Creativity is a trait that continues to draw me to author, Samantha Chase. Never has her understanding of the heart been more obvious than Owen Shaughnessy. I knew A Sky Full of Stars would be special and Ms. Chase did not disappoint. In Owen she dreamed up a unique hero that is as clueless as he is unforgettable. He’s book smart but emotionally he’s like a baby bird learning to spread his wings. He feels deeply, yet doesn’t fully ascertain how to express what he feels. In Brooke, he finds his total opposite, but he also learns to not overthink life, LIVE IT. In no way should this couple work but they do. They bring out the best in each other as each learns how to be true themselves.
A fantastic story that touched every corner of my heart. It was so exciting to see Owen Shaughnessy shed his nerdy shell and become the man he was always meant to be. Owen has dated before but never has he known a woman who understands him the way the feisty free spirited Brooke Mathews does. He will never be able to thank his mentor and Brooke’s uncle enough for introducing him.
This is one of the best opposites attract stories I’ve read. Owen is serious, lacks social skills, and feels a little lost in world. Brooke is artistic, outgoing, and appears confident and strong. Together they are explosive. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Wow! Powerful, tender – an amazing story.
Owen is my new favorite Shaughnessy brother. I love that he is shy, vulnerable and uncertain with himself and fully aware of his shortcomings. Brooke, the former beauty queen and niece of Owen’s mentor and friend, to his surprise becomes his girlfriend. While building their relationship Owen and After some guidance and words of wisdom from family members, Owen and Brooke realize what they need to do to move forward and be together. Their journeys go deep and touch your soul. Every time that I think of Superman/Clark Kent, I will also think of Owen – love him!
An absolute must read! (You would get a better understanding of the Shaughnessy family if you read the books that precend this but, you will still get an intense experience with this book as a standalone.)
Scientist Owen, always thought he was different from his brothers. Everyone sees him as this super smart, shy, sweet, introverted guy.
Owen meets Brooke, the niece of his mentor and friend.
They have an instant attraction towards each other.
Owen can’t believe, such a beautiful carefree woman would be interested in him.
A Book Full of Romance and Family. Instant re-read for me!
I love the Shaughnessy series and this is one of the best of that. Ms. Chase has written a book that both stands alone and furthers the series. If you haven’t read any in the series, you can start here … but WARNING! You’ll want to then read all of them!
The main characters, Owen and Brooke, both have challenges to overcome. Owen is fighting the self imposed limitations he’s put on himself and Brooke is wrestling with her future. The story weaves in scenes with favorite characters from other books in the series, Owen’s siblings, and introduces the reader to the world of astrophysics.
This book is a romance about family. This book was an emotional trip that was romantic, sweet, real, and fun.
I own this book and you should too! Download now …. you’ll be happy you did
Loved it!
If it’s one thing I have learned since hopping on the Samantha Chase train is that this woman can wrote feel good romance like a champ! Every book has me smiling ridiculously wide and my heart is always full!
The journey of Owen Shaughnessy and Brooke Matthews was the thing dreams are made of . Polar opposites to the naked eye, but under the surface, both had layers that drew them together perfectly. Brooke gave Owen the opportunity to really grow and own himself. He has always been protected by his siblings (since he was the ‘shy’ one) however his attraction to Brooke forced him to have the confidence he already possessed deep down inside. To push himself for love 🙂 Owen gave Brooke the push and drive she needed to see herself as more than just a pretty face. Reading their story made me unbelievably happy you guys. These characters … this whole series … is overwhelmingly poignant. It so much bigger than a romance story. It’s a story of growth and self-worth and family and love. It is really well written and very well thought out.
Grab your tissue and get ready, right from the very beginning this book was tugging at my heart strings. I was pleasantly surprised to find Owen is actually pretty romantic and smooth. I think he just needed the right women to bring it out in him. Brooke maybe just the match for him. She is actually a bit more forward or maybe confident is a better word and that seems to bring out the best in Owen. Even with all their differences, Owen being a “nerdy” scientist and Brooke being a beautiful artist, They hit it off right from the start and become fast friends. The only thing is will Owen be able to get past his social awkwardness and his own insecurities to make a relationship with Brooke work? Although this story made me cry, it definitely made my heart happy and full of joy. As always I loved seeing glimpses of the other Shaughnessy’s I have come to love. Oh and towards the end there is an amazing little surprise, I obviously loved the surprise and everything about this whole book!!
Simply put, I loved A Sky Full Of Stars. Owen in a brilliant man but clueless when it comes to social interactions. The fact that he is so smart and handsome is totally lost on him. He doesn’t realize this and that makes him even sexier. When he meets Brooke it is as if he suddenly sees the world in front of him and not just the universe above She is an artist who makes Owen see that he might be able to have more than just the stars. Together they will discover love and friendship and it is a beautiful story.
I knew Owen’s story was going to be a hard one. It’s not often that we are able to get into a shy mans head. Most books are all about the confident, cocky, alpha males. Samantha was able to capture Owen perfectly. So many emotions in this story. It started out a little slower, it didn’t completely grab me right away but then again that also goes with how Owen is. Cautious, careful. Then Brooke comes out of nowhere to turn his world upside down, in a good way! The feelings that are new to Owen, it was like he was seeing things for the first time. I loved it. Brooke had her own demons to face, pretty deep stuff. I suggest this series be read in order, even though they can all be read separately, you won’t get the full effect of how this family works without reading the others first. I can’t wait to read Darcy’s Story (Holiday Spice).
OMG!! I don’t normally cry when reading a book but this one got me! This is a beautiful story that will pull on your heartstrings! This story swept me away on a beautiful journey of love and heartbreak and then dropped me off on a cloud of happiness! Owen and Brooke’s story is heartfelt, loving and will give you a smile or two along the way!! I LOVED it!!
Loved it.
love it
I was so excited for Owen’s story and it did not disappoint!
My heart aches. The tears have left tracks down my checks. It is rare for a book to touch me this deeply. It takes an extremely talented author like Nora Roberts or Danielle Steel to do this. I laughed. I cried. I cheered Owen on! I love Owen completely! His lack of confidence, social awkwardness, & ineptness endeared his character to me. Brooke is a complete opposite of him but was perfect for him since she had already changed her personality from the mean girl she was in school. She knew how difficult it was & without knowing it, was able to guide him along his path.
The interactions between Owen & his family were enlightening. Owen & Riley always relied on each other until Riley became jealous of Owen’s growth. When Owen stood up for himself, didn’t back down & let Riley have it, I could have cheered! The Owen they knew didn’t call them on their bad manners. The interactions between Owen & his dad, Brooke & her uncle & even Owen & his mentor were tender & educational. These moments lead to more & more details of their pasts & personalities coming to the surface. The intensity of the attraction from the minute Brooke & Owen meet jumps off the page at you.
I don’t know how Samantha Chase does it. Each story builds on the feelings from the previous ones. This can be read as a stand alone since each plot ends within the book. If you start at the beginning with the first book, you get more of an understanding into the personalities. I don’t feel that my review has done this book justice but I’ve done my best. I can’t wait for Darcy’s story!
I loved this book. I couldn’t wait for it to be released. It didn’t disappoint. Such a great read.
A great way to finish the series
