying to forgive, love and understand. Beautiful novella. I loved Julius and hope to see his story soon. Definitely recommend.
I received a Advanced Readers Copy and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
Second Chance | Sports Romance
A Slice of Love by Teagan Hunter is a second chance, sports romance. This novella was previously published in the Team Player 2 anthology but has recently adapted into a novella which added new chapters and an epilogue. I myself never read the Team Player anthology so I can’t say what differences appear between the two, but I can say that I really enjoyed this one. Jonas and Frankie were adorable together! Teagan Hunter COULD have made this an angsty second chance romance but instead opted for a lighter, comedic read. I’m so glad for this because I’ve been reading so many angsty books that I needed something lighter and less dramatic.
I read A Slice of Love in one sitting. As I mentioned, it’s novella length but that doesn’t stop the author from making the story feel complete despite the length. Normally I don’t care for novellas because I don’t see enough character development but in all honesty I did here. I never felt like it was too fast or too underdeveloped. It felt just right!
If you’re looking for a sweet, funny, and charming read then you won’t want to miss A Slice of Love. This book fits in well with the other books in the Slice series but CAN stand alone. The focus of this story is only on these two and not the secondary characters from the series.
Teagan knows how to bring the laughs while also give us the feels as she weaves her story around you. A Slice of Love is no exception. I read it in one sitting and it was a welcome reprieve to the quarantine life. Each couple makes me love Teagan Hunter’s writing more and more. If you need the feels and a laugh then this is the book for you!
I absolutely adore Teagan Hunter, and this book was exactly what I needed to cure me of my book slump! It has all the pizza, swoon and romance, and honestly that’s all a girl could want!
If you’ve read the Team Player 2 anthology, then you have met Frankie and Jonas when that was released. This is a bit more expanded novella, and I loved every minute of it!
Nobody does banter quite like this amazing author, and I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time I was reading.
Frankie and Jonas were involved when they were in high school, but were torn apart very abruptly and painfully. When Jonas moves back to his home town and sees Frankie, he immediately wants to reconnect and never again let her go. But can they move on from the past and create something truly beautiful? Or will the doubt be too much for Frankie?
Gah, I loved these two so much! This is a quick read that had me laughing and swooning throughout the entire book. Jonas is definitely one of my favorite heroes this author has created! Make sure you one click!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Can a school crush become the ‘real thing?’
Frankie Callahan had a huge crush on a star quarterback Jonas Schwartz all through high school. Jonas felt the same way, but it’s only in senior year that he actually has the chance to be with her. Frankie was a ‘no-touch’ girl as her father was the town pastor and her mom the high school principal. Jonas kept his feelings under wraps until they’re alone one weekend.
Frankie is over-joyed when she finally gets the opportunity to show Jonas how she feels about him. Things go awry shortly afterward and Jonas is forced to do something he never wanted to do.
Four years later, Jonas is injured, his newly started NFL career on hold and is a delivery boy.
Frankie never thought she’d see Jonas again, certainly not with a pizza pie in hand. She’s mad as hell at him but all Jonas wants is a second chance.
This was a sexy second chance romance. It had a few bumps along the way to the finish. I really enjoyed how Ms. Hunter pulled it all together in such a short story.
Gahhhh! Frankie & Jonas were such an sweet, snarky, amazing second chance romance! I loved getting to see their backstory and how they’re willing to fight for each other! A great little “slice” of Teagan’s series!
4 stars
Everything Teagan Hunter writes is aces in my book and this novella didn’t disappoint!
A Slice of Love is a second chance, sports romance that fits loosely into Hunter’s pizza series but stands entirely alone. They met in high school, fell in love without even realizing it and then let circumstances break them apart. When they both return to their small hometown, Frankie is reluctant to give the star quarterback a chance for fear he’ll run away with her heart again. What she doesn’t know is he never wanted to run away in the first place.
Jonas and Frankie were two adorable, mixed up twenty somethings who finally realized they messed up when they were younger by listening to others instead of their hearts. Julian was the best best friend ever and I hope we see more of him!! Teagan Hunter creates people I genuinely want to be friends with! Another great read from one of my go-to fave authors!
Jonas and Frankie knew each other in high school. Frankie had the double whammy of being both the pastor’s daughter, as well as the principal’s. She was pretty off limits to everyone. But Jonas had it bad for her. Something went down between them and it’s been years since they’ve seen each other, but Jonas has never forgotten about Frankie.
After college and an injury that has threatened his NFL career, Jonas is home getting PT and he runs into Frankie. The spark that was always between them is still there, but Jonas has a lot of explaining to do…. I loved these two together. I especially loved how they both carried that torch for each other for all those years.
Teagan Hunter always makes me laugh with her stories. This was no exception. It was funny, heartfelt, and so sweet!
When they were in high school Jonas was attracted to Frankie but he was the star quarterback with a reputation while she is not only the Principal’s daughter but her father was a Pastor as well. When they find themselves assigned for a class project together they become more than friends but not everyone is happy they are together.
Four years later Frankie has returned to her hometown after finishing college when who should be delivering her pizza but Jonas who is back in town recovering from an injury. The chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever but will they be able to work through the misunderstandings of the past and have their second chance or are they destined for heartbreak once again?
This is a fun and flirty story about two people whose love for each other endured until it was finally their time.
