Laird Oliphant’s sons have no choice but to get married. Without an heir, the laird has gathered his sons–his six illegitimate sons, all born in the same year–and declared whoever presents him with a grandson first, will become the next Highland Laird. Reactions are…mixed. But to Finn Oliphant, this is exactly the news he’s been hoping for. You see, Finn has already chosen his future wife: … for. You see, Finn has already chosen his future wife: the vivacious and intelligent Fiona MacIan, whom he fell in love with the previous year. He knows she’s in love with him as well, so this whole “marriage ultimatum” thing should be easy-peasy. He’ll simply invite Fiona to Oliphant Castle to sign all the betrothal contracts and… Bam! Done! They can get on with the baby-making!
Except…
It’s not that Fiona is getting cold feet, exactly. She’s fairly certain she loves Finn. Mostly. Well, verra likely, at least. But she’s never been the most self-confident woman, especially compared to her sister–her identical twin sister–whom Finn happens to mistake for Fiona upon their arrival at his keep, which is super-awkward all around.
The idea of marrying Finn makes her feel all warm and giddy–hopefully that’s just lust, not the ague–but how can she be certain he truly wants her, and not just any woman?
It’s hard enough to be certain of anything on Oliphant land, especially with Finn’s mad Aunt Agatha spreading rumors, five potential brothers-in-law offering terrible advice, and a mysterious ghostly drummer keeping the entire keep awake at all hours.
And mayhap Finn should’ve mentioned his identical twin brother as well? That information likely would have saved everyone a lot of headache…and a lot of heartbreak.
Finn and Fiona have plenty to learn about themselves, and one another, before they can be certain this marriage is a good idea. But unfortunately, they’re running out of time. Dun-dun-duuuuuuuun!
Warning… This comedy of errors is not for anyone who can’t handle the following: plenty of naughty scenes, more than a few anachronistic jokes, and an embarrassing number of mistaken-identity gags. Only pick up this book if you have a sense of humor. You’ve been warned.

A fantastic, lighthearted and fun read full of humour and romance. Exactly what I needed these days!
This truly was a comedy of errors, and I laughed through the whole thing! Finn & Fiona are so flirtatious and sexy, with plenty of side characters to amuse and entertain. I also adored Aunt Agatha, and I feel like I will spend my life going around warning of DOOOMMMMM. I can’t wait to see what Finn’s brother & half brothers get themselves into! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to write a review.
Absolutely Wonderful, Hilarious & Romantic
This was a very Wonderful Story. Aunt Agatha, had me laughing
“DOOOOOOMMMMMMM”
No history lessons in this book, all comedy & Romance. Looking forward to the next book.
This is one of those stories I could not put down. A laird and his shrewd plan for grandchildren especially male is gonna lead to delightful, amusing antics abound. Twins galore of main characters. I knew there would be a mix up in who is who and the author really expressed this. As the families prepare to merge, love and comedy take over. The dialect makes the story so believable and humoursly perfect. The atmosphere of the era is on point. Oh so sensual, romantic and laugh out loud funny. Can’t wait to read next in series.
Fiona MacIan and Finn Oliphant met at a trading fair, and it was love at first sight. Months later, Laird William Oliphant declares the the first of his sons to marry and sire a male heir will become laird after him. The problem is that Oliphant is a lusty man, and in one year he sired three sets of male twins! Finn and his twin Duncan are identical in every way except in personality, so when Fiona, her sister Skye, and her brother come for the betrothal ceremony with Finn, funny misunderstandings abound. This book was delightful, and even though some situations were silly, the book was still entertaining.
Just what I needed. A funny, hysterical, historical rom-com. Finn and Duncan are identical twins. Finn falls in love with Fiona who has an identical twin, Skye. Such hilarity ensues. I loved great aunt Agatha. She was the one to talk about the drumming ghost of the castle that predicts “DOOOOOOM”. You will laugh when you find out the real story of the ghost. I hope the next book is about Duncan. I can’t wait to find out how it goes for him. Ha Ha. A very good book. You will not be disappointed.
Oh archeological heaven! Olive’s paper has been submitted, she has met Phineas, and he is more than she ever thought. He also is her dreams desire, Aberdeen Jones. The weeks spent at the manor which had an archeological site and their desire to unearth more treasures occupies their time. But thats not all, time together unearths emotions and desires. This book educates one of some thoughts on digs but mostly the storyline pulls you through romance and desire.
Being worthy of both is now as prevalent and then. A enjoyable read. Certainly entertaining and page turner.

And since she loves him in return, this whole “marriage ultimatum” thing should be easy-peasy.

The first book of the series & if the rest are as good as this then I’m in for a treat. Two sets of identical twins – what could go wrong! A quick read but fun, entertaining & hilarious – I loved it
This story was so much fun. Comedy at its best but a sweet love story.
You just knew with so many twins there were bound to be mix ups. I loved the drummer legend. And da was a wonderful character. They all were. Skye better end up with Dunc
Not my favorite book in the series (little too much insta-love for me) but keep reading and the characters get richer and more flushed out, and thus the stories get better and better.
I enjoyed this book and several more in this series. Made me laugh a lot with its humor. The humor really made the books more enjoyable. Just easy, fun romantic books.
It was ok. Don’t plan to read more by this author.
Lost interest – didn’t finish.
Cute story.
One would have thought that if you had an identical twin you would tell that fact to the person you were falling for. The fact that neither Finn nor Fiona did so was bound to cause confusion and in this case outright heartbreak. Entertaining, silly and vaguely humorous.
Though this is the first book in the series, I read some of the later ones first. They were so funny and charming I had to go back to the beginning. Finn and Fiona’s story was just as good as the test and I can’t wait to read about Duncan and Skye.
Wow, identical twins can sure cause trouble! lol This is such a delightful story and it truly was a fun read. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
Finn falls in love with Fiona the very first time he meets her and intends to marry her. She feels the same way BUT she’s not too sure about the marriage part because they really don’t know each other. When she arrives at Oliphant Castle, it’s the perfect time get more acquainted with each other before she says “yes”. What follows will have you gasping, giggling, swooning, etc…:) Add a cast of characters that you won’t soon forget and you have a story well worth reading!
This is the first book I read by the author, Caroline Lee, and it won’t be the last. It was quite funny. Laird Oliphant, the father of three sets of bastard twin boys, tells them whoever is the first to wed and bed a bride and present him with a grandson, will be the next Highland Laird. His son Finn has already chosen the lass he is going to marry so he believes he is the shoo-in for the title. Things have a way of not always working out as one has planned. What a fun, hilarious romp this was to read. It had lots of misunderstandings, a feisty mad aunt, a ghostly drummer, and so much else going on I couldn’t read it fast enough. If you want a light-hearted, humorous read, this one is a very good choice. I was lucky to receive this work as a gift from the author which has in no way affected my review. All opinions stated are my own.
I think this is just what we all need with all the drama going on around us. I enjoyed the laughs, lighthearted plot, hilarious characters – with more twins than you can shake a stick at! The bantering between the family members was fun, the romance between Finn & Fiona was sweet & spicy. I’m sure we will see more of the other twins in books to come. I highly recommend this read for a humorous & entertaining romp through the Highlands – it was just down right fun!
