Georgie Ittner always had the freedom to keep men at bay and spend her time and love on the horses of her father’s ranch. But when her father dies, she discovers that she must marry if she wants to keep the land. Unwilling to wed herself to a man with dark secrets, she shuns Leo, her longtime suitor, and places an ad in the newspaper for a mail order husband. However, is a mail order husband the … the solution she is looking for or everything will fall apart?
Jeremy Mayhew is a man looking to put his past behind him. Recently released from prison, he’s content to rebuild his life from the ground up. Needing to buy some time, he weds Georgie under the identity of her mail order husband, but he never counted on falling in love or finding a family. Will he be able to escape his past although it is coming after him?

This is the first book I’ve read by Aurora. It has a good storyline, but starts off written in a rather simplistic style. It may have been one of her earlier stories. It has very good characters and a generous helping of both mystery and tension. The ending is delightful.
I could only give it 3-Stars, mainly because of the great need of editing. Grammar errors, spacing errors, misused words, and a lack of continuity make it a challenge to read enjoyably. What author confuses alter for altar, their for there, Cold Creek for Cross Creek, and on and on it goes. I wonder if there was an editor at all. (Sorry to be so blunt, but it’s really that terrible.)
On a personal note, I’m sad that the author has opted to join others in the practice of manipulating readers into giving their email address to read the entire story.
Another great read by Aurora Hanson who once again brings a cast of strong , well developed characters and weaves an intriguing story filled with secrets, misunderstandings and twists and turns as well as the romance. She takes you back to the day with her descriptive writing and vividly painted scenes and had me glued to the pages from start to finish. I loved and would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Aurora Hanson has not let us down with this story “A Secret Buried In The Ranch”. It is both suspenseful, eventful, full of mystery and finally love. It is highly entertaining and a page turner so be ready to keep reading. It does show the value of forgiving ones self to be able to allow your heart to finally love. And no amount of money or jewels could ever be worth more than the love of finally having a family to call your own.
This is a new author for me and I really enjoyed this story. It had unexpected elements that just made this a good story to read. It had secrecy, outlaws, death in the family, a woman having to marry a stranger to keep the family ranch and treasure that was buried in her land that she didn’t know. Younger twin siblings crawling out the window at night for reasons she didn’t know about, a town upset that she didn’t marry the man they thought she would but secretly loathed and so much more that happens. I believe it is this authors first book and she will be a good story telling if this one’s gives any indication. I recommended this story and this author.
Georgie Ittner and ex con Jeremy Mayhew’s story held my interest throughout,it is well written and I was not putting it down until I finished reading. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, and romance. I recommend.
