From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps. My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.I got … existence has been a lie.
I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.
Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.
She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.
Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.
And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.

I recieved this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book! It’s a hockey romance novel. This was a sweet and funny book!! I was sad when it ended.
Ryan Kingston aka King and Queenie Masterson had a one night stand weeks ago. She ended up as his generals managers daughter and assistant. She promised her dad to a strict no dating policy to the hockey players. So they started off as friends that lead to more. I love the fact the fact they were polar opposites. He was a former Boy Scout who drove like grandma and she was a whirlwind of energy. She was also struggling to get her life together. He was the balm she needed. As a couple they worked well together. The epilogue was wonderful. This is definitely a must read!!
Love this series.. great book, kept me interested all through.. love these two together.. it is so true opposite’s attract..
A Secret for a Secret
Ahh…Kingston and Queenie
King is the best boyfriend ever! He’s loyal and like a Boy Scout, he’s always prepared for anything but get that boy in bed and all the dirty comes out, no pun intended!
Queenie is a total opposite to King, nothing in life is orderly, she’s chaos. But together these two are explosive together!
I loved this story, well to be fair, I’ve loved them all but this one may have just been my favorite of the All In series.
I loved this book so much! Helena is one of my all time favorite authors and I adored this book. King was so unexpected in the best way. I LOVED Queenie. She was such a fun character. I also loved her relationship with her dad. Overall, King and Queenie were perfect and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
King and Queenie – how much cuter could that be?? A Secret for a Secret takes a closer look at Ryan Kingston, Bishop’s best friend. King is the picture of composure and control – a grown-up version of a Boy Scout. Queenie is chaos on two legs and oh, also happens to be the General Manager’s daughter who King had a one-night-stand with weeks ago.
This one was a little more on the emotional side compared to the first two books. King is dealing with some family drama…like the “you can’t make this shit up” kind. Queenie is trying to find herself and try to not be so dependent on her dad, Jake. She’s also dealing with some pretty hefty self-confidence issues. I loved Queenie and her journey to discovering herself! Watching her learn how to love herself and find what she was meant to do was heartwarming. King was a big part of helping her rediscover her passions. Their love story and HEA were beautiful and I loved every second of it…other than her a-hole ex!
But can we talk about Jake for a minute? Jake was 20 when Queenie was born and raised her as a single dad. He gave up playing hockey to take a job within the organization because that is what was better for his daughter. Relationships along the way didn’t work out for him. I CANNOT WAIT to get Jake’s story and see him get the HEA he deserves! Bring on the next book!
Helena Hunting delivers another excellent story in this third installment to her All In Series.
This story gives lets us get a real look at Ryan Kingston, the quiet, courteous goalie who resembles Captain America. The story also introduces us to an all-new heroine.
I love King and Queenie. She’s the chaos to his (boring) order. He’s the calm to her storm. Everything about their opposites-attract romance drew me in. There are the secrets these two exchange upon first meeting, and then there are the secrets that readers discover later in the story.
I also enjoyed seeing more of the bromance between Kingston and Bishop. Appearances by other series characters felt organic and not forced.
This whole book was a win
Ah King! Sweet Sweet Boy Scout King! You can be so naughty in the bedroom! This book is the perfect conclusion to the All In Series. Queenie and King have difficult pasts, but together they are better and together they eventually figure out they can take on the world! Helena Hunting has once again written a story that makes you feel all the feels! Have a glass of milk, like King, while reading this gem of a book!
Once again Helena has managed to do what she does best and created a masterpiece, a man you can’t help but fall for and a heroine you instantly love.
A Secret for a Secret is the third book in the All In series and can be read as a stand-alone but I’d recommend reading them in order to get the backstory of other character in the book.
When we were first introduced to Kingston I was intrigued. He’s kind of like Darren (from the Pucked series) in ways, he keeps himself to himself. He’s super quiet and at times quite nervous. King is loving and kind and fierce at times when it comes to those he loves. It’s been quite enjoyable reading this book and unraveling the parcel that is Kingston.
Queenie, oh this woman has been through a lot. She has mommy issues and doesn’t feel like she’s good at anything and it truly hurts to see her feel like that. We get to see just how talented this woman is throughout the book. She’s determined to be independent and not rely on anyone. She’s an intriguing character and I just love her so much.
