To put their plan to end up together into action Iris must go away for a while. This book takes place while she is in a drugged state that Sal puts her in so she can try to deal. It’s a strange way to bring all these characters together but somehow Kailee makes it work. Breaking up was never easy, sometimes even angels must visit their devils in hell.
“Believe. Faith. Trust. Walk your own path
A little different but still true to this authors style. All the characters we know & love from her previous books make an appearance in this book. She gave us mermaids, sexy pirates, spiders, & more. In a story following the characters from Sugargrove. I can’t wait to see if she’ll give us another Shimmering Dream!
“I am the light; he is the dark. And sometimes, even angels have to visit their devils in hell.”
Mermaids pirates and Sal oh my!!!!
A Shimmering Dream is a seductive tale that happens under the sea. Going in I knew this was going to be a hot and steamy little treat but I wasn’t expecting it to cause me to shed a few tears along the way. When it comes to a certain couple my love runs deep, which in turn, causes me to become a complete emotional mess.
“No one ever said being his girlfriend would be easy. No one said loving him would hurt so much.”
I loved how so many different characters made appearances and how more than a few parts tugged on my heart. Be sure to have an ice cold glass of water near by because a few scenes are scorching hot!! I mean panty melting hot!! As always I am left begging please, please, please I need more!!! I honestly believe everyone can enjoy this book even if you aren’t into mermaids or pirates. I can’t wait to see what is in store for next years Nocturnal Annual!
“He is my one, my only— my salvation and my damnation, my curse and my blessing— and trust is the key.”
Immersing ourselves in the lives of our favourite team, we end in up in dreamscape/LSD type trip into the wonderful and weird. Rich in language and imagination, Kailee makes a gleeful and delightfully naughty excursion into the subconscious of Iris, while she is ‘enabled’ to come to terms with her current life situation. As always, Kailee delights in these characters and provides us with a rich canvas for our own imaginations! Fabulous!!
Iris has to deal with walking away from Sal to save him. In a drug-induced haze to help give her the strength to truly walk away, she finds herself underwater, and able to breathe. In this world, she works to fight her way back to Sal, to say the proper goodbye they need, and to find the strength to do so.
So many people made an appearance in this book, either as mermaids or pirates, it was a very nice touch to have Amber grow closer to Iris. I also appreciated the pieces slipping together just a bit more in the overall arch of things. This is one of the hardest things Iris has ever had to do and yet she must because Sal has asked her to. Feeling a bit insecure with her place in his world, this goodbye, the one underwater, is the goodbye that she needs, even if she still isn’t ready for it.
This was a different write for Samuels but because it included so many characters we have grown to love, it fits in perfectly with the world of Juliet. Iris has a long road ahead, 3 long years in fact, but for her “trust is the key”. I cannot wait to find out what more is in store for not only Iris but Amber, Sal, all six of them, and everyone else not involved in this.
Love this whole series and this book is just an added bonus..a little different but clears some things up. I cant wait to find out more!!
