This is a complete adrenaline rush, romantic suspense novel!
The main characters are incredible! They are well developed and very believable. The heartache that they are each carrying is slowly built upon. We are told the bottom line of what they went through up front. Then the layers of hurt are peeled back. My heart broke for both of them.
The plot for this story is fantastic! It is filled with twists and turns as details are discovered. I was completely caught up in it and had trouble putting the book down at times. It really prompted me to wonder, “What if. . . ?”
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

“Because God knows that sometimes, after you put the pieces back together, you end up with something stronger and even more beautiful than before.”
Her life just settling into some sense of normalcy, after a long season of grief and disappointment, psychologist Grace Callahan is startled to realize that one of her clients entrusted her with hyper-sensitive information . . . . . . just before he was killed. Waking up to a stranger in the night, Grace runs for her life, wondering who in the world would want to harm her over something that she doesn’t even have in her possession.
When the police come to investigate her ties to their homicide victim Stephen Shaw, Grace is reunited with a dear friend from her past, Detective Nate Quinn, who is not about to let anyone else die on his watch. After listening to a cryptic message from the deceased, Nate reluctantly lets Grace assist in their investigation, while wondering what has happened to the friend that he thought was living an “happily ever after”.
As Nate and Grace delve into the dark side of international cyber space, where well organized hackers quietly lurk; waiting for just the right opportunity to disrupt vital national security systems, they not only have their own pasts to unravel, they must unravel the secret for which Stephen Shaw died, before it’s too late.
High suspense sprinkled with just a tease of romance!

ADRENALINE RUSH!
A Secret to Die For by Lisa Harris is a total Adrenaline Rush! Harris’ exquisite descriptions make her readers feel as though they’re a character in her story. Her writing is so vivid that you believe you are seeing, hearing and experiencing everything her characters go through. Her characters are realistic, relatable and relevant.
Psychologist Grace Callahan has been treating a client with a secret – a secret that ultimately costs his life. Detective Nate Quinn is assigned to work a homicide case and runs into his old college friend Grace. While they soon realize they are both very different people now, they still have a great connection. What will happen when they find themselves thrown together in the midst of one perilous situation after another? Can either of them decide to open the broken pieces of his/her broken heart and trust someone again? Would it be worth it? What if these are the last moments they might ever have together?
I have read many of Harris’ other books. I have enjoyed each of them for different reasons. I found A Secret to Die For to particularly be an adrenaline rush from start to finish. I was provided an ARC of this book by the Publisher and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I also have preordered a copy of this book for my own personal library.
I really love Lisa Harris and had recently finished her Nikki Boyd series so I just had to read this new one! The premise is set pretty quickly and starts out with immediate suspense, which I loved! Grace Callahan is a Psychologist who is sucked into the middle of a murder investigation in relation to a patient. The Detective working the case is her Husband’s friend from College that had lost touch over the years. It was a pretty fast-moving story that kept me guessing until the end. If you’re a fan of suspense with a little splash of romance. Great storyline and plot!
Grace Callahan wakes up to find herself caught in someone’s cross hairs, but she has no idea why. She’s a grieving mother, ex-wife, and psychologist not a conspiracy theorist, troublemaker, or law enforcement officer. Why is someone after her??
Detective Nate Quinn follows a lead on the latest homicide investigation and finds himself face to face with his former best friend’s wife, oh ex-wife. He’s wrestling with his own demons when he has to force himself to think clearly enough to keep Gracie safe.
All the puzzle pieces seem to point in different directions but what if they’re all a part of the same picture?
Harris captured my attention and kept me engaged in this story. I enjoyed following Grace and Nate as they rediscovered their friendship and fought to keep each other safe.
This is the 1st book I read by Lisa Harris. This book’s storyline was okay. Some parts of this story was sad . I liked the Christian theme in this story. I liked Grace’s character. I liked Nate’s character. The ending was okay. I felt this story was missing romance.
Lisa Harris is an excellent writer of Romantic Suspense. This book is very suspenseful and keeps you guessing until the end about who wants Grace dead. I loved both main characters, Grace and Nate. I felt Grace’s grief as I am a Mother who has lost a child so I could easily relate. If you are a fan of this genre then you will enjoy this book and I recommend it highly. I am looking forward to her next book.
I love books that are filled with intrigue and subtle clues throughout the book to solve the mystery. The author has done just that in this action packed book.
Grace is a psychologist that meets lots of different people. I always wonder if the psychologist is ever afraid of their patient. With great descriptions and an adrenaline rush this story had me on the edge of my seat. When Grace has a patient with a deep secret, what happens when that secret becomes dangerous? Can Grace outsmart who is after her?
Nathan is a welcome addition to the story and adds adventure to the story. Grace and Nathan team up to keep one step ahead of the suspect and keep both of them alive. What secret does she know that someone would kill for? I’m glad the author made Grace a strong and smart character. She is not one to give up and her determination is off the wall.
They both have something in common which brings them closer together. I think that with them both dealing with trauma it will help them keep each other safe . Grace draws on her faith and that keeps her grounded. The danger these two are put in is non stop and the race is on to see who survives. The book is well written and the mystery is so good I couldn’t stop reading.
I received an advanced copy of this book from Librarything Early readers program. The review is my own opinion.

Right from the beginning this book grabs you. Grace is at a vulnerable time as the story unfolds. Nate is also recovering from a very traumatic time in his life. Grace has come to terms with God after her tragedy. Nate is struggling with answers. The reconnect after years and its like they have never parted. The problem is neither one think they are ready to let anybody else into their lives. All that will have to go on hold as Nate tries to protect Grace from the people trying to kill her. This is an edge of your seat mystery. Ms. Harris does it again. I highly recommend this book.