These two together are polar opposites. He’s neat, likes everything in place and she’s not. She’s a storm, a chaotic storm and leaves everything, everywhere. But put those two together and they work. It’s so much fun to see.
Helena truly delivered on this one. King and Queenie are two characters that have embedded themselves on my heart and I’ll never forget them. They’re perfectly imperfect and it suits them so well.
I’ve been a fan of Helena’s for so long and she never ever fails to bring us a book that’ll hook us in and keep us addicted. I truly can’t wait to see what comes from her in the future.
A Secret for a Secret is a forbidden, sports romance that’s super sexy and adorable all mixed together. It’s fun, emotional and filled with flirty moments. It’s a book that you won’t want to put down until you hit the last page.
If all Boy Scouts were like this…yeah, sign me up, because I absolutely loved this milk drinking follow the rules sweetheart. And here’s why, behind closed doors…he is naughty af and I loved it so much. “I took the Boy Scout out of the polo and unleashed a very dirty man.”… #DIBS. He is hands down my favorite hockey player, I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we all love to adore him, he’s that kind of guy. So freaking sweet. Ryan aka King and his Queenie these two meet at a bar, attempting to drink their bad news away. They have a wild night together…his only one-night stand #DoubleDIBS…he’s like the mythical unicorn of hockey players, seriously though. Only to find out she’s his coaches daughter and will be working with the team now. No need to worry, he is the perfect boyfriend material, he’s got this.
Safe read, with a little ex drama from his and hers…not as cute as it sounds. These two were hot af…like wow I didn’t see that coming hot. Anytime the headboard is banging…hot af. Of course we get to read a lot of favorites from past books, which I always love and appreciate, because I love this group so much. This adorable couple has an epilogue and an equally adorable hea.
Helena Hunting can write the most deliciously-funny stories; king and queenie are completely opposite people, she a wild hurricane and he a slow river.
This story was insanely beautiful, has hot-sexy-time and awkward moments and let’s just say I’ll always smile when I see strawberries from this moment on.
Secret For A Secret is book #3 in the All In Series. I loved and enjoyed this entertaining, fun, and captivating read, that’ll get you hooked right from the start, and keep you turning the pages unstoppable.
Author Helena Hunting delivers another fabulous, great addition to this addictive series of standalones, and the fact that we get to revisit characters from previous books makes it even better, because they’re part of this amazing world she has created, and they complement the story!
Ryan Kingston is the picture perfect of the man any parent will want for their daughters. He’s successful, respectful, responsible, polite, protective, caring, and sweet. However, what people doesn’t know is that in private he goes down and dirty, and that’s exactly what happens after receiving some devastating news and heading to a bar while getting drunk in the process.
Enter Queenie, she’s everything he’s not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. While reading she seems to me as a go get it, a free-spirited woman that takes life by the reins and don’t aim to please anybody but herself, making mistakes along the way, and trying to find her place.
After meeting at the bar, getting drunk, and trading secrets, they ended up at Ryan’s place having a memorable one-night stand, but what they don’t know is that their path will cross again, since life has a way of turning things around when we least expect it.
Sorry, that’s all you get from me, because I’ll hate spoiling for you. Just go, and one-clicked this fabulous read, you know you want to.
(Review previously posted on Amazon, Goodreads, Kobo, B&N, etc.)
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
If Helena Hunting is writing a hockey romance then heck yeah I am reading it.
I am a big fan of the relationship set up where two people happen to meet, don’t really exchange full names, bear their souls and deepest secrets before having a one-night stand, fully expecting to never see the other person again.
Until they do.
That is the set up with A Secret for A Secret and it was perfect.
It was also refreshing to have a male lead that was just genuinely nice. He wasn’t nerdy or had any weird personality quirks. King was just this sweet guy – a bit of a Boy Scout as Queenie describes him- but oh how I loved that he was a bit of an alpha in the sheets!
Queenie, however, I just couldn’t jive with. I liked her as a bit of an opposite to King but otherwise I didn’t really care for her. I think it was because the overall plot line for this book didn’t grab me. I felt like it was a lot of repetition of her feeling sorry for herself that she was a bit of a basket case and hadn’t made anything of her life yet. Her secret was also a bit out there and kind of came out of left field but wow, Hunting painted quite a villain in this story. I wanted to dive into this story and rip him a new one he was such a jerk. But then again, he just sort of disappeared when I REALLY wanted King to unleash on the guy. Oh well.
