Being psychic doesn’t mean private investigator Piper Ashwell has all the answers. She’s surrounded by people who either don’t believe in her abilities or want her to solve all the world’s problems. When nine-year-old Eric Danson goes missing in the middle of the night, Piper is reminded of her first case ever, when she was only twelve years old and her ability to read objects first surfaced. Now, … years old and her ability to read objects first surfaced. Now, she’s hoping to use that ability to bring the boy home unharmed.
But things only get worse when the boy who’s been bullying Eric goes missing as well. With a kidnapper on the loose, Piper will need to prove she’s the best P.I for the case. But can she find the boys before it’s too late?

This prequel was a fun, quick read! This is the first cozy I have read featuring a psychic heroine. Such a fun twist. I am planning on reading the rest of the series, and this was a great introduction.
Piper Ashwell is a wonderful character and this book will have you turning the pages!
A short story that sucks you end until you reach the end. It is interesting and entertaining. The characters are great and believable. Enjoyed it!
Piper is a psychic who works with her father who is a police detective. I like psychic characters, but Piper can see full conversations that are going on at the time. In my opinion, that is just going a bit too far. The story was alright, but a little hard to believe.
A SIGHT FOR PSYCHIC EYES by Kelly Hashway is a good start to a new series. This is a short prequel novella that introduces the main characters and gets the series off to a nice start. My 3.5 star rating is rounded up.
Piper Ashwell is a private investigator with the ability to read objects to help her on her cases. She helps her police detective father with cases on occasion. This story starts with a missing nine-year-old boy Eric Danson who disappeared from his house in the middle of the night. Did Eric wander off or was he kidnapped?
The novel pulls you in immediately and is a fast read at 62 pages. Nevertheless, it packs a punch and has a few surprises and twists woven into the story line. The reader gets a good feel for Piper’s character and her working relationship with her father and others in the local police force. The conflicts are well defined and believable. There is even a potential for a romantic interest in the future. Time will tell.
I recommend this to those that enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Fun cozy crime mystery!
A young boy is missing from his home overnight and Piper Ashwell has been brought in to help solve the case. If you are a PI, being a psychic can definitely help with cases but Piper does not always like the information that floods her head when she touches people or the items that they cherish.
Even though she has helped the Weltunkin Police Department solve numerous cases the only one who believes in her is her father, Detective Thomas Ashwell. Most of the other officers are either skeptical or contemptuous of her abilities. All except for Detective Mitchell Brennan that is. He is just plain annoying and always seems to be running into her.
The case heats up when a second boy disappears and Piper’s abilities tell her that the two incidents are related in an entirely unexpected way.
This was a fun read. The characters are likable and the plot has some good twists. I received a free copy but my review is voluntary.
I enjoyed this prequel, and I can’t wait for book 1 to release in Death and Damages! I’m eager to see what happens with Piper, her dad, and maybe…. the detective.
When the mystery was revealed, I honestly had no idea who the kidnapper was. And the biggest shocker of all, which I won’t say because I’m not giving away spoilers, left my jaw on the floor, and nearly brought me to tears. I loved this cozy mystery, and even though it’s a short story, it packs a heck of a punch. Very well done! 5 stars!
A Sight for Psychic Eyes is a quick read but a good read. This is the first book I have read from Kelly and I look forward to reading more. Being Psychic always has disbelievers and Piper has to live with their taunts but it is what it is and she always leads the police in the right direction. The story was fast paced as they race against time and is well written. It is a suspense that will have you engaged from start to finish.
