Ten years ago, in the middle of a natural disaster, Navy SEAL Greg Devon lost his heart to a young documentary film director, and when he found out she’d been put in charge of Base Camp, a reality television show, he jumped at the chance to participate. Now he’s in big trouble. If he doesn’t marry in forty days, the sustainable community he’s helping to build will be bulldozed. And Renata Ludlow … Renata Ludlow still barely knows he exists.
Renata was fresh out of film school, directing her first film in the Andes, when a mudslide destroyed her subjects’ village and she took on financial responsibility for a school full of girls. When billionaire Martin Fulsom made her an offer, she took it and exchanged her dream career for a steady paycheck. With two years to go before the last of her girls graduates, she’s got no choice but to keep Fulsom happy—even if it means joining the cast of Base Camp for forty days. She can’t marry Greg until she’s fulfilled her promise, though. Even if she’s beginning to realize he’s the man she’s always wanted.
With his deadline looming, Greg keeps gambling he can convince Renata to be his bride—and Renata keeps gambling on everything in sight, determined to pay what she owes.
Can Greg convince Renata to take a chance on him? Or will she push her luck too far and lose everything?

Wonderful romance about a hard headed, independent woman and a love struck SEAL. We are all a product of our past, and this story really brings that home. Wonderful characters and dialogue and an unusual variation on the series’ plot.
You can never go wrong with a SEAL romance from
Cora. I love returning to Chance Creek!
Renata and Greg have a history, one she doesn’t realize. She gets the feeling she knows him from somewhere but can’t place him.
Greg has been a little in love with Renata since he met her long ago in Peru, The efforts she made when the children she brought home for a surprise reunion instead found death and destruction of their homes was an inspiration to him. He found himself caring for her then, and she was the main reason he signed up for the show.
This book also opens with the birth of Jericho and Savannah’s baby. It’s while he and Renata are in to see the little one that Clem and Fulson burst in. Fulson has also decided that Renata isn’t needed a Base Camp.
That caused Greg to announce she’s the one he’s going to marry, chaos ensues. She can’t marry him, she needs to finish paying for the last few girls education. She’d promised them and wouldn’t let them down.
There are several interesting twists in this book and I think my favorite is the way Renata gets to Clem challenging him and making some pretty crazy bets.
While Greg gets worried about what seems to be a compulsion with her, he and the others also enjoy her getting Clems goat.
I laughed a lot in this book and cried too. This series is winding to its finish and I really don’t think I want it to end.
I borrowed ‘A SEAL’s Desire’ from the Kindle Unlimited program to read.
The series SEALs of Chance Creek is one of my favorite and I am so glad I decided to read them in order. Book number eight is the story of Devon and Renata, the English director. Like all the others in the series this couple has to find a way to understand each other and meet the needs of their partner. Devon is super romantic, full of hope and Renata doesn’t even remember when they met the first time ten years ago and he saw the real and giving person behind her business personality. I loved this story and will keep reading the series to the end.
So enjoying the Seals of Chance Creek.
Can’t wait for the next book in the series
I’m enjoying the whole series – each book has the same goal but each is different.
I absolutely love Cora Seton!
A new release that fans of military romance won’t want to miss!
An entertaining series!
This eighth book in the Seals of Chance Creek series finally delves deeper into a character that’s held my curiosity. Renata Ludlow is the director of the reality show the inhabitants are forced to take part in. She’s pushy and sneaky, and a complete control freak. But is there more to her? What drives this woman in her single-mindedness? Insert sexy Greg who’s loved her from afar for ten years. Another home run by Cora Seton!
Cora Seton has been a go-to author for me ever since her cowboys stole my heart. And her SEALs are just as irresistible! Grab it and get curled up for a heart-warming read.
Cora Seton’s SEALs books are always a treat! You’re definitely not going to want to miss this latest in the Chance Creek series. <3 <3 <3 Greg and Renata!

I love this series!
In this book, it’s now Greg’s turn to find a wife within 40 days. Luckily for him, he knows who he wants for his bride, Renata. Renata is the director on the series, Base Camp which focuses on these SEALs who are building a sustainable community. Renata can’t believe that Greg wants her and keeps pushing him away. But, she also keeps grabbing him close.
Greg met Renata 10 years earlier in Peru. Renata had taken a bunch of school girls on a trip but when they returned home, they found that there was a huge mudslide and all the girls were now orphans. Greg met her that night and stood by her the whole night supporting her before he left the next day. He never forgot about her. He even tried to get on this show because he knew she was the director and he wanted to see her again. But she doesn’t ever remember meeting him.
Renata is struggling with her past. She grew up in foster homes and never felt loved and felt like she could rely on others. Always only depending on herself. In addition, she agreed to pay for all those girls’ schooling, but things keep happening and the debt keeps growing. Renata is desperate to pay this off before she finds love for herself. If this wasn’t bad enough, Fulsom, the owner of the production company, brings in this guy named Clem, to take over Renata’s job and she’s crushed. She wants to be the director but she also wants new things for herself.
While Greg is trying to get Renata to fall in love with him, they’re also battling constant cameras in their faces and lots of sabotage on the grounds. Renata’s also trying to earn quick money, which can only be a recipe for disaster.
This is definitely a page turner and you won’t see a lot of what’s coming. Will Renata be able to come up with the money to help the girls? Will she be able to win back her job as director? And more importantly will Greg be able to convince her to marry him even when there’s a huge campaign brought on by the “back up brides”. read to find out and enjoy!

A Seal’s Desire is book 8 in the SEAL’s of Chance Creek by Cora Seton.
Up next to marry in the reality show Base Camp is former Navy Seal Greg Devon, who has already picked out his bride…a woman he met 10 years prior while in Peru during a natural disaster, she was doing a documentary on an all girls school and is now the film director for the show…Renata.
Renata doesn’t remember him from their short time together in Peru but she made a promise to funds the education for girls and put her life on hold til all the girls have graduated and turns Greg down when he make a bold announcement that he wants to marry her!
Can Greg convince Renata they belong together and he will help with the girls or will she push him away even though she knows he is the man of her dreams, and force him to marry a backup bride to keep Base Camp from folding ??
Let me start by saying I’ve only read 2 other books in this series. The very first, and the one right before this one. I think you need to at least read the first book in the series to get the set up. Being as I missed about 5 books in between, I was a little lost on some of the couples and their stories. I still hate the regency aspect of this series, I really don’t get the purpose, but other than that, this was a pretty good story. I liked Greg and Renata’s histories. It made the story more believable. It gave them something else. And I’m actually looking forward to the next 2 men that are left, their books, their stories. They seem like they will be just as interesting