Overall, a good read just not my favorite story line or my favorite of this series.
My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.
Except the night I found Queenie. This was a sweet romance with a story line that was interesting, a little predictable with likable characters although Kingston’s personality was just a little bit too sweet to the point of boring for my taste and even though the sex was hot unfortunately I just didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others.

This story was so very sweet and wonderful. I loved this whole series and definitely recommend it.
I have been waiting for Kingston’s book ever since we met him. He really piqued my curiosity with his good boy nature and his love of milk. The fact that he is a goalie is a huge bonus. He meets Queenie at a bar after learning a big family secret. A night of drinking and secret sharing leads to a one night stand that come morning leaves Kingston wanting more than just the note and panties Queenie left behind. They are complete opposites but there is still something about Queenie that has Kingston wanting to know more about her.
6 weeks later they run into each other in the one place neither expected to see the other…a team meeting with Kingston’s hockey team. Turns out that not only does Queenie now work for the team but she happens to be the GM’s daughter. These two have some big hearts and great chemistry. Even tho they should keep things professional they can’t seem to personal feelings out of the equation. Kingston helps her get to where she wants to be and become who he knows she can be.
This book has all the feelings. It has ups and downs and everything in between. It is a really hard book to put down. If you have read the Pucked Series you will love this book because you get to see Alex, Violet and their kids and catch up with them. There are 2 other books in this series that I don’t think you have to read before you read this one but I like to read them in order.
Audible Review
Overall 4 out of 5 stars
Performance 4 out of 5 stars
Story 4 out of 5 stars
My favorite of the series!
A Secret for a Secret is definitely my favorite of the All In series, it was so fun and heartfelt. King and Queenie are opposites who balanced each other so perfectly well. I really enjoyed them together.
Ryan Kingston- he’s the best of the beta book boyfriends, He’s so kind and caring towards Queenie- So.Much.Swoon. I just loved him! Although I think I’d have to do the driving, if he was mine.
I felt bad for Queenie. It’s hard for me to imagine having a mother like hers- so unsupportive and dismissive. But she has such a wonderful Dad- he’s so great, supporting and just loving her the way a father should. I’d love for Jake to get his own book! And then King comes along and treats her like a queen, ugh what a sweetie.
Even though Queenie and King both had some issues that had to be dealt with, this was definitely a low angst book. Well, for the most part- there was a point when I wanted to through my phone because of a certain ahole. But other than that, this was an easy read.
I liked seeing all the other characters from the previous 2 books make appearances, and it’s always fun when Violet’s around!
Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom were a great pairing, I enjoyed their performances. Jason actually does female voices pretty well! Stella brought the vulnerability to Queenie’s character when it was called for, very nicely done.
Queenie and Kingston I think are my favorite two out of the All In series. We have seen a bit of Kingston already, the good guy, follows the rules, drinks his milk, but now his world has been flipped upside down and he does something he never does. Queenie has been through somethings and now is taking help when she meets Kingston. These two share things with each other since they will never see each other again after the night is over. These two spend a night together, but weeks later shock hits them when the realize who each other really is. Queenie has made a promise, but Kingston wants Queenie, he will take her however he can, even if that means only as a friend. The connection these two have is on fire, Kingston will make you swoon, and Queenie is one unique, strong, and amazing woman. I couldn’t get enough of these two. Kingston and Queenie take you on a fun, flirty, laugh out load at times, swoon-worthy, melt your pants off journey. I absolutely loved these two!
What an entertaining story! I love how Helena makes her hockey teams become a family, how they all stand up for each other and support one another. King is going through some personal deep stuff when he meets Queenie she in turns is going through her own stuff, losing another job and moving in with her father, some shots later lead them to King’s house and an unbelievable night, one night stand. The next time they meet Queenie discovers that King one of her father’s players, a big no-no! Agreeing to friendship their attraction is boiling under the surface, but King and Queenie can only fight it so far. King tries to always do the right thing where as Queenie feels she’s a mess, she quit school has to rely on her father for her job and home, total opposites truly opposites attract. Fun characters, plenty of heat makes this a great read!
