Another fun book by Cora Seton. The fictional town of Chance Creek keeps the local minister really busy! In this book, two people with hidden identities collide, and their plots intertwine. This book mixes Jane Austen with sustainability in the sexiest of ways. Great book!
I was a little wary of reading this, because I’ve read only the first book of the series and it was quite awhile ago. But, you don’t have to be familiar with the series as a whole to know what’s going on, as there’s enough information interspersed throughout this book from the previous ones to have a basic understanding of what came before. All of that being said, I did enjoy this book and it’s characters. I liked Eve and Anders, and I liked that their attraction came naturally. Yes, they do have to marry quickly, but they also have common ground which draws them together. The question of the story is can they both get past their secrets and deceptions to get to that HEA. It was an interesting turn to the ending for everything to come to a head, but it was nice in the way that it did. I plan to go back and read the rest of the series at some point to get the full story of Base Camp after reading this.
Loved this book. The story keeps you hoping that everything will work out for Andres and Eve, but you don’t see how it can. Then there is the excitement and action and the love story. This is such a great series.
This is a fabulous series with Anders the one seeking a bride. Eve is a passionate environmentalist who discovers Hanson Oil is causing lots of pollution. She needs to find a way to expose them and comes up with a plan involving Chance Creek.
As in previous books this is an extremely well written and entertaining story and one I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend.
Anders Olsen finally pulled the short straw and he now has 40 days to find a bride and get married. When Eve Wright stumbles up the road, soaking wet, freezing and with a story about getting away from a bad boyfriend, Anders feels like his prayers may have been answered. We also have a new director at camp who is there to stir things up and piss off Renata. Renata even gets to be a bit more human in this one. Eve though has a secret reason for being at Base Camp and she is planning to do what must be done to achieve her goal. There are a lot of secrets in this one – Eve, but also the normally quiet hardworking Anders. I read through this book very quickly, not wanting to put is down. There was a lot of suspense, drama and building of sexual tension. Besides everyone at Base Camp, we also run into some other Chance Creek characters I love like Cab and Rose Johnson. An excellent read! Loved it!
I have enjoyed reading this book as much, maybe a little more than the other six.
Anders Olsen drew the short straw and it appears that the lady he wants to be his wife has fell right into his lap and he is immediately smitten. That is if Eve Wright could be convinced to stay and marry him.
Anders and Eve both have a secret that gnaws at both of them. But the attraction between them is undeniable as they both have thoughts of what the other will do when they know the truth.
This book is filled with page after page of excitement as Anders and Eve get to know each other. Mysteries abound and there are a lot of twists and surprises. And more than one HEA.
The seventh book in the Seals of Chance Creek series, and as with all of Cora Seton’s books this is another great one. I love all the stories that surround this town. Well written, with lots of action will keep you turning the pages. I would certainly recommend this to anyone that loves Cora’s books.
Good read.
